Chapter 104: Presents Fit For A Summon (1)
Putting down his tools and getting up from the workbench, Aoni habitually stretched his body, even if it wasn't really stiff from being hunched over for several hours; it was a natural reaction carried over from growing up as a mundane.
Dropping his arms, which had been stretched over his head, the Lad looked down at his work and couldn't help but feel a bit proud of what he'd accomplished.
There was a running joke in his family that Aoni was more Autistic than Artistic, and it was something evident in his picture book lessons with Glacia; the Lad couldn't draw for shit, however, when it came to building model kits or solving puzzles, his hyperfocus was above and beyond a regular person.
Once he was locked in and fully focused on a task, rarely did he deviate, as was evident by how it was currently in the middle of the night, and Aoni hadn't taken a single break after finishing his coat.
Reaching down and picking up the loose hide shirt, a content look spread across the Lad's face upon feeling its softness, an indication that he had indeed done every step of the process correctly.
It was no easy task to turn something as rough and stiff as hide into something soft as cotton, yet due to following the step-by-step process hammered into his head, the article of clothing he'd crafted was close to perfect…so long as you ignored the fact that it was slightly lopsided, and looked like something drawn by a preschooler.
The Cream colored, long-sleeved shirt looked a bit stretched out, was by no means professional or machine-made, and wouldn't offer much protection from the elements due to how thin it was, but once upgraded, it would work perfectly.
The best part was there were three more similar shirts placed on the table, so after two weeks of wearing the same thing, Aoni finally had some variety.
Stripping off his jacket and the frankly gross shirt he had been wearing since his arrival in Genovia, Aoni ran outside, cleaned his body with some snow, and put on the first of his soft, new shirts.
Feeling the soft material against his skin, the Lad looked down at the long-sleeved shirt, which fell to just below his hips, and nodded happily before pulling up his Crafter's Display and checking if he had succeeded yet again.

'Yes,' striking a pose and testing the flexibility of his new tunic, Aoni then pulled his coat on and smiled.
"I really wish I had a mirror right now; I probably look like a total barbarian, or better yet, someone from ancient times," rolling out his shoulders and noting there was no loss in maneuverability, Aoni picked up the remaining two shirts, and brought them into the cave, before folding them up and storing them on the second shelf of his bookshelf.
"YAWN, tomorrow I should finish up my pants…hm, it's a shame I'm no good at making boots, or shoes for that matter, but I should still give it a shot after making my pants." Lifting a leg and checking the condition of his sneakers, the Lad believed himself to be only a few days away from getting enlisted into a life of walking barefoot in the snow.
Even so, that didn't mean he was clueless about the process of cobbling footwear. If anything, the Academy was thorough in its teachings, so everything he needed to know was stored in his head.
With that thought in mind, he was glad that his brain had given him the foresight to set aside some of the thicker Chimera hide. At least in this case, materials wouldn't be an issue.
That's when he remembered the monster truck tire and a passing thought entered his mind.
"Should I measure my feet and cut off some of the rubber to craft soles for my boots?" Turning and looking toward the bedroom where his two summons were resting, Aoni could already imagine the hissy fit Glacia would throw if he tried to damage the tire.
"Eh…she'd get over it, which reminds me, I gotta figure out what kind of reward to give those two. Glacia is really easy, and a new toy or tool will suffice, but I have no clue what to make for Nyria."
Peaking his head into the room and seeing the silhouettes of the two sleeping soundly, Aoni smiled and instantly knew what to make for Nyria.
"Glacia loves sleeping on boulders or the sled, and as a bird, Nyria should like a nest of some sort for napping. We have plenty of vines and branches, so I could easily weave something. As for Glacia, she will no doubt throw a fit if her sister gets a naptime bed, but she doesn't, so I should make something akin to an oversized dog bed for the floof." Exiting the bedroom and tapping his chin, Aoni walked around the cave for some time, planning out the projects.
"There's enough leather for something that size, considering I still have an entire chimera pelt left over, and if I use fur to line it, the only thing I'm missing is some type of stuffing." Sitting down and bracing his back against the wall opposite the fireplace, Aoni crossed his arms and closed his eyes while planning.
Before he knew it, the Lad drifted off to sleep with a smile on his lips, as he was looking forward to his summons reactions when they woke up and found their presents.
Meanwhile…inside the bedroom, there was something strange occurring with both Nyria and Glacia.
Due to the darkness of the room, Aoni's eyes hadn't been able to pick up the differences in the silhouettes of the two, but with each passing minute, they were changing.
Of the two, Nyria experienced the largest changes, mainly due to her shortened Hibernation Timer, but Glacia wasn't one to be left behind, even when unconscious.

Needless to say, when morning came, and Aoni could finally get a good look at his sleeping summons, there was no doubt that the plans he'd made for their presents would need to be revised because they no longer were small creatures; they were growing at an alarming rate.
