Chapter 47: The Project Started
"Mr. Loyral, I've already bought the skill. What should I do next?"
"You just need to use the skill while focusing on what you're trying to create."
That sounds easy enough.
But in that case, I should start by enhancing my knowledge about Earth first.
So I began by visualizing the most complete image of Earth that I could recall — from its surface, shape, and color to those vague memories of geography from my school days.
After focusing for long enough, I activated the skill [Insight], aiming it directly at the image of Earth in my mind. At first, only bits and pieces of information popped up — continental crusts, tectonic plates, the water cycle... But the more I concentrated, the more the data spread out and expanded.
Although knowledge was flowing steadily into my head, the pace wasn't exactly fast. I had to maintain intense focus for hours, and sometimes I even had to use [Parallel Thinking] to avoid getting overloaded. It felt like trying to memorize an entire encyclopedia while also filtering out the important parts.
Still, this cheat-code style of studying didn't feel too bad.
...
Three hours later.
<
Oh wow, already leveled up?
Thanks to that level-up, the amount of information I received kept increasing. But even so, I could imagine just how insignificant my current knowledge was compared to everything that makes up Earth as we know it.
So I remained still in place for a long time, letting the stream of knowledge continuously pour into my head. This process reminded me of when I used [Scan] in the past, except this time it was still within manageable limits, so I wasn't overwhelmed by pain.
Along the way, I also activated [Memory] and [Parallel Thinking] to assist with absorbing information more efficiently.
My [Parallel Thinking] was already at a fairly high level, so now I could divide my thought processes into more than just two as before.
Currently, I was running seven separate streams of consciousness simultaneously, and I'd already assigned each one its own task.
Since [Insight] was feeding me all sorts of random knowledge from different domains, it was impossible for just one mind to process everything neatly. So, I assigned each sub-consciousness to handle a different field of information.
For example, Subconscious #1 took care of oceans and their ecosystems, #2 handled land and crust structure, and #3 focused on terrestrial ecosystems including flora and fauna...
While those seven minds were working their virtual asses off, the main me — my primary consciousness — was... resting.
I'm not being lazy, okay! I had a role too. Once the sub-consciousnesses compiled all their data, it was my job to begin manifesting a fully detailed version of Earth in my mind.
Mr. Loyral had said that the more realistic I could reproduce the world in my head, the more effective it would be, and the sooner the system would grant me the skill [Virtual World].
So I was extra meticulous with the manifestation work.
According to him, [Manifest] wasn't just about mental modeling — once leveled up enough, it could turn imagination into reality (within certain limits, of course).
Anyway, I should just focus on the task at hand.
With the information I had so far, I decided to try manifesting a realistic Earth — right down to its actual size, mass, and mechanisms of operation. It would be a hassle, sure, but if doing this just once could net me the skill instantly, then it'd be totally worth it.
I was pretty eager, but the job was way too massive for one person.
At this point, I was still in the process of applying land masses onto the sphere I had visualized as Earth.
The version of Earth I was trying to create was the ancient one — back when all the continents were still a single landmass, before they drifted apart into the separate continents we know today. I was confident because I'd just gotten information about that from [Insight].
...
<
Nice!
If things keep going like this, I might just pull it off.
After that, I continued staying frozen in place for several days straight. To others, I probably looked AFK, but in my head, it was full steam ahead.
<
Progress was looking pretty solid. I had basically completed the land and water layer on the Earth sphere. Next up was the atmosphere...
But then I ran into another problem.
From the information I'd acquired, I learned that Earth's atmosphere wasn't something it created by itself — external factors also played a big part.
Light was another issue — it came from the Sun, not Earth.
And on top of that, I'd also need to add a Moon...
A…
I thought I was making progress, but now the workload just multiplied again.
My [Insight] proficiency regarding Earth was only around 20%, and now I had to add components from the entire Solar System?
Yeah, that's kind of exhausting.
Oh, and then I noticed yet another problem.
The land I'd just applied — because there was no sunlight — had started to wither.
The oceans, without the Moon's gravitational pull, were a mess. Tides were completely unstable, and the waters refused to calm.
In the end, the whole thing fell apart again.
A...!
All my hard work from the past few days…
I could cry.
But it didn't take long for me to calm down.
I started analyzing where the problem came from and realized something crucial: Earth wasn't the first thing to exist.
It was shaped and formed under the influence of other celestial bodies.
Which means... if I wanted to create a complete Earth, I'd have to start from outside forces?
