Konoha Ninja Shop System

Chapter 60: Chapter 60: The Dark Side

Inside the casino, the atmosphere was tense.

Tsunade glanced around at the shocked expressions of the people surrounding her. The corners of her lips curled into a sly smile, a flicker of joy flashing in her eyes.

She had never won this much money in her entire gambling career! In the past, she'd be lucky to walk away without losing everything she had. Winning was a rare luxury—so rare, it bordered on myth for her.

And yet, today was different.

Because no one had chosen to bet the same as her, all the chips on the table belonged solely to her. Every single one. That fact alone made her ecstatic.

The pile of money in front of her had to be worth hundreds of thousands of taels. Tsunade hugged the money to her chest with satisfaction. For the first time in her life, she felt she was genuinely improving her luck. She was no longer just a gambler—she was a winner.

"Are you guys coming or not?" Tsunade asked with a radiant smile.

Her words snapped the stunned gamblers out of their daze. It was as if they had awakened from a trance. The previously silent casino suddenly erupted with noise once more.

The gamblers, now high on adrenaline and indignation, rubbed their hands and stared at Tsunade like ravenous wolves. Their eyes burned with disbelief and resentment, as though they wanted to devour her whole. To them, this was just a fluke. A lucky win. Nothing more. The outcome of a single game was no proof of anything in the long run.

"Of course we're continuing! No way I'm letting that slide! There's no way she can keep winning like this!" one gambler shouted.

"Exactly! Luck means nothing in the end!" another chimed in.

"Right! A bit of good luck doesn't mean she's suddenly a genius at gambling!"

"Hmph! I'll make sure she coughs up every last coin she just took from us—double!"

Tsunade watched their angry faces and nodded with satisfaction. She had been worried these gamblers might back off. Thankfully, they were too stubborn to quit now.

Seeing the rising energy in the room, the dealer at the table picked up the dice, dropped them into the cup, and began shaking.

The sound of dice rattling inside the cup echoed through the casino like a spell being cast.

Ding-ling-clang!

The metallic clatter of dice against glass pierced the tense silence like a drumroll. Everyone held their breath, not daring to even blink. Even the sound of a pin dropping would've been too loud in that moment.

Thump!

The dealer slammed the cup onto the table and declared, "Place your bets! Bet and leave! Bet and leave!"

The gamblers didn't move at once. Instead, they turned their gazes in unison toward Tsunade.

Noticing the spotlight on her, Tsunade scratched her ear, unfazed. "Why are you all staring at me? Hurry up and place your bets!" she said lazily.

Then, without hesitation, she pulled out half the bills she had just won and tossed them onto the table. "I'm betting big again!"

Her wealth triggered a ripple of excitement. In the eyes of the gamblers, she was still the same fat sheep—just one with unusually good luck today. Her confidence only made them more determined to win it all back.

"Damn it! I'm betting small!" one gambler declared, slamming his money on the table.

"Me too!" another followed.

Soon, it was as if a spell had been broken. The rest of the gamblers snapped into motion, slapping their cash down and calling out, "Small! Small!"

They all believed that Tsunade couldn't possibly win again. Two wins in a row? Impossible. Her streak had to end here.

The dealer watched them silently, a neutral expression masking any inner emotion. Once all the bets were down, he slowly lifted the cup.

Necks craned. Eyes widened. Everyone leaned in, desperate to see the result. Then—

Dead silence.

The confident expressions on the gamblers' faces vanished, replaced with disbelief. For a long moment, no one spoke.

Then, a cry erupted from the crowd: "No way! Are you kidding me?"

Others joined in quickly:

"How is this even possible?!"

"She can't keep winning like this—it's insane!"

"This has to be rigged!"

Despite their outrage, their hands were already moving, pulling out more cash for another round.

"No need to wait! Come on, let's go again! No way she gets lucky three times in a row!"

Tsunade, calm as ever, collected her winnings and pushed them in front of her. She gave the dealer a small nod.

The dealer, pale-faced but composed, dropped the dice into the cup once more and began shaking with more force than before.

"Place your bets!" he shouted again.

"I'm betting small!" someone yelled, pushing another stack of bills forward.

"Same here! Three bigs in a row? Not happening!"

"Exactly! Unless this whole place is rigged, it's statistically impossible!"

The crowd of gamblers threw down their cash with conviction. Their voices were loud, their energy even louder.

Tsunade, however, looked amused. She had a strange expression on her face, one of mock pity.

She had a hunch the dice would show big again.

Her eyes drifted toward the dealer. His face was now the color of paper. Beads of sweat dotted his forehead. He was clearly under enormous pressure.

The truth was, this dealer was a rookie. He had just started working at the casino and hadn't even been formally trained yet. Because he couldn't manipulate the dice like the seasoned dealers, he had been assigned to the "ordinary" tables—ones where tampering was rarely needed.

But fate was cruel today. A powerhouse like Tsunade had shown up at his table.

Whether it was skill, instinct, or sheer luck, she had accurately guessed the outcome twice.

Now the gamblers were beginning to look at him with suspicion. And the pressure was suffocating.

If it turned out to be another big number, he knew things would go south fast. His hands trembled as he lowered the cup to the table again.

"I'll bet big!" Tsunade said suddenly, grinning as she casually tossed another stack of bills into the center.

The dealer flinched. His hand shook. Could it really be big again?

Sweat streamed down his forehead as he picked up the cup, praying silently in his heart. "Please, not a big number… not again…"

But the heavens didn't hear him.

As he lifted the cup, the dice revealed the same result once more: Big.

"F**k! What is going on?!" a gambler roared in disbelief.

"This has to be a setup! No way this keeps happening!"

"Yeah! This is a scam! There's no other explanation!"

The room erupted. Dozens of angry voices shouted the same thing: "Shady! Shady! Shady!"

The air was thick with fury. People were standing up, pointing fingers, demanding justice.

The poor dealer stood frozen, drenched in sweat. His lips trembled as he shook his head violently, trying to explain himself.

"I swear—I didn't cheat! I didn't do anything!"

But no one believed him.

He knew better than anyone else that he was innocent. He hadn't tampered with the dice, not once. And even if he wanted to—he wouldn't have known how. He simply hadn't been trained.

And now, surrounded by furious gamblers and accusations, the young dealer looked like he might collapse.

Tears welled in his eyes as chaos unfolded around him. At this moment, he truly felt more wronged than Peter from the ancient tale of injustice.
