Legendary FBI Detective

Chapter 214: Disposable Phone and Coney Island

Brooklyn, Midtown.

Due to Earley Louis's assassin experience and strength, this operation includes Luo An, Reesi, Reesi, and Mona all participating.

Two fully armed SWAT teams, one in front and one behind, surrounded the three-story apartment.

Luo An and Mona stood at the front door, while Reesi and Reesi guarded the back door.

One of the SWAT members held a plastic explosive, carefully affixed it to the front door, then slowly backed away while pulling the detonator cord, standing behind the foremost SWAT member who held a ballistic shield.

Seeing the prepared signal from the SWAT member, Luo An immediately spoke into the communicator:

"Begin the operation!"

Boom!

As soon as the words were out, the SWAT member immediately pressed the explosion button, and the apartment's front door was blown to pieces, with the shield-bearing SWAT member rushing in first.

The team at the back door also stormed into the apartment at the same time.

"FBI!"

"Earley Louis! We are the FBI!"

Luo An's group, all fully armed, quickly followed the SWAT team into the apartment.

The apartment was spacious, with a basement in addition to the first, second, and third floors.

"Go to the basement!"

"Upstairs! Upstairs!"

"First squad, move! Move!"

Luo An, holding a Glock 18, quickly checked the living room and kitchen on the first floor, his eyebrows furrowed at the sight of the still-running dishwasher, then asked through the communicator:

"Any findings?"

"Nothing."

The response came from Reesi, who had gone to the basement:

"There's nothing here, I've checked thoroughly!"

Then came Mona's response:

"Top floor, third floor, nothing! It's safe!"

"Front hall clear, safe!"

"Second floor bedroom clear, safe!"

Hearing these, Luo An furrowed his brows and pressed his communicator:

"Living room and kitchen clear, safe."

"Fu-k!"

Coming out of the cloakroom, Reesi looked upset:

"The house is empty, Earley Louis must have already run."

Mona came down the stairs, saying:

"I checked the bedroom, there's no sign he packed any luggage."

Beside her, Reesi shook his cell phone and suggested:

"Should we contact airports, train stations, and the like to issue a warrant for Earley Louis?"

"Do it."

Luo An nodded, then suddenly picked up a red and white box from the kitchen trash can and handed it to Mona, asking:

"Is this a disposable phone box?"

In the federal market, phones are mostly sold bundled with carrier services, hence the buyer's personal information is also registered in the carrier's database, similar to a real-name system implemented by a certain eastern country.

Disposable phones, meanwhile, are non-contract models or short-term service bundled models, mainly provided for tourists or other temporary phone users.

Since there's no service contract, or only a short-term contract of just over a month, the management of buyer's personal information isn't as strict, hence the potential for misuse is significantly larger.

Anyway, according to FBI internal data, the bulk of disposable phone sales are not actually assassins or gangsters from various places, but those unruly, inhumane CIA members.

"Hmm?"

Hearing Luo An's words, Reesi and Reesi simultaneously looked up at the box in Luo An's hand.

"It definitely is a disposable phone!"

Mona's eyes lit up, and she gave Luo An's arm a fierce slap:

"Really attentive!"

Luo An chuckled and handed the box to Mona, asking:

"How about that? Can you locate them using this box?"

"Of course!"

Mona ran back to the SUV, took out a laptop from inside, and said with a smile:

"The packaging box has the electronic serial number of this disposable phone. Give me three minutes, and I can definitely find them!"

"But"

Reesi leaned over to the computer and whispered:

"If Earley Louis left after killing someone last night, he's had enough time to leave the state… Are we going to have to take a trip then?"

"No, Earley Louis hasn't been gone long."

Hearing this, Luo An shook his head. Seeing the puzzled looks from Reesi and the others, he walked over to the dishwasher and said:

"This dishwasher was manually set to run for thirty-five minutes. When I entered the kitchen just now, it had just stopped."

"What?"

Reesi looked at the dishwasher, then at Luo An, stunned. Leigh, who was on the phone and unable to speak, also gave Luo An a thumbs up.

"Luo An is right!"

After hanging up, Leigh walked over to Luo An, about to speak, when Mona stopped typing and said:

"I sent a test data packet to that phone, and they've just replied.

According to the location, Earley Louis is now at… South Brooklyn's Coney Island!"

Coney Island, also known as Koney Island, is an island facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is a federal leisure area known for its high temperatures, abundant sunlight, and numerous entertainment facilities, making it very suitable for family outings.

"Fu--k!"

Hearing that Earley Louis had headed to that place filled with children, Reesi's expression changed drastically, and Leigh's face turned as dark as the bottom of a pot.

"SWAT team members, let's head to Coney Island immediately!"

Luo An's heart skipped a beat, but as the commander, he absolutely could not panic. Thus, he said with a stern face:

"Mona, immediately contact NYPD to blockade this apartment, keep locating Earley Louis, and provide remote support!

Leigh, Reesi, you're coming with me to Coney Island!"

"Understood!"

"No problem!"

As soon as the words fell, two teams of SWAT members rushed out of the apartment back to their trucks. Leigh ran towards one SUV, while Luo An and Reesi quickly entered another.

With the SUV's accelerator floored, they swiftly merged onto the highway towards Coney Island.

Reesi buckled up, just about to speak, but saw Luo An already driving and pulling out his phone to call Vireness.

It's time to ask for some big help.

"Chief, it's me, Luo An."

"What's wrong?"

From the other end of the phone, Vireness put down her pen and asked in a focused tone:

"What problem have you encountered?"

Luo An briefly explained the situation, then said:

"If Earley Louis starts shooting there... it might have some very bad effects."

After hearing Luo An's explanation over the phone, Vireness furrowed her brows, feeling a headache coming on.

But now was not the time to discuss these issues. Vireness stood up from her seat, walking out of her office while saying:

"I will send more SWAT teams to support and seal off that area and try to keep the New York media out as much as possible. But you also need to minimize the chances of hostage situations or casualties among the team members.

If you're not sure, send me a message immediately and I'll dispatch someone else to command the operation. Understood?"

At this time, in Vireness's eyes, Luo An was the most important. She didn't want Luo An to face any problems during this operation that could cause him long-term setbacks.

"I understand Thank you Chief."

Luo An chuckled, that's the benefit of having powerful support—it not only provides help but even prepares contingency plans.

On the passenger seat, Reesi sighed after hearing Vireness's words over the phone. She wished she had encountered such a good chief before.

But on second thought, Reesi was also glad since Luo An was her teammate. As long as nothing unexpected happened, the more benefits Luo An received, the more she could share in the spoils.

Suddenly, Reesi's phone rang. It was a call from Mona, her tone very urgent:

"Luo An! NYPD received a call thirty seconds ago, reporting a shootout at Coney Island!"
