Chapter 126: 126 Four Tails And Five Tails!
Amid the chaos of the battlefield, a sudden red light pierced the sky.
Violent chakra surged upward, forming a crimson pillar that roared into the heavens.
"This is...!"
"A Tailed Beast!"
Minato immediately recognized the source of this overwhelming power. To counter Konoha's assault, Iwa Shinobi had unleashed their Tailed Beast onto the battlefield.
Wasting no time, Minato commanded, "Everyone, fall back immediately!"
The berserk crimson chakra swept across the battlefield like a tidal wave.
"It's Iwa Shinobi's Lava Style user, Roshi," Kato Dan said as he rushed to Minato's side.
Just when victory seemed near, the sudden appearance of a Tailed Beast introduced a dangerous and unpredictable element to the war.
Roshi's transformation was swift. The raging Tailed Beast chakra completely consumed him, rapidly distorting his body.
In moments, he grew into a massive red ape, towering over the battlefield. Four thick tails thrashed wildly behind him.
His muscular body radiated terrifying strength, his mouth bristling with sharp teeth, and two pointed horns jutted menacingly from his head.
"..."
Minato's expression turned serious as he observed the scene.
Sure enough, in the next moment, the Four-Tails opened its massive mouth, spewing countless streams of molten magma like a volcanic eruption.
The fiery projectiles rained down on the battlefield indiscriminately, engulfing not only Konoha's forces but even Iwa Shinobi's troops.
Roshi had been completely consumed by the Four-Tails, leaving behind only the beast's raging desire to destroy all humans before it.
The falling magma caused chaos, disrupting the battlefield as explosions echoed everywhere.
"You cover the retreat of the troops. I'll handle this guy," Minato instructed Kato Dan, his tone calm but firm.
Aside from Simu, Minato was the only one capable of standing up to a Tailed Beast.
Kato Dan nodded resolutely. "Understood."
There was no time to hesitate.
In an instant, Minato used the Flying Thunder God technique, teleporting in front of the Four-Tails.
"Hey, Four-Tails, over here!" Minato called out, his voice steady and commanding.
With precise aim, he flung a kunai straight toward the Four-Tails' eyes, the weapon cutting through the air like a flash of lightning.
The Four-Tails' eyes flared with intense heat, instantly melting the kunai Minato had thrown as if it had fallen into a pool of lava.
Noticing the "ant" daring to challenge it, the Four-Tails swung one of its massive tails, aiming to crush Minato.
Minato, however, fell swiftly from the sky, evading the attack with precision. Just as the Four-Tails' tail was about to strike him, he vanished in a blur, reappearing behind the beast.
With a flick of his wrist, a high-speed spinning Rasengan formed in his hand, glowing with destructive power.
A momentary flash of confusion crossed the Four-Tails' face—where had the pesky human gone?
Before it could react, Minato slammed the Rasengan into one of its massive tails.
"Boom!"
The Four-Tails roared in pain as the Rasengan's power erupted, leaving a deep wound.
Enraged, the beast turned sharply, its body engulfed in flames. Streams of molten magma spilled from its form, scorching the battlefield below.
Seeing the magma spilling everywhere, Minato wasted no time. Using the Flying Thunder God Technique, he teleported a safe distance away, retreating swiftly across the battlefield.
But the Four-Tails wasn't about to let this audacious "insect" escape so easily. With a thunderous stomp, it launched its massive body into the air, lunging straight toward Minato.
Thankfully, Minato's mastery of the Flying Thunder God allowed him to maintain the upper hand in this hit-and-run battle. Another teleportation created a wide gap between him and the rampaging beast.
His plan was simple: keep evading and buying time to draw the Four-Tails away from the battlefield.
However, just as he began executing his strategy, something unexpected happened.
A second surge of dark red chakra erupted into the sky, crackling with ominous energy.
Minato's eyes widened. "No way..."
He clenched his fists as realization struck. "Damn it, is Iwa Shinobi insane? Sending two tailed beasts into the same battle?!"
Even Minato, usually calm and composed, couldn't help but curse.
Tailed beasts were not just powerful weapons—they were symbols of a nation's strength and security.
Deploying one on the battlefield was already extreme, but two? It was a level of desperation he hadn't anticipated.
Iwa Shinobi had deployed both of their tailed beasts—Four-Tails and Five-Tails. These were the only two tailed beasts under the Land of Earth's control.
Meanwhile, back in Iwa Shinobi Village, Ohnoki, the Tsuchikage, was angry.
Both Jinchūriki had disappeared without a word, leaving the village in a state of chaos.
Returning to the battlefield, a new threat emerged: the Five-Tails, Kokuō.
As soon as it appeared, the Five-Tails entered a berserk state. Its form resembled a majestic white horse with two sharp horns, exuding an overwhelming presence.
The Five-Tails' specialty was Boil Style—high-temperature steam that erupted from its body at incredible speed.
The deadly steam scalded Konoha Shinobi nearby, incapacitating them within seconds.
But it wasn't just its steam that made the Five-Tails dangerous. It used the steam to boost its speed, allowing it to charge with devastating force, using its horns as lethal weapons.