So... a whole damn Solar System!?
I nearly fainted just imagining it.
Just one planet alone had already dumped an overwhelming flood of information into me. And now I had to study an entire planetary system?
All seven of my sub-consciousnesses were clearly worn out. And since they were still technically "me," all that fatigue pooled into my actual body — which now felt like it was on the verge of collapsing from malnutrition.
Working just a few days like this was more tiring than fighting nonstop for a whole month.
Aaa!!
I miss the monsters outside...
Sigh...
No point in complaining. I need to think of a new plan.
Manifesting an entire Solar System would take too much time, and my knowledge about it was close to zero. That means I'd have to go back and start collecting info from scratch.
If I really put in the effort, I could probably do it.
But the real problem is time.
At most, I've got about three months left.
I don't know if I can pull this off in time...
I think I should consult Mr. Loyral.
So I called him out and briefly explained my situation.
"I understand. I ran into the same issue back then."
My eyes lit up.
If he had faced the same problem but still succeeded, then that meant there had to be a way!
"How did you overcome it??"
Mr. Loyral shook his head and sighed.
"There wasn't any special trick. I spent... twelve years before I finally acquired the skill."
Twelve years????
Nai wa~
I don't have anywhere near that much time!
"Then what should I do?"
"Unless you find a skill that can manipulate time to slow it down."
I froze.
Something like that doesn't come easy. And even if I did find it, the skill requirements were probably even crazier than this one.
So... even Mr. Loyral didn't have a faster solution...
Unless I could max out all my relevant skills: [Memory], [Parallel Thinking], [Insight], and [Manifest].
I had a skill called [Support Evil Eye], but on its own, it didn't help much. Worse yet, I had to pay extra just to recharge it.
So far, I'd already spent quite a bit out of pocket.
Right now, [Insight] and [Manifest] were still a bit low. But the other two were almost maxed out, so I figured I'd try pushing them a bit more.
I just needed to activate [Scan].
My [Pain Resistance] was already at level 9, so I wasn't scared of the backlash anymore.
So I turned on [Scan] at maximum output while keeping [Insight] running to continue gathering knowledge about Earth.
Then a miracle happened.
Maybe it was because the skills were resonating — I don't know — but about 30% of the info coming in from [Scan] was directly related to world structures.
Not Earth specifically, but it was still really useful.
Since [Scan] was running full throttle, I was scanning all sorts of things I'd never encountered before — including tons of mutated monsters I'd never seen.
I honestly don't know how far this skill can reach, but the data it pulled in was super valuable. I made sure to memorize everything, just in case I ran into them later.
After that, I continued to AFK in place for a few days straight.
<
<
<
<
<
At last… a sign of progress.
Several of my skills leveled up all at once, even if the process felt a bit slow...
The upside is, my knowledge of Earth has now reached about 50%.
So I immediately pulled three of the eight sub-consciousnesses back and reassigned them to start gathering information on the universe outside.
At this point, I seriously wished I could clone myself.
Carrying all this workload alone was just plain brutal.
Daily life remained uneventful—I hadn't moved from one spot in days. I hadn't eaten or slept either, because absolute focus was the only way to maintain maximum efficiency.
Still, hunger eventually forced me to take a short break.
…
<
<
<
<
<
<
<
Finally, after fifteen relentless days, all my skills had leveled up once more.
But time waits for no one—according to what Mr. Loyral said, I had only three months left before the seal would break.
Faster! I have to move faster!
<
Oh, just when I needed it most!
As soon as the skill leveled up, I activated it.
<
<
<
<
I had originally planned to support [Insight], but it felt wasteful since it was still low-level and would probably level up quickly on its own soon.
On the other hand, high-level skills like [Parallel Thinking] would take much longer, and among them, this one was the most crucial—each level granted one additional thought stream, and the more I had, the faster my progress.
This was clearly the best choice.
<
<
<
<
Nai wa~
There's an evolution stage too?!
I mean… it's good news, but still surprising.
Immediately, I felt something stir inside me.
Not mana, not spiritual energy, but... something else entirely.
"Hello...?"
I called out hesitantly.
"Why so shy? We're the same person!"
A voice echoed in my mind—clear, firm, and eerily calm.
Nai wa!
It really replied!
"Who are you?" I asked cautiously.
"I'm you."
I froze for a moment. But thinking about the skill name [Parallel Will], it all made sense.
So this was my second, independent will.
"Perfect!" I exclaimed.
