Kryptonian in Sword and Magic World

Chapter 20: An inherently evil world

996 GBC, Rusa village, Near Jura forest~

"Please, please, please don't hurt my child!!!" A woman clutching her daughter shouted, seeing the beast in men's skin walking towards them after beheading her husband.

Reena couldn't believe how this all came to be, one moment she was serving her husband and daughter food the next moment these beasts barged in killing her husband and looting their coins.

She knew of these bastards harassing travellers from the talk of the village. They were the reason fewer merchants were visiting their village that's why Cheif posted a bandit subjugation mission. Hoping for adventurers to clean them filth as their village was abandoned by the kingdom ever since the monster nation rose.

"Rickard! Look we have a pair of beauty 'ere!" Reena heard one of the beasts speak, licking his lips in anticipation.

'Pair?' She thought confusedly before her eyes fell on her trembling daughter and widened.

"No, no, no! Not her! Take me! She hasn't bled yet!" Reena shouted, her desperate cry only exited the twisted man before her.

"Oh! Don't worry she will once I fuck her gud." The man before her bared his yellow teeth, grinning wildly.

Reena's despair deepened when the man forcefully pulled her crying daughter away.

"Oye turd, I'm going inside the house, have fun with this bitch." The man carrying her daughter said.

Reena tried to take her crying daughter from the man but he backhanded her, reeling her on the hard ground.

"Don't ruin her face, Olaf." The second man said before pinning her down. The man carrying her daughter scoffed at the man

"Ma! Don't leave me, I don't want to go with this uncle." Reena's barely nine summers daughter cried causing her to struggle in her captor's hand.

She tried to push him off and ran towards her daughter but the beast was too strong he held her firmly in his hands.

"I'm gonna have lots of fun witcha." He said as he forcefully raised her arms and held them in one hand.

*Rip!* he ripped her dress with another.

At that point, Reena stopped struggling and considered biting her tongue to kill herself, but she couldn't as her angel would be left alone in these beast's arms.

So with a despair look she closed her eyes, letting the man do as he pleases. But suddenly her captor's hand roaming her body stopped and became cold.

Reena opened her eyes to see the sight of her captor enclosed in ice. Her eyes shot wide as her captor's face, the only unfrozen part writhed in pain.

*Swish* Reena heard the sound of clothes fluttering in the wind. Her eyes snapped in that direction only to be blinded by the sunlight.

She opened them again as something shielded her from the sunlight. Once her vision returned she saw the vague outline of a man floating like a god, his red cloak fluttering slowly by the winds.

Although Reena couldn't see the face of her hero, she felt strangely safe in his shadow. There was an aura surrounding him that made her feel like everything would be alright.

Suddenly the man lowered to the ground, his godly visage finally visible in her eyes.

"Are you alright, miss?"The God spoke, his magnetic voice bringing her back.

Reena immediately remembered about her daughter. She quickly crawled up to her saviour's feet and begged. "My Lord! Please… please save my daughter! That beast took her inside the house to… to." She didn't have to complete her sentence as her saviour's eyes snapped towards the house. His blue suddenly turned fiery, shining with godly fury as he disappeared from her vision.

Kal's POV~

.

Time froze as I entered the house. My eyes fell on the small girl bound to the bed with no clothes. Her face was covered in tears and snot as her terrified eyes looked at the bastard above her.

My blood boiled as I turned to look at the frozen visage of the bastard removing his cock from his pants.

'Kill him…' A voice whispered in my head, a voice I recognised very well.

A voice I once denied vehemently and ran away from.

But this time I didn't have the courage to deny no, no, NO! THIS TIME. I. DID. NOT. WANT. TO. DENY.

The moment I came to the conclusion, a wide burst of heat rays left my eyes, killing and burning every trace of the human-skinned monster away from the world.

The world immediately returned to motion as I freed the terrified girl and wrapped her in the bed sheets.

I lifted her up feeling her tremble at my touch. Immediately the familiar rush of anger surged once again but I pushed it down.

Giving her a reassuring smile which seems to calm her down I walked outside the house, to her mother only to see that mother stabbing a sharp wooden stick through the eyes of the bastard.

I approached the bloodied woman, placing her daughter in her hand.

After that, I walked away from them to help others, my thoughts complicated as the realization of killing someone hit my conscience.

It took an hour or two to subdue and round all the bandits, though I barely paid any attention as my mind kept repeating the scene of my first murder.

To say I was regretful would be wrong as I sure as hell believed the bastard deserved it. It just… it's just how I so easily decided to kill him and didn't even hesitate till the end, not even once.

I know I have been preparing myself to eventually take a life but I didn't think it would be so early…

"Sigh~"

While I was busy with my thoughts, Rei approached, telling me the villagers had prepared a funeral for the dead and had invited me.

After taking care of the funeral, the chief invited us to stay in his house for the nights which we accepted.

The next day we left the village for Rimuru city after a hearty breakfast prepared by the mother-daughter pair.

Along the way, Rei tried to talk to me about the death of the bandit. He tried to console me saying the man deserved it and he would have done the same. Though not much his words did help me clear my head.

Rei probably feeling my mood getting better tried to cheer me up further but suddenly we felt the movement of massive Magicules.

Turning our heads in that direction we saw smoke rising from Rimuru City. I felt a dread creep up as I accelerated my flying speed, reaching the city in under a minute and landing where we felt the most Magicules.

My heart dropped when I saw the sight of a cold face Rimuru gazing at the dead body of Shion.

"Kal…" Rimuru called, his cold and hurt voice stabbing dagger in my heart.

"Yes?"

"What did I do wrong? I just wanted to enjoy a carefree life with them." He said, pointing at the dead bodies of his beloved people.

"You did nothing wrong. It's just the world that is inherently evil." I said with a mirthful laugh, remembering the scene of yesterday"

"I'm… I'm going to kill all those bastards, Kal. Will you stop me?" Rimuru questioned.

"I will not."

"Then would you resent me for killing tens of thousands of people, Kal?" He questioned again, his broken tone seeking support.

"I would not."

"Would people call me the wrong one for killing those people?" He asked once more.

"They certainly would, but you are not the one wrong, not for me or them," I said pointing at the people of Tempest surrounding us.

Rimuru smiled at my words. "Thanks, Kal you're a friend." After saying that Rimuru launched towards the human army outside the tempest.

"A friend…" I muttered looking at the disappearing back of Rimuru.
