As soon as they entered the Forest of Death, Sasuke pulled Morkel and Naruto aside to discuss a strategy.

"Our team has been given the Scroll of Earth, so we must quickly find a team that has the Scroll of Heaven."

"We'll take their scroll, head to the central tower, and hand in the task to pass the exam."

Sasuke laid out the plan clearly.

At that critical moment, Naruto scratched his head awkwardly. "You guys go ahead and plan, I really have to use the bathroom."

Morkel watched Naruto walk toward the bushes and immediately called out, "Do it over there. We have to stay alert and keep an eye on each other. This exam is full of deception. We can't afford to be careless."

"You're too paranoid, Morkel! I can't pee if you're staring at me..."

Naruto grumbled and walked into the bushes.

Half a minute later, Naruto returned, looking relieved. "Ahh, much better."

Seeing this, Morkel narrowed his eyes, then suddenly pulled a kunai from his pouch and threw it at Naruto!

"Ahhh!!"

The kunai grazed Naruto's cheek, leaving a shallow cut that oozed a thin line of blood.

"What the hell, Morkel?!" Naruto shouted, eyes wide with shock.

Sasuke, observing closely, quickly realized what was happening. In the next moment, he pulled out a shuriken, pointing it at Naruto. "Where is the real Naruto?"

"What are you talking about?! I am Naruto!" the fake Naruto protested, feigning innocence.

Morkel, too lazy for explanations, launched another kunai at him!

The real reason Morkel knew this Naruto was a fake was simple: the real Naruto always wore his ninja tool pouch on his right waist. This "Naruto" had his pouch on the left.

The fake Naruto barely dodged the kunai, his face momentarily stiffening.

Suddenly, Morkel disappeared into thin air!

A gust of wind rushed from behind the fake Naruto, making his heart pound in alarm.

Before he could react—

"Rasengan!"

Morkel had teleported behind him using the Flying Thunder God Technique and slammed a Rasengan into his back!

"Bang!"

A deep crater formed where the fake Naruto landed.

His transformation faded, revealing a ninja from the Rain Village.

Morkel smirked. "Oh, it's you. The guy who refused to pay the 'cheating fee.'"

"I'll deal with you later," he added, giving Sasuke a look to keep an eye on him.

Using the Flying Thunder God Technique again, Morkel teleported to Naruto's location.

Naruto was tied up, a cloth gag in his mouth, and guarded by two more Rain Village ninjas.

Summoning multiple Shadow Clones, Morkel took down the two Rain ninjas in under thirty seconds.

Soon, Naruto and Morkel returned to Sasuke, dragging the tied-up Rain ninjas with them.

With this, the entire Rain team was eliminated.

Sasuke was stunned.

Morkel had been gone for less than a minute, yet not only had he rescued Naruto, but he had also captured two enemy ninjas.

Was this really a Chūnin Exam, or was Morkel simply bullying weaker candidates?

Morkel crouched in front of the Rain ninja who had disguised himself as Naruto and playfully tapped his face.

"Okay, now you can pay up."

Seeing his captured teammates, the Rain ninja panicked. "Fine! Fine! We broke our promise! I'll pay! A thousand copper coins!"

Morkel smirked. "Who said it was still a thousand? You attacked me. That raises the price to ten thousand."

Naruto and Sasuke gasped.

The price increased tenfold in one sentence!

Even the most ruthless merchants would bow down to Morkel's negotiation tactics.

"Too much?" Morkel asked, twirling a kunai menacingly.

The Rain ninja swallowed hard. "No! Not too much at all!"

"Yes, yes! In fact, it's too little!" another Rain ninja chimed in.

"Morkel-sama is so generous. After all we did, ten thousand is a bargain!" the third added quickly.

Morkel pretended to contemplate. "You're right. I was too soft. Let's make it fifteen thousand per person, plus your scrolls."

Though unhappy, the Rain ninjas had no choice but to comply.

With their lives in Morkel's hands, they couldn't risk refusal.

After collecting 45,000 copper coins and an extra Scroll of Earth, Morkel showed no signs of untying them.

"Morkel-sama, can we go now?" one of them pleaded.

Morkel shook his head. "No. You're untrustworthy. If I let you go, you might come back for revenge."

The three Rain ninjas silently wept in their hearts.

As Morkel's team left, the Rain ninjas remained tied up, left to their fate.

Elsewhere in the forest, the three Sound Village ninjas moved swiftly, as if searching for something.

"The time has come to carry out the mission."

Morkel's team continued moving through the dense forest.

Naruto sighed. "It's a shame they had the Scroll of Earth too. If it were Heaven, we could go straight to the tower."

"No rush," Morkel grinned. "There are still plenty of people here who owe me money."

Naruto and Sasuke shuddered.

Morkel was determined to collect debts to the bitter end.

Meanwhile, outside the exam area, Konoha's Anbu discovered three corpses.

"They were Chūnin exam candidates," one Anbu muttered.

"Alert the Hokage immediately!"

Soon, the news reached Mitarashi Anko, the second-round examiner.

Her face darkened upon seeing the bodies.

Their faces were melted beyond recognition by a sinister technique.

"Only one person could have done this..." Anko muttered, her voice trembling with anger and fear.

Back in the forest, Morkel proposed an idea.

"Since Naruto was already impersonated once, we should establish a code to verify our identities."

Naruto and Sasuke agreed.

"But what should the code be?" Naruto scratched his head. "It has to be something only we know..."

Morkel smirked. "How about this: 'Odd changes, even remains the same, the symbol depends on the quadrant!'"

Sasuke and Naruto blinked.

"Morkel, where do you even hear these things?" Naruto asked, baffled.

"Don't worry about it. Just remember it."

Sasuke nodded. "It's unique and confusing to outsiders. I like it."

And so, the team's secret code was set.

By evening, they had collected three Scrolls of Heaven and five Scrolls of Earth.

Morkel's money pouch was also noticeably heavier.

Sitting around a campfire, Naruto grinned. "This Chūnin Exam is easy. We got all this in five hours!"

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "The one doing all the work is Morkel. If not for his Flying Thunder God Technique and planning, we'd be struggling."

Naruto grumbled but changed the topic. "When did you even mark those ninjas with Flying Thunder God?"

Morkel smirked. "Before the exam. When I mentioned the 'cheating fee.' That way, I could track them anytime."

Naruto gave a thumbs-up. "Genius! You planned everything from the start!"

Morkel laughed. "They made things complicated when a simple payment would have solved everything."

That night, Naruto was on watch duty.

Suddenly, rustling sounds came from the bushes.

"Who's there?!" Naruto called.

Silence.

Cautiously, he pushed aside the bushes.

A giant shadow lunged at him!

"Ahhh!!"

Naruto was thrown several meters back as a massive snake slithered into camp, extinguishing the fire.

Morkel's eyes snapped open.

"Sasuke! Get ready!"

A sinister chuckle echoed in the darkness.

"The little boy with Flying Thunder God… You react quickly."

Morkel's face tensed.

He recognized that voice.

Orochimaru.

A name from Konoha's most wanted list.

A name that spelled danger.
