Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Bloody Halloween VIII
Vortex Order–Secret Base
A long dimly lit hallway stretched into the distance with massive stone pillars on both sides of the hall. A towering door, adorned with intricate engravings, stood as the only entrance. A deep red carpet, smooth and unblemished, ran from the entrance to a grand throne, outlined in gold with a plush crimson cushion. The throne sat elevated above the floor, resting atop a set of five or six steps, a silent declaration of authority.
Below the steps, twelve chairs were arranged in a semi-circle, each slightly smaller than the grand throne. Most of them sat empty—except for three. The silence in the hall was deep, heavy, as still as a graveyard.
Hey, Jinzo."
Kagetsu's voice broke the silence, laced with impatience. He lounged on his chair in complete disregard for formality, his posture lazy, almost disorderly. His body slumped halfway across the seat, one elbow propped on the armrest, his cheek resting against his knuckles.
A dark-skinned young man, barely in his twenties, Kagetsu's body was a canvas of chaos—intricate dragon tattoos coiling around his arms, their swirling patterns shifting beneath his skin. His crimson eyes burned with an unholy hunger, a color mirrored perfectly in the dragons gaze.
The ink stretched across his body, snaking down his chest, partially obscured by a light black singlet that barely covered the wild designs.
His dark, unruly hair framed his face, cascading over his shoulders in loose strands. Half of it was tied back in a careless knot, a futile attempt to contain the madness within him.
"I'm tired of sitting around," Kagetsu muttered, his voice laced with boredom. "Isn't it time yet?"
"Kagetsu, don't rush Jinzo," a calm, measured voice responded. "He's making sure everything goes according to plan."
Dante.
He was young—barely twenty—but carried an air of discipline that far surpassed his years. Unlike Kagetsu, his black hair and black eyes held no trace of madness, only cold, calculated intent. His armor, dark as the void itself, clung to him like a second skin, its eerie design something far beyond mortal craftsmanship. It was not just protection—it was an extension of him, a living shadow forged in the abyss of his own will.
Beside him, his silver knight sword stood firm, its tip resting against the polished floor.
Jinzo exhaled slowly, his voice steady, composed—a voice that left no room for argument.
"Kagetsu, I understand your impatience, but we wait for the perfect opportunity. If we act too soon, we risk failure—and if we fail, everything we've worked for will be wasted."
Jinzo was different from the others. Older. Wiser. He carried himself with an authority that needed no reinforcement. His white hair contrasted sharply with his dark attire—a black suit, black shirt, and black trousers—as if he embodied both light and darkness in perfect balance.
In that moment, the silence returned, stretching across the great hall like an unspoken decree.

Crimson Vanguard– The Principal's Office
"The whole city is in chaos, do I send out students to help what if that's their plan, break our defense so that they can come over and steal the seal, the second and third years Alpha Squad have been keeping watch for a while now and they still haven't seen anything.
The first years wouldn't be able to hold up for long, they're outnumbered over three hundred to one."
His hands were clasped together, elbows resting on his desk as he pondered their next move. Uncertainty flickered in his widened eyes, his jaw resting on both thumbs.
Immediately, he took out a small black earpiece and placed it in his ear.
"Second Year Alpha Squad, head into the city and assist the team already on the ground. Protect the citizens and eliminate those monsters," he ordered, his voice grave.
He wasn't sure if he had made the right choice—the school needed all the defense it could get in case the Vortex Order came for the last seal. But for now, he trusted his gut. He couldn't stand by and let innocent lives keep dying while those who could help remained on the defensive.

Crimson Vanguard – the entrance gate of the school.
Ten students were stationed at the Crimson Vanguard entrance. Some stood atop the high wall, keeping watch, while others positioned themselves directly outside or near the wall's base. Among them were the five students of the Alpha Squad, hailing from both the second and third years, making up the total of ten.
The five students of the Alpha Squad from the second and third years making them ten in total.
Most people would assume the first year's mission was the hardest, but in reality, theirs was. They were tasked with guarding the school, where the last seal of Alzarel was kept. With no instructors around, like Mr. Zane, the school was at a high risk of being attacked. Their numbers were already stretched thin, and with even more cuts to their ranks, only the third-years remained on watch.

The members of Alpha Squad fought with all their strength, but it still wasn't enough. No matter how many monsters they defeated, their numbers didn't seem to decrease. Despite the ongoing battles and countless lives lost, they managed to save many people while continuing to fight fiercely.
It was like their numbers never reduced each of them nearing their limits and only about 40 percent of all the monsters had been wiped out.
Freya's sword sang through the air slicing two monsters in one swift motion. Her movements were slowing exhaustion creeping in her breath came in raged gasps as she bent forward hands on her knees, her sweat drenched hair covering her face.
"Not yet," she told herself forcing her trembling legs to stand firm "Cut down every last one of them–then you can rest"
She clutched both swords in her hands tightly slowly raising her upper body, her gaze fixed on a nearby monster lunging towards a terrified girl.
Her muscles already coiled ready to snap, she didn't need to bend her legs or anything to move fast, she could easily do it from a spot.
Before she could even move her muscles a shimmering white rope with silver outline shot past the side of her face restraining the monster in an instant.
Freya immediately looked back to see her upperclassman Valeria.
She's dressed in black and black, she wore a short skirt which barely covered her legs, her short golden brown hair and crimson eyes a perfect combo. She was the true definition of badass and also Freya's close friend.
With a firm grip she tightened the ropes that extended from her palm, severing the monster into pieces in an instant.
"Need a hand ?" Her sassy voice putting a warm smile on Freya's face.

"Woooooohooooo"
Dax voice echoing through the chaos as he leaped high into the air and descending with a hard right fist on a monster's face– apparently he wasn't tired.
Axel, a second-year who had come to assist, watched from a distance, arms crossed. With his dark hair and serious expression, Axel carried a quiet confidence. He observed Dax's wild fighting style and shook his head slightly.
"Looks like he's got this under control," Axel muttered.
Dax's fighting strategy was simple, he used one monster as a bowling ball to clear about three or four more it didn't kill them but it knocked them out for a while, buying him time to save and kill more.

Zaheer and Ryder got over themselves working hand in hand their abilities a perfect combo for a fight.
Damien was assisted by a girl Raven she wore a long black bodysuit that covered her entire body. She used powerful beams of light from her arms to burn up most of the monsters.
With that, the second years were out of the way, and the Vortex Order was ready to begin the second phase of their plan—the very reason they had started the chaos in the first place.
