Chapter 7: Chapter Seven: Running For Life.
"Report", Tracy sat in an high back office chair in a large room filled with different kinds of devices that seemed to have been stolen from the future, right behind her were large monitors that displayed different kinds of experiments and scientific knowledge....technology so advanced it could make global superpowers feel obsolete.
Tracy was no longer in the beautiful dress from earlier but instead was in a pure white one piece uniform that resembled what Majors would wear in the army but had a scientist feel to it.
Some men in lab coats stood before her, one of them stepping forward and dropping a small circular device to the floor. It didn't reach the it though but remained floating a few centimeters off the ground, it flashed a light blue color and then a holographic screen appeared above it.
It showed various pictures of a scene in the Morgue section of the bio chemical chamber.
"Three of our men found dead and three capsules empty, one of it's occupants was found in the operating room. The remaining two are no where to be found.", As he said that, more screens branched out of the main one showing pictures of the operating room, the empty capsules and data pages of the escapees.
"They were pronounced dead, no?", Tracy's face showed no emotions, her eyes trained on the data pages of Eleanor and Alrick. The men in lab coats became nervous and didn't dare look up at her.
"Yes they were, we scanned every body before sending them to the Morgue. They were all dead", the leading man answered quickly, changing one of the screens to show a report of the scan. It indeed showed they were dead.
"...Then why are they up and about, killing my men?", her question was bone chilling and they knew a wrong answer could be detrimental but they was no right answer either. They gave none.
Tracy could only sigh, "Bring up the records of activities they both did before they were proclaimed dead then play me the surveillance video of the morgue", her words were met without delay. The first information was pulled up in a matter of seconds, her eyes scanned through them ever so quickly.
"Ahh I see... Analyze the left over ice cream from that night a few days ago, I need the results as soon as possible. Play me the surveillance tape, tell the assault team to get those kids alive.", she was about wave them off then remembered something, "Oh and freely revive all our deceased men starting now till I say so". They saluted and quickly left after playing her the surveillance footage.
She watched the video with keen interest, her eyes trained on every one of Alrick's actions prior their escape, "No doubt about it, he needs to participate in the challenge."

He never liked giving Eleanor piggy back rides and this had to be the worst one ever, he had been running none stop. Using his acute hearing to avoid most of the people they came across and those they couldn't were quickly dealt with by the tech gun in his hands.
He would always grab the necessary things like the tube of yellow pills and more weapons he could learn to operate, he also had to get more access cards because is seemed that every killed person that was discovered got their access cards blocked. Matt's card from earlier was no longer working.
He was really low on energy but the adrenaline seemed to be working him through it, his legs didn't stop no matter how much his brain tried to talk sense into them. Eleanor held on tight and was still fairly traumatized from earlier, the running and killing Alrick had to do was not really helping her case.
He wished she would snap out of it but he didn't have the time or strength to give her the wake up call she needed. He continued running not knowing how many bends and turns he had made, the lost count of the number of doors he had opened.
The footsteps following up behind only seemed to be increasing instead of decreasing like he hoped, the more turns he took the narrower his escape routes. It reached a point where he could only run straight, no path was safe again according to what he could hear, it seems they were able to track him now.
"That was fast", he knew they'd be able to pinpoint him soon. Though he never knew how they latched on to him. Was it the guns? Or maybe the access cards? He didn't have the time to worry. The hallway was ending and he didn't see any key card reader up ahead.
He was about to reach a dead end when ears soon picked up a faint sound coming from the right wall up ahead with no key card, two foot steps only not in a rush. The wall was about to open up, a secret entrance? He needed to move fast.
He increased his speed with everything he got, his body bending to the right. Those that were tracking them down from the ship's surveillance rooms widened their eyes in shock as they saw the direction he was heading. A man then opened the communicators of almost everyone on the ship.
"They are heading towards the restricted zone, I repeat, they are heading towards the restricted zone, Section 0. Men exiting from there, close it immediately! Stop them at all costs", his warning stunned everyone on the ship.
The ones chasing him realized the part of the ship they were in and cursed, he had to be stopped. The two men exiting from the restricted zone were shocked but quickly tried to close the entrance that had opened a considerable bit.
Just as they about to relax in the final moments of the entrance closing, Alrick's figure bolted through the door like a bull on steroids accompanied by turrets of fire power from behind which he dived down to dodge leaving the poor scientists on the receiving end.
Their bodies were riddled with holes as they collapsed to the ground. Alrick who was holding Eleanor in his arms while sitting against a wall in the bright long hallway, watched them crumble as he tried to catch his breath.
He turned towards the now closed wall, no one had come in after him yet. Like he had guessed it wasn't accessible to many, it seemed the ones that had been chasing him were small fry and the dead scientists on the floor seemed to have somewhat of a high ranking.
Now he had another question on his mind, it's obvious he wasn't supposed to be here judging by how agitated his pursuers had become when he reached the wall. They even actively opened fire aiming at his vitals when they had never done so before.
It was clear at first that they wanted to take him alive but that goal of theirs was overridden when he got closer to this place and they aimed to kill him before he did.
What ever was in here must be really something then.
He stood up and guided a still dazed Eleanor onto his back after looting the dead scientists on the floor, he knew that this grace period wasn't going to last long an he needed to start moving.
He steadied himself and slowly limped down the bright hallway, hoping not to get into anymore trouble. What he didn't notice behind him were the bright golden tiny orbs that floated out from the two scientists body and down into the floor, it seemed incorporeal as it passed through every barrier below the ship before reaching the very bottom.
The room was large and dark with a bottom that looked impossible to reach, metallic bridges were suspended mid air all leading to an overly large transparent oval chamber, it's insides glowed with an ethereal gold colored energy. The tiny orbs floated into the chamber, accompanying their brethren in their peaceful flow.

"Professor Link and Peter have been confirmed dead by the system, their imprints have been transferred to the chamber and is currently undergoing psychoanalysis to avoid any problems during the assimilation process to the new bodies", Tracy watched the woman on her holographic screen who explained the situation to her.
"Have you blocked their access cards?", Tracy asked, her eyes never leaving the screen. The woman gulped and quickly explained, "Not yet... My team and I have blocked so many of them today, the system is trying to adjust so it's taking some time to block them.", her voice was shaky not daring to look Tracy in the eye.
Tracy drummed her fingers on the edge of the arm rest and sighed, "This kid is causing too much trouble, I shouldn't have let any able bodied individual stay behind that time", she mumbled to herself forgetting the frightened woman on the screen before her.
"C-captain... Should we allow the assault team access into the restricted area?", the question was met with a glare from Tracy.
"And here I thought you were amongst my best minds, those brutes might ruin my life's research if I let them go in there after those vermin. Instead, tell every scientist there to put down the research and leave the area. I'll go in myself", Her words stunned the entire support team that had been in the room with the woman on the screen.
"Y-yes captain, I'll send a message now Section 0", she said as she ended the transmission call with Tracy. Tracy stood up and stretched, turning her head towards screens that displayed Alrick evading her men then getting into section 0.
"Is it just me or is this kid a monster? He seems to have been made in a lab but was actually conceived by an ordinary uterus, is someone expecting me to believe that bullshit?", She said to herself as she watched the feed of him carrying an incapacitated Eleanor with a body that was shutting down but still had tenacity to keep on moving.
"He's worthy of being my personal test subject," she said, lips curling into a disfigured smile. She turned away from the screens and strode out, pulling her cap down with finality.
