Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 155: The dungeon's new level

It was a fine day, the forest seemed as peaceful as before, and the sun shone brighter making many sweat profusely.

The forest that was burned now had all kinds of grass, plants, and herbs in it. Even the saplings of the thin trees were starting to grow back.

The shelter's group was traveling in a particular direction. This direction was very familiar, many trees had a red colored marking that seemed old and the groups traveled while locating these marks as if it was the navigation for their direction. Stay updated via My Virtual Library Empire

The group's formation was as simple as it could be, with Lucas at the very front because of being the best front fighter as well as the leader, then Jerry, John, and Haley in three directions.

Jerry was right behind Lucas, John to the left, and Haley to the right.

The supports were inside that triangle and that also included the ones that couldn't fight.

At the end was Bill, with his ability of stealth and high sensitivity to what was happening inside the shadows around him.

The forest was very peaceful and not a single creature confronted them, it had been very rare when they saw a creature with less intelligence, hell it was even more difficult to find the intelligent ones like the kobolds, Orcs, and Goblins.

It was weird as the other people that were far away from the shelter were still getting attacked by these creatures unlike the ones that inhabited the shelter and Lucas didn't know the meaning behind it.

It was as if something was scaring these creatures yet also attracting the dumb ones that had the idea in their brains that they were the apex predators.

The group marched toward their destination for many minutes until Lucas finally stopped, the place looked the same as any other part of the forest with only one exception.

The brick-made gateway with a door that was always open, it was the dungeon that they had been going to and were still planning to go in.

"You all are in the party already, so whatever happens, don't break the group and if we will get split or something, call anyone in the party for information," Lucas stated, his eyes resolute while looking at the entrance.

No one said anything other than some humphs and groans of nods in response.

He moved his hand up straight and then quickly moved in the direction of the dungeon to point at it.

With the signal, the whole group marched together inside the dungeon with next to no fear.

With the training that everyone had gone through, it was tough to not have even a tad bit of confidence in themselves.

When Lucas took the first step inside the darkness before he could react, he got teleported inside the dungeon yet he was ready for this development.

Lucas with his previous experiences kept his eyes closed in order to not get dizzy again and after three seconds and feeling the ground beneath him, Lucas opened his eyes only to be greeted with the red blazing lights inside the dungeon, the walls were the same, the torches were the same, even the flames had the same color like before.

Lucas looked around and soon found the other warping out of nowhere near or far from him.

"What the hell..."

Lucas looked at Jerry dumbfoundedly, then at John and Haley who came to existence and Lucas had to blink various times in order to grasp the situation.

It was like his brain couldn't handle the speed at which he was looking at them coming in front of his vision just like a high-resolution computer which could make the brain hurt while using if the person doesn't have an experience with such high-tech computers.

When everyone already inside was trying to grasp the situation, the others landed one by one, and soon, the big room was filled with 11 people.

"What now?" Sarah asked with a hand on her face, fearing that she could vomit anytime now.

The blatant teleportation was very cool but when someone had eaten his fill and entered it then it was like the whole stomach was shaken to the brim and was also made upside down making a person very dizzy.

Many were alright but many needed time to get accustomed which Lucas didn't mind, he wanted to drag things as much as possible thinking that there was very less information about this level of the dungeon.

"Hmm..."

"What?" John asked Mike with some hope.

"This is confusing, I don't get it." Mike responded disappointing many but they all reread the information except Lucas.

"Many doors have to open and not all of them will have happiness..." Lucas repeated what was written on the objective picking the interest of many.

"What does this mean, Lucas?"

"Well, I am only firing randomly but it can be possible that we are going inside a maze."

Lucas stated with slight confidence making many have the same feeling.

"Really?" Ella asked with a straight face but Lucas could tell her excitement through her eyes.

"I really don't know but it's a relief that we are all together. Things will be clear when the timer is over."

Everyone had many conversations after sitting on the makeshift furniture that Haley brought with her.

Her spacial storage skill had already leveled up thrice making it much bigger than before.

The room that they were in was not that big in size, just a bit bigger than the room they all slept in inside the shelter.

There was no opening, no exits, there was nothing other than the cement-made walls and the torches.

As the minutes ticked away, the atmosphere in the room became a mix of excitement, nervousness, and determination.

The group was already in a tight spot, with a bad experience the previous time they came to the dungeon, there was still fear in everyone's heart that tried to seep out but all the courage they had because of their leader's confidence made this emotion of being scared just be locked inside their hearts for the time being.

Finally, the timer reached zero, and a subtle shift in the surroundings caught their attention. The walls seemed to shimmer, and an ethereal door materialized in the center of the room. Its surface emanated a faint glow, and intricate patterns adorned its edges.

Lucas stood up, his gaze fixed on the mysterious door. "Well, it looks like this is our first door to open."

The other got up too and looked at the majestic-looking door. It was about 5 meters long that was a bit big when compared to normal doors. Even the shelter's door was only 4 meters long.

There was a white glow on the door which made it look like an entrance to heaven and the unknown runic language on the borders of the doors didn't make the case any better.

Without hesitation, Lucas approached the door, his hand reaching out to touch its surface.

The others had their weapons ready for any type of situation, Sarah had formed a ball of fire in her open palm while Mike had his hand ready to shoot a fir bullet at the moment's notice.

As Lucas's fingers finally made contact with the door, a surge of mana left through his body, and the door responded with a soft hum. The patterns on its edges glowed brighter, and the door swung open slowly.

Lucas first felt how his mana was getting sucked by the door and when the realization hit him the other second, he tried to retract his hand only to be stuck on the knob of the big door.

He was going to scream to make the others help and pull him but the next second, his grip on the knob loosened on its own and he retracted his hand quickly in order to remain safe.

"What happened?"

"I just got stuck! This door was taking my mana on its own!" Lucas exclaimed and stepped back making the other do the same thing.

CREAAAAKKK!!

Suddenly, the door started opening on its own just like the horror movies until it was open wide.

Beyond the door was a corridor that stretched into darkness. The group gathered around, peering into the dark passage with some very complicated emotions.

"Now who would like tp enter first?"
