Chapter 236: Rewards
Both the people outside the circle marveled while looking at the glow, it was something they had not seen with Lucas before.
His swords always brute their way in winning yet now they were glowing.
When the skeleton got in the radius and made the slash, Lucas jumped for the first time, he had grown so accustomed to his moves that it was boring.
When the sword moved past his feet and he got down, Lucas had already made a curved slash with both of the swords together flaunting his muscles and flexibility to the extreme.
The skeleton who was unprepared still brought its sword in front of its body to protect it.
Lucas like usual, with all the strength in his body smacked his swords right at the center of the blade.
All the force of gravity, his movements, the sword, and the aura made Lucas to achieve something he too was not prepared for, much less the bystanders.
SCHWING!
CRACK!
The sword's blade broke completely and the skeleton looked at it for a lot of time as if not understanding what happened.
Lucas got down and didn't attack, he needed to know what the skeleton was going to do now that his sword was gone.
The skeletons finally looked at Lucas and moved again with a stab this time disappointing Lucas.
"With only a few moves you have, there is no way you can defeat me." Lucas said while he dodged the stabs one after another.
He had grown accustomed to the attacks made by the skeleton without any trouble yet he was tired so it was not time to end things for real.
SCHWING!!
Both the swords connected and horizontally shot toward the skeleton's ribs.
CRACKK!!
Many cracking sounds came from it making shivers run down everyone's spine. It made them wonder what it would sound like if their ribs were to break like this.
The skeleton broke in half and fell to the ground the next second without any backbone or spine to erect itself on the ground.
Lucas looked at it with seriousness, the skeleton had not stopped looking at Lucas even after breaking in half.
Without surprising Lucas anymore, the skeleton with the help of the ground and its hands pushed itself off the ground.
CRACK
Lucas used the broad surfaced side of his sword to smack the skeleton away, involuntarily breaking the skull apart after attacking it.
[+100 EXP]
"Oh my god, I got 50 EXP just for standing!" Sarah shouted making Lucas glance to the back in surprise.
"I got 70."
"You both stole my EXP! Shit!" Lucas shouted with annoyance not expecting that they would get so much EXP.
Lucas looked toward the chest that now that he observed properly did not look like those in the dungeons. It was very plain in design with wood as the exterior and some colors.
It looked like a chest that was kept in a pirate ship for a decade.
TING TING TING
"Hm?"
Lucas clicked yes on the call and a questioning voice came from the other side.
-"Lucas, we all got 2 EXP suddenly without doing any hunting, was it your doing?"-
"Uncle John, you too?"
-"Not just me, everyone in the party."-
'Oh right, the party.'
"Nothing much, Uncle John. Just killed a Boss monster with a chest."
-"What?! You didn't tell me about this in the last call yesterday?"-
"I wanted to give a surprise. We will be getting some new stuff back, let's see if anything is of the shelter or territory's use this time."
-"Alright, just be careful, ah, who am I kidding? Just come whenever you want, everything is fine here."
"Good to know, alright bye!"
Lucas disconnected the call and looked at the duo with a frown not forgetting that they got a whopping +50 and +70 boost to the EXP practically doing nothing. Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire
"It just happened on its own, why are you looking at us as if we are thieves?" Bill asked frowning back on his own.
"What was that glow on your sword, Lucas? Did you get a new skill while fighting the monster?!" Sarah asked with sparkling eyes, she was too excited.
"Not a new skill, I got this skill when we went to the dungeon raid. But it was the first time I used it in a while."
"So you are telling me you could have killed the creature the second you both came here? Seems like you wasted a lot of time huh…" Bill said while giving a side-long glance to Sarah as if trying to make her realize this.
"Didn't you listen to him before, he needed to train. That's why you stayed all this time, right Lucas?"
Lucas went to her and patted her head with a nod, "Made 2 level advancements with my two sword skills and 1 level for my eyes."
"That is sooo greeat, I am proud of you." Sarah had his hands clasped in hers while she swung them left and right without thinking. Their eyes stared at each other making Bill feel like a third party.
"Ugh, this Is so cringe." Bill said with annoyance and went inside his shadow to travel ahead making both of them chuckle.
He had not gone much ahead and stopped near the chest while the both of them came slowly.
The trio came in front of the chest and looked at it from differen angles. In the end, Lucas just kicked the lid open, with how experienced he was opening them.
BANG!
The lid fell to the side while they could see the same two compartments insde teh chest. Both glowing in blue with letter written over them.
"It's equipments and skills!" Sarsh said with excitement.
A vein bulged in Lucas's head lookin at the number of things they could take from the chest and the two compartments each.
'Fucking 3, it should be 1 for god's sake.' Lucas thought while gnashing his teeth.
"Lets find some good ones!"
Yet after looking at how happy Sarah was, Lucas's heart just melted.
