Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Of Lions, Wings, and Echoes from the Heavens
Part I — The Choice of Regressed Flame
The moment lingered like a still flame.
Bai Tian Long stood silently, his gaze locked on the three cubs. The Eye of Knowledge flickered before his vision—each detail perfectly engraved in his mind. The stats shimmered, illuminating the spiritual potential, temperaments, and soul responses of the three tiny creatures.
His eyes fell again on the last cub—the runt, the one with a seemingly low cultivation level but the mysterious and rare Ancient Regressive Bloodline.
> Regressed… but ancient. Timid… but fiercely loyal. Dormant now… but what lies beneath?
Tian Long knelt beside the tiny lion cub, watching its faint chest rise and fall. Among the three, it alone seemed to tremble slightly, not from fear—but as if sensing his internal conflict.
"Then it's you," Bai Tian Long whispered. "You'll be the first."
The runt didn't respond, yet its body stilled, as if breathing in his resolve.
But just as Bai Wu approached with the contract scrolls, Bai Tian Long raised a hand.
"Wait. Grandfather—I want to find the second one first."
Bai Wu blinked. "You're not going to contract both here?"
Tian Long shook his head. "I've already chosen a Lion-type—an Earth-and-Fire dominant. What I need now… is an Aerial-type. Mobility, speed, coverage. Without one, I'll be lacking in battlefield maneuverability."
He looked toward the mist beyond the enclosure.
"If our clan had a strong Water-type, I'd have considered it. But none of them are strong enough to be worth bonding."
Bai Wu nodded in approval, lips curling faintly. "You've thought this through."
"I must," Tian Long said firmly. "I want balance. Strength. Survivability. I want to fight alongside them, not drag them behind me."
Bai Wu gestured. "Then come. We'll search together."
They stepped into the deeper zones of the Beast Garden, mist swirling around them like trailing silk.

Part II — A Garden of Wings and Lightning
The path led them through rising cliffs and carved walkways. Here the ground sloped upward into rocky hills—ideal for nesting beasts. A chorus of distant wingbeats echoed overhead. Bai Tian Long looked up and saw shadows circling in the morning sky.
"Welcome to the Skyward Terrace," Bai Wu said. "This section houses the aerial-class and high-agility beasts. Most haven't fully adapted yet."
The terrace spanned several kilometers, arranged in tiered platforms that rose toward the back of the valley. Caves and crag perches lined the stone, each marked with spiritual sigils.
As they moved between habitats, flocks of minor Wind Hawks darted overhead. Thunder Falcons perched watchfully on twisted pine trees. Bai Tian Long paused to examine a few juveniles, but none resonated.
Until—
A faint pulse. A tug inside his chest. His steps faltered.
He turned toward a half-collapsed enclosure lined with jagged crystal growths. From the shadows, a sharp, glowing gaze met his own. Then two.
And then a third.
A flock of three Sky Piercer Kite Eagles—rare Wind-and-Lightning hybrids—watched them with silent curiosity.
Their leader, clearly older, had faint scars over one wing. Its feathers shimmered faintly with blue-gold electricity.
"Ah," Bai Wu murmured. "That one. I remember it from the Thunder Ridge migration. It's not native to the Bai Clan—it just arrived two years ago. Wild, hard to tame."
Bai Tian Long's eyes narrowed as he stepped closer.
His Eye of Knowledge activated again—this time voluntarily. The leader's stats came into view:
> Race: Sky Piercer Kite Eagle (Mutated Subtype)
Cultivation: Mid Foundation Establishment
Affinities: Wind (Dominant), Lightning (Hybrid)
Potential: High Foundation Establishment, Low Core Formation Chance
Temperament: Wary, battle-tested, bad temper
He exhaled softly. Perfect.
"not this one"
"You sure?" Bai Wu asked. "That bird has drawn blood and is strong"
"I don't need strength," Bai Tian Long said. "I need a partner "

Part III — Above the Mortal Realms, 9th Dimension
The air shimmered with gold beyond the mortal sky.
Within the inner sanctum of the Heaven-Shaming Peak, a towering bull-like figure knelt on a marble platform lined with jade lotus patterns.
Divine Bull Niu Tian, his horns gleaming with runes, turned toward his master.
"Master Tian Long," he said, voice deep, "I humbly request leave… to visit a certain region."
The old dragon—Tian Long, robed in white with cosmic sigils drifting from his sleeves—didn't even lift his gaze from the lotus tea steaming in his hand.
"I know where you're going," he said calmly. "And if you're going there, bring them something worthy. Don't show up empty-hooved."
Niu Tian chuckled, scratching the side of his thick neck.
"And while you're at it," Tian Long added, "notify the others."
The bull froze.
"…The others?"
Tian Long finally looked up, eyes like molten suns. "Yes. Them. The ones scattered across the universe, bound to their watching posts."
A pulse of pressure swept through the divine chamber.
Niu Tian swallowed. "Understood."
As he stepped away from the palace, the bull muttered to himself.
"So it's starting again, huh?"
His eyes gleamed with a mixture of tension and nostalgia.
Among those watchers was his boss—a beast unlike any other. A Five-clawed Golden Dragon, a supreme being of pride and thunder and sky, Niu Tian had followed him since his youth.
> Wonder what Boss'll say when he hears… He might just burn half a moon in celebration.
Laughing to himself, the Divine Bull launched off the divine platform, hooves leaving trails of violet lightning.
> Maybe I'll drop by the Divine Bull Clan too. Could use a good mate… or at least a couple promising cubs. These kids need companions worthy of their bloodlines.
He vanished into the dimensional corridors, carrying the first summons toward destiny.

At this time Bai Tian Long was still searching for a compatible arial beast but no suitable one was found, at this time an visiter appeared near him from the sky's casting a long shadow.
It was the thunder winged egale it looked at Bai Tian Long with contemplative gaze the backend at him with his beak, and crouched with his back towards Bai Tian Long
Bai Tian Long looked at the egale and understood, the thunder winged egale wanted him to ride on his back to someplace.
