The sound of cutleries was heard accompanied by happy giggles,the dinning area was filled with love and warmth as the family converse freely.. Love as their watchword

"So mom,you mean I'm having a baby sister?" Little Eve asked, stuffing her mouth with bacon

"Yes sweetie, isn't that wonderful?" Her mom beamed with smiles

Little Eve let out a happy squeal, clapping joyfully,she raised her glass of orange juice and the eight year old made a toast to the new life in the way

"Mum, Dad,cheers..!"

The happy family click their glasses together the couple intertwined their hands and drank with joy and gladness in their hearts, the couple has been trying to have another child after Eve but nothing worked out except for miscarriages,five whole painful miscarriages before this one and it was six months gone,they were certain this one will stay. If only they know what fate has in stock for them

The family's happy dinner was cut short by the loud bang on the door jolting them out of the atmosphere of excitement..into the anticipation of the unknown

The bang came yet again

"Honey,go get the door.." Eve's mom said to her husband, pulling her daughter close to herself but before the husband could take a step,a genade was thrown into the dinning area

"Get down..!"he screamed at his wife and child

The family quickly bend down as the husband flung the table cloth over them to shield them from the smoke

"It is them right?" She questioned her husband coughing loudly, placing one hand on her abdomen

"Yes..find a way to hide Eve fast"

She immediately grabbed Eve who was already shivering in fear,she pulled her daughter to the kitchen which happens to be the closest,she glance at the door continuously while opening a closet in the down part of the kitchen cabinet

"Wait here for me sweetie, mummy loves you most" She kissed Eve's forehead before putting her in the closet and pulled the door close

The Young girl could not utter a word, she just nodded her head affirmatively her mother's words to echoing in the back of her head

"Mummy loves you most"

"Arrrghhh..!"A scream resounded in the air,her mother snapped her head towards the kitchen door and her heart skipped a beat.. Her husband

The door was pushed open by masked men

"Where's She?"the middle one demanded

"She's not here.."Her mother replied,her back shielding the exact closet where she had hidden Eve

The leader signaled his goons to grab the woman,Eve instinctively shrink back in fear when an heavy blow landed on her mother's abdomen

The pregnant woman crouched in pains and her eyes went to the knife beside her

"Why did you have to betray him?, Bris could have given you anything you asked for

Just why?"? The leader rasps in agitation, turning his back to her

"I would never hand over my daughter to that monster" She let out a war cry and charged with the knife to stab him but unfortunately he turned that instance,he swiftly grabbed her hand and twisted it to the back and stab her

Little Eve let out a muffled scream as tears streamed down her face

The guy wasn't finished yet,he ripped her open with the knife and pulled the foetus out, dropping it beside the mother's lifeless body to drown in the pool of he blood

The masked men took a clean glance around the kitchen before walking away

Little Eve waited for some minutes before coming out of her hiding place to the gruelsome scene

She knelt beside her mother's lifeless body and sobbed heavily,she carried the dead foetus carefully and went out through the kitchen back door that open to the garden as soon as she went some distance into the back garden,the house blew off

"Eve, Eve..!!"Sandy yelled tapping the her slightly..the latter jerk awake panting heavily

"Hey.. you're okay, it's fine now" Sandy assured and engulfed her in a hug

"Ladies..! it's time to go"Belle announced loudly but quiet down on noticing the cold atmosphere

"What happened?"She whispered, joining in the hug

"The nightmare again"Sandy responsed, feeling emotional

Every one of them has a story which differ from another.. that left them with scars that ran deep

"It's alright,we can't afford to be weak and emotional right now,we are going on a mission"Belle said, rubbing Sandy's back

Eve sigh out " I'm fine, let's get ready, Boss is waiting"

Soon they were ready., they descend from the stairs looking regally powerful in their combat clothes,Roses and Thorn were already doing the final briefing with Lara

"You kept me waiting"Lara's voice came as a boomerang that sent shivers down their spine whilst they gulp down nothing

The three exchange glances which says ' who's gonna speak first'

Sandy step forward to speak but Eve shook her head negatively before speaking out

"I was having a nightmare.. I'm sorry Boss"her head bowed,she had feared that despite the soft spot Lara has for Sandy,she wouldn't spare her if she admitted to what she didn't do

"Does that apply to the both of you?"She questioned, pissed at them especially Eve

Tonight is a night where she'd sated her blood thirst

"We're sorry boss..!" They chorused

"Punishment will be meant out after this mission"

"Yes,boss"

Each of them grabbed the black bags on the floor filled with their guns and other necessity for the operation,they set out in a single file into the warm embrace of darkness

The SUV drove out silently to the Eastern part of the cathedral, Sandy has rebranded the SUV to become suitable for their own use

The fate of Diego is in the palms of the girls whether he get to live or die is up to Lara revenge squad

The tinted SUV drove out cutting through mother darkness,the heavens seems to agree with the girls because there was no moon in sight

The girls were quiet until Roses decided to break it "I'm so excited"

The girls took turns to glance at her

"Who wouldn't be?" Sandy stated with a loopside smile

"I know right? what could be more satisfying than ripping off the heart from the enemy's body?" Thorn countered, smiling dangerously as she thought of various ways to kill Diego

All of them shared a manically dangerous laughter

Lara stare at everyone of them through the side mirror,one thing she made sure of in creating her team is that they're family and family shares everything,pain, laughter, joy

They share them all, together

Slowly, slowly,she zoned out leaving behind the mirth, going down memory lane as the SUV moves fast leaving the trees behind

"Lara honey.., would you do daddy a favor by blowing out the candles" her dad voice came

It was her sixteen birthday and they were celebrating it happily without a care in the world not knowing it was going to be the last

"C'mon dad.., it's my birthday not yours" she replied with a smile

"Ouch..my heart,my baby is becoming naughty" her dad stated dramatically faking an heart attack making the family erupt in laughter, they digged into their meal with smiles on their faces laughing wholeheartedly

It has been a whole ten years,a decade but she still can't move on, the pains are still there in the darkest part of her heart torturing her slowly

She can't even recall the last time she smiled or laughed because she felt happy. Lara let out a small laugh void of mirth resting her head on the window frame, it's funny that people who caused the pains are still breathing, forgotten that they've inflicted pains on innocent people

Gripping her blood red jacket tight,she made the same resolution she have been making for years

'To find them and make them beg for death,to let them know nemesis has caught up with them'

"Girls..!!" She growl out, startling the girls who were carried away by the momentary pleasure

"Yes, boss"They chorus as their van seems to slow down stopping few yards away from their destination, hidden and covered by the tall trees in the pregnant darkness

"The code?" She demanded,cleching her fists till they turn white

"Giving them a dose of their own medicine and letting them beg for death" They echo loudly

"Because?" Lara deadpan

"We are their nemesis" They chorus again.. their spirit lifted in high estcasy, eyes filled with passion to kill and untold hated as they garden their hearts

They stepped down from the van after their leader

"Remember,stick to the plan and leave the rest to me" Lara instructed, taking the lead as nemesis advance towards the cathedral
