Chapter 117: Universal Communication skill
Lucas had no other way to practice his combat skills. And finding creatures to practice on could be meant that he was going hunting and it wasn't really efficient.
For starters, he would have to first find them and then fight to practice but things didn't really go to a person's normal ways.
If a creature like the Basilon comes to attack him, then it would be tough to just practice on it as the motive of survival would be the top most priority.
That was the reason why Lucas went and took all the close-range fighters into some friendly fights. They all thought it would just be some normal fights but day by day, it became very serious.
With the presence of a healer, it was easy to get healed no matter how severe the injury was.
Popped a bone? Only takes a minute to fix. Cracked some bones? Don't worry, just a few minutes and it fixes like it was never even there from the start. Cut skin? Battered body?
Flesh ripped off? It was all nothing in front of Ella's healing if taken care of quickly.
This also helped her practice her healing skills which was the main one in all of her skills. If ignored one of the melee skills that she shouldn't have gotten in the first place.
In order to help Ella protect herself better, John made her learn the basics of spearmanship with him and alas it wasn't unregistered as she gained the spear mastery skill.
Now she had no choice but to practice it with everyone else but John was the only one who fought with her.
The days were going nice and the trade, the skill proficiency increase was just smooth. It was like nothing was left in the forest to take care of.
Lucas's sister even told him that the goblins didn't disturb him any further and there was not a single one seen near their base for days now.
So was the case with the Orcs near his father and mother and the kobolds were already far away or better, dead.
Lucas was sure that nothing was coming for them, unlike some small animals that John caught with his traps that had multiplied all this time, becoming an indirect source of his experience gained and leveling up the trap skill.
Lucas didn't think whether the small animals even knew that they had the objective but nothing could be said so far as he didn't know about it.
'What will happen if I could start understanding them?' Lucas thought. The thought was not a lost cause as Lucas knew what reward he would get after completing phase two.
The Universal communication skill, it sounded too good and made him wonder if he and the others would be able to talk with small and somewhat intelligent animals or intelligent species like the Kobolds, Goblins, and Orcs.
"What are you thinking right now, Lucas?" Sarah asked after sitting down with him after the intense fight with Jerry.
"What makes you think that I am thinking something?" Lucas asked with an amused expression.
"Hehehe~ It's written all over your face. I hope it doesn't come as a surprise but you are not very good at hiding your expression." Sarah said after nudging her shoulder at his hard.
They had got pretty close to each other and Sarah thought Lucas to be the closest person in this world after his brother. She had some friends that she talked to with the talk function in her free time but Lucas was the second when it came to affection.
"Ouch, I always thought to have a good poker face. Clearly, I suck at it." Lucas said, his face dejected and down.
"O-Oh, I was joking just joking! Don't feel bad! You got a good p-poker face, Lucas!" Sarah said in a panic.
Lucas's face started shaking and Sarah thought he was crying but she was surprised looking at him laugh his ass off while holding his stomach.
"Hahahahaha... You... You... You are so gullible!" Lucas said, his laughing had made everyone look at him with different emotions.
"I have not seen him laugh for so long, what changed?" John said while eating a meat peace with a grin. Ella was like always sitting beside him while his sons were god knows where.
"We women have a way of manipulating men's hearts," Ella said after keeping her head on John's shoulder.
John wanted to playfully retort but her action had made him calm and feel good so he just left his ego aside and placed a hand on her waist.
Sandra was not having a good time looking at them both laughing when his brother had just died a few days ago. In her heart, she still blamed Lucas that his brother died and she didn't know why.
Lucas was the main help aside from his brother and what he said about him being infected before all this made her pissed again and again.
"Just let it go." She heard a voice from behind.
"What?" Your next chapter awaits on empire
"Others have the right of being happy, you can't expect everyone to be sad all the time."
"Tch" Sandra activated her skill and meditated around the death of the creatures that the group had killed and had the remains near.
No matter the substance, it could just be a flesh piece but it was like a connection for the dead with the body, and lucky for Sandra, she was able to feel and even look at them.
Contact and communication were the only things remaining for her skills before she could actually do something productive with it.
Haley was engrossed in her cooking and making the stuff disappear and appear. She only had three skills in total and was one of the only lucky people unlike some like Lucas who had near 10 skills.
But everything was still going well and so did the other places. It seemed it was a season of training. The only question was that what would happen when it ends?