"Enough chatter. Back to work."
My other self said sharply.
"Alright, you handle the universe side, I'll finish Earth."
"Ok!"
With that, the two of us dove back into our tasks.
And then came another revelation—each will could now control ten parallel thoughts. That meant I now had twenty concurrent streams of thought running simultaneously.
No, I wasn't cheating the system—it was like I'd become a full-on multi-threaded processor!
"Niiice~"
My work speed had doubled. I used to wish for clones, but this was even better—it was me, duplicated in mind!
"Hey me, how's progress?"
I was a little bored, so I tried talking to myself.
"Still good, me."
It was weird, talking to myself.
"Figured as much."
"Nai wa! Can you read my mind too?"
"We're the same person, remember?"
"But I thought each will would think independently?"
It didn't quite match my expectations.
"I think it's because we're still sharing one body, so our thoughts are still visible to each other."
My other self replied.
That actually made sense.
And since it wasn't causing any problems, I decided to let it go.
"Right, back to work."
Okay… maybe it was getting slightly annoying.
"Hehe~"
I didn't know what to say to that.
So both of us went back to work. When bored, we'd chat again.
Being the same person, we always got along.
...Well, that should be obvious, right?
If I ever started arguing with myself, it'd be time for professional help.
…
<
<
A few more days passed, and I leveled up again. But... [Parallel Will] had leveled and yet I didn't gain a new will?
"Hey me, do you feel any different?"
"Oh, now that you mention it—I do feel... stronger, somehow."
Huh???
So leveling this skill just makes the will stronger? Or do I have to hit a certain level before gaining another one?
I really hoped for another will. It would massively boost my productivity.
Time flew. It had already been a month since I started this endeavor.
My Earth knowledge was about 90% complete.
Universe? Only 20%. But within just the Solar System, I had 40–50% already—which was enough to build the foundation for my new Earth.
…
<
<
<
Another fifteen days passed. Only two months remained now.
Pressure mounted as time dwindled, but good news: I had completed Earth's knowledge collection. My second will had also reached 30% in universe knowledge.
And Solar System data had reached 60%—more than enough for now.
Why gather data on the universe too?
Simple—future planning.
But I also discovered a trick to speed things up.
Whenever [Insight] delivered new information, I'd immediately run it through [Scan] again, pulling even more data out of it. And the more data [Insight] had access to, the more effective it became.
This feedback loop dramatically boosted efficiency.
Only took me a few days of testing to see that the process was already twice as fast.
Shame I didn't think of it sooner, but better late than never!
Overall, I'd call this a major success.
Compared to Loyral's pace, I was at least ten times faster—though, to be fair, my standards were way higher.
Heh.
Time to shift gears. I reassigned all thought streams to the universe project.
As for me, I began full-scale [Manifest] work. Until now, I had been using [Manifest] on specific sections to help it level up. Thanks to that, I was now proficient in many subsystems. I just needed to merge them into a unified model.
Easier said than done.
Merging modules introduced conflicts and inconsistencies, all of which had to be resolved carefully.
I'd also created a simple Solar System model to support my Earth replica, though it wasn't too detailed yet.
Feeling things were stable enough, I recalled all ten thought streams. Each would handle a section of the work, while I oversaw and corrected the overall structure.
Ah—this part's wrong!
That's misaligned.
Needs more stone here...
This ocean's too shallow…
Phew… Oh wait, not time for lifeforms yet!
With my thought streams assisting, phase one was already over halfway done.
All that effort had been worth it.
Seeing the results, I almost teared up.
Once over 75% was completed, I sent the thought streams to support my other will, and took on the rest by myself to ensure precision.
Everything was shaping up well, but one issue remained: realism.
To solve it, I entered the imagined world I'd created, replicating my former human form via [Manifest], then began experiencing it with all senses.
Stepping onto the ground, I felt it—soft and a bit too squishy. Not quite like real dirt.
Time to fix that.
I used [Manifest] to amplify my memory of stepping on real soil. After a few adjustments, it felt more authentic.
The ground deformed under my foot, and even stuck to my soles—though no dust remained, so more tweaking was needed.
Now it was perfect.
Next, I moved on to other elements: stone, water, temperature, atmosphere…
Each needed a few iterations to achieve full realism.
But I did it.
Total success.
Over a month of preparation, and now it was finally taking shape. I wanted to shout and celebrate—but there was no time. Next phase: create different ecosystems, and begin introducing plant life.
Let's go!
I can do this!
