Chapter 758 - From Boss to Punching Bag
On the giant screen, the focus shifted to Charmelyn as she unleashed a flurry of attacks on the opposing team with lightning-fast movements, accompanied by her seemingly endless duplicates.
Just as her opponents managed to mount a defense, she would vanish without a trace, only to reappear in another part of the arena, catching another team off guard. Her sudden attacks left her enemies reeling, completely unprepared for the chaos she brought.
Even though the opposing players were all above level 200, Charmelyn's ability to disappear and reappear unpredictably—combined with her clones' relentless distractions—allowed her to take out the enemy team's support player with precision.
Meanwhile, Melliandra darted across floating platforms in the air, creating havoc that left the opponents torn between defending against aerial assaults or ground-level attacks. The confusion proved fatal when Charmelyn closed in on a group working on a puzzle and brutally eliminated all three players. Their names and profiles on the screen instantly turned red, signaling their elimination from the match.
The crowd erupted in cheers as they witnessed the merciless rampage led by Charmelyn and Melliandra.
"Charmelyn and Melliandra are delivering an incredible performance! Their combination is absolutely deadly. But the real question is—how is Charmelyn teleporting around the arena?" Brando exclaimed.
Paul smirked and leaned back casually. "There hasn't been an official statement from the Vensalor Guild, but my guess? Charmelyn is the new Divine Champion—the Envy Champion."
"Oh, so the rumors about the Divine Champion powers being transferable are true? Does this mean Charmelyn managed to claim it for herself?" Brando asked, eyes wide with curiosity.
Paul gave a knowing smile and raised his hands. "I'm not in a position to confirm anything. Let the people decide for themselves."
"This is absolutely fascinating! This battle is nothing like we expected. Are we witnessing the rise of another Divine Champion in this arena?!" Brando's voice rose above the roaring crowd.
[Syrestage]: "Those poor puzzle guys were just trying to mind their own business and solve Sudoku or something, then BOOM—Charmelyn said 'No puzzles today, only pain.'"
[WhitakerD]: "As a support main, watching this hurts. Charmelyn took 'kill the healer first' and turned it into a whole personality."
[David_Howe_1003]: "Can we get a moment of silence for that team? Actually, never mind—Charmelyn already gave them eternal silence."
[Carl_Chalmers]: "The real puzzle was figuring out how to survive for more than 30 seconds. Spoiler: they didn't."
[Michael_Mason_4134]: "Team Destroyer? More like Team Destroy-everything-you-love. This is a massacre, not a match."
[Drop_BearX]: "Charmelyn and Melliandra aren't playing to win; they're playing to make sure their enemies need therapy after this."
[Mason_Rogers_7744]: "Honestly, if I were on that team, I'd just logout and go make a sandwich. No point fighting when you're already in a highlight reel."
While it was clear that Hollow and the other attackers were still holding their ground against Goldrich and his allies, Charmelyn relentlessly continued her assault. Now, she had even infiltrated Team ShadowFang, wreaking havoc as she attempted to take them down one by one.
From the frontline, Hollow appeared to be losing his patience as he witnessed this chaos unfold, launching an even more ferocious attack in frustration.
However, the tide of the battle shifted dramatically when ScarletDusk was suddenly exposed from her invisibility state, only to be met with a merciless onslaught from both Melliandra and Charmelyn.
Despite her teammates' best efforts, they couldn't save ScarletDusk. In the end, the Lust Champion was obliterated, her presence erased from the arena entirely.
The audience collectively gasped, stunned by the sheer brutality of what they had just witnessed—executed by only two players.
With ScarletDusk's defeat, Hollow suddenly found himself at a severe disadvantage. His once-aggressive offense faltered, and he quickly transitioned into a defensive stance, his movements no longer carrying the same ferocity as before.
"ScarletDusk has been taken down!" Brando shouted. "And now, Hollow is losing momentum and shifting to a defensive mode!"
"I think this might be the end for Hollow too," Paul remarked calmly.
Right on cue, the giant monster that had been dominating the battlefield disappeared, followed closely by the Envy Champion, Hollow himself.
The arena erupted into deafening cheers as the crowd celebrated the thrilling conclusion of the fight.
"But, Paul," Brando pressed, his tone shifting to one of curiosity, "if Team Destroyer keeps up this rampage, do you think they'll actually be able to defeat the Raid Boss at the end? Because if they can't take it down, this match will still end without a single winner."
"Well," Paul said with a slight smirk, "let's hope they have a plan for that."
[Epsilon13]: "The way Team Destroyer is playing, I wouldn't be surprised if the Raid Boss just logs off out of fear."
[Tsniper]: "The other teams are playing a game. Team Destroyer is writing obituaries."
[Eye_of_Wolf]: "At this point, it's not Team Destroyer; it's Team Disrespect."
[Nuke4757]: "Hollow watching his entire team get wiped out like: 'I didn't sign up for this.'"
[Tim_Holman]: "Team Destroyer out here speedrunning the elimination of players like they forgot there's still a whole Raid Boss waiting to clap them."
The match continued as Team Destroyer advanced through the game, successfully solving the puzzle and moving on to face the Raid Boss.
Meanwhile, the remaining teams? They were reduced to mere remnants, with only a handful of players left from the four original groups. Team Destroyer had already annihilated ShadowFang, leaving no chance for recovery.
But in a surprising twist, Kingsley, the team's tank, took on the Raid Boss head-on, holding its attacks singlehandedly while the rest of the team unleashed a relentless barrage of damage. The Raid Boss, which should have been a formidable challenge, was reduced to nothing more than a punching bag for Team Destroyer.
Even with just five members, the Raid Boss failed to mount any significant resistance against them. As for the remnants of the other teams who had finally completed the puzzle? They didn't dare to approach, too terrified of suffering the same fate as ShadowFang at the hands of Team Destroyer.
In the end, Team Destroyer triumphed. They defeated the Raid Boss in spectacular fashion, and their team name lit up the arena in a burst of colorful confetti, announcing them as the victors of the match.
The crowd was stunned into silence for a moment before Brando's voice cut through the air, roaring with excitement to celebrate their win. His energy ignited the audience, who quickly joined in with deafening cheers.
The second-place finishers were one of the few surviving teams who had dealt only minimal damage to the Raid Boss, clearly more focused on staying alive than taking risks. But all eyes remained on Team Destroyer, whose dominance had left an unforgettable mark on the arena. Find your next read on My Virtual Library Empire
Maylon and Euna, seated among the spectators, continued their discussion as the match wrapped up.
Maylon sighed and said, "They should've known by now that Melliandra has that kind of attack range. They didn't even try to counter her. On top of that, she's got massive physical damage that can ignore defense entirely."
"I think the opponents underestimated them because they're only five players," Euna replied thoughtfully.
"That's probably it," Maylon agreed, nodding. "What they didn't account for is that the current Vensalor Guild members almost all have at least Unique-grade weapons. They completely overlooked the significance of that. Even though Broken didn't show up in person, he was definitely present through his crafted weapons."
Euna chuckled softly. "If Broken had actually shown up, the match would've been over in half the time, don't you think?"