To make matters worse, Kokuō's rampage brought it dangerously close to Kakashi and his team.
"Damn, it's coming," Kakashi muttered as the Five-Tails closed in.
Their speed was no match for the rampaging beast, and within moments, it caught up.
Without hesitation, Obito stepped in front of Kakashi and Rin.
"You two go ahead—I'll hold it off!"
Despite his usual antics, Obito was willing to sacrifice himself when it truly mattered. He turned to Kakashi with a determined look.
"Kakashi, take care of Rin for me."
Obito grinned briefly before turning to face the Five-Tails.
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Technique!"
Summoning every ounce of his strength, Obito unleashed a massive fire dragon that roared toward the charging tailed beast.
But against the sheer power of a tailed beast, Obito stood little chance.
The Five-Tails snorted, releasing a massive burst of steam from its nostrils, which easily blocked the fire dragon.
With its two sharp horns, it smashed into the fiery creature, shattering it into countless flickering flames.
Powered by its steam-enhanced speed, the Five-Tails moved with terrifying force. It descended from the sky, slamming into the ground where Obito stood.
Obito tried to jump aside desperately, but the powerful shockwave still caught him.
The impact was catastrophic— the ground crumbled under the force, collapsing like a massive, gaping abyss that swallowed Obito whole.
"Obito!" Rin's anguished scream echoed as tears streamed down her face.
Kakashi, holding Rin tightly with one arm, channeled the last of his Lightning Style Chakra to push his body to its limits.
Without looking back, he sprinted toward the edge of the battlefield, determined to keep her safe.
"Faster... hurry up!"
The Five-Tails lifted its head, its eyes glowing a menacing scarlet. Upon closer inspection, three slowly spinning tomoe could be seen in its pupils.
Amid the ruins where Obito had been buried, a figure slowly emerged from the rubble. Surrounding the figure were two plant-like growths with sharp green fangs.
Half of the figure's body was white, while the other half was black.
White Zetsu, on the left, grinned and chuckled. "I didn't expect Lord Madara to be so generous this time, letting us deploy two tailed beasts..."
Black Zetsu, calm and composed, responded, "Everything is for the smooth execution of Lord Madara's plan."
"Yes, yes, you're always the loyal one," White Zetsu said mockingly, unconcerned, as his gaze shifted toward the chaos of the battlefield.
"If that's the case, why not make things even bigger?"
White Zetsu raised his arm, revealing two dark red Sharingan embedded in it.
A terrifying surge of pupil power emanated from them.
It was through these Sharingan that they had managed to manipulate and bring the two Jinchūriki from Iwa Shinobi Village to the battlefield. Otherwise, the cautious old man Ōnoki would never have allowed both Jinchūriki to leave the village at the same time.
A sly smile spread across White Zetsu's face as he watched the chaos unfolding on the battlefield. The Sharingan on his arm spun wildly.
Sensing the disturbance, Five Tails immediately opened its massive jaws.
Two streams of chakra, one yin and one yang, began to intertwine, gradually merging into a dense, pitch-black Tailed Beast Bomb.
"Go to hell!" White Zetsu exclaimed, his voice dripping with madness.
The Tailed Beast Bomb shot out instantly, heading straight toward Kakashi and Rin as they fled. Thousands of Konoha ninjas were also in its path!
"There's no escape," Kakashi muttered, his face grim.
Obito had just sacrificed himself to protect them, but now it seemed his efforts were in vain. Kakashi still couldn't get Rin to safety.
Despair filled the battlefield as the other ninjas realized the hopelessness of their situation. Against the sheer power of a tailed beast, ordinary shinobi were utterly helpless. No ninjutsu they knew could stop this level of destruction.
Just as the shadow of doom loomed, a golden figure suddenly appeared.
"Damn it, I'm still a step too late," Minato muttered, his expression dark as he surveyed the battlefield.
His gaze landed briefly on the spot where Obito had fallen. Regret and frustration clouded his face.
Simu had specifically entrusted him with looking after these three young shinobi, and yet...
But no one thought that Iwa Shinobi's two tailed beasts would be thrown on this battlefield in one go.
Minato extended his arms, and dense, intricate seals appeared in the air, forming a web-like pattern.
The Tailed Beast Bomb collided with the magical web, but instead of causing the expected explosion, it was absorbed slowly, as if sinking into a quagmire, and then vanished.
Minato swiftly waved his hand, sending a kunai flying in the distance.
Above the kunai, a massive magic circle materialized. The Tailed Beast Bomb, which had disappeared earlier, was expelled from the circle.
A brilliant beam of light shot through the sky as the Tailed Beast Bomb detonated in a distant, open field, several kilometers away.
"Boom!"
The shockwave from the explosion spread across the battlefield. At this distance, the Konoha Shinobi remained unharmed.
"As expected of the Yellow Flash..." White Zetsu muttered from a distance.
Black Zetsu glanced at Minato, then reached down to lift Obito's half-conscious body.
"We've got the target. Let the two tailed beasts cause more chaos."
White Zetsu nodded, his Sharingan spinning as he controlled Four Tails and Five Tails to focus on Minato.
