Chapter 309: The Fifth Ability
With full bellies, content smiles, and a little gift in the form of leftover treats, Aoni sent off all the kids and pups to their respective homes before bidding farewell to Milly and her co-teacher, who then went about their day, transforming the lively Manor into its normal peaceful silence.
Especially since the Duo-de-Floof was sent out to hunt, mind you, Clara got dragged along, but that was Something that Aoni could literally care less about.
Either way, currently, it was just him and Charlotte sitting in his office.
"Now that the peanut gallery is gone…" Aoni mused while opening his TD and noticing a brand new tab available, causing him to react physically out of shock.
"What? Did you get Something good? Oh, oh, lemmie guess, it's Something crazy this time, like hm, All Element Mage, that would be pretty cool, heh." Char said, upon seeing the wide eyes and pinprick pupils on her brother's face.
However, when she didn't receive a response even after several seconds, Char leaned forward and waved her hand in front of Aoni's face…
"Hm, wha, no, it's not All Elements mage…where even did you come up with that?" Shaking his head and clearing the cobwebs since he was truly surprised by his new Tab, Aoni gave Char a strange look.
"Mmm, book," she replied with a smug expression that clearly stated she was talking about some fantasy shit.
"Hahhh, remind me to hide all those stupid hero books, or better yet, set an age limit to where only kids can read them."
"GASP YOU WOULDN'T DARE!" Char shot back, earning a cheeky smile from Aoni.
"Try me, anyway; it's a bit crazier than that, or at least for me it is…" Aoni said while opening a drawer on his desk and pulling out some paper and a pencil, then jotting down everything he saw.
It took him several minutes to get the sketch to match his display, but when he finished, he slid the paper over to Charlotte, who was equally as dumbfounded as he was when he saw it.
"Holy shit…you got a CLASS!" Char screamed while looking at her brother as if he had really done Something monstrous this time around.
Tamer's Display
Desc: Since the beginning of time, there have been those more in tune with nature than their peers, and through the ages, many have found methods of taming other beings.
Tamers are multi-purpose beings that, in one way or another, control other beings, nurturing their tamed entities and growing along with them.
Tamer Grade: ☆ (►)
Tamer Space: With each increase in Grade, the tamer will unlock a special Space within their soul, outside the realms of time and space, to keep their tamed entities. These pocket dimensions need to be nurtured and expanded; however, when a tamed entity is assigned a space, it will automatically change into an environment that suits the entity.
Tamer's Shop:
A special metaphysical store wherein Progress Points can be spent to purchase materials, items, or equipment specifically for Tamed Entities.
TS-1(Gradeless) (►): Empty
---
Tamer Passives:
(1): Tamer's Mark: (Gradeless) (►)
(2): Tamer's Seal: (Gradeless) (►)
(3): Shared Senses: (Gradeless) (►)
(4): Tamer's Bond: (Gradeless) (►)
"This…this…this," Char muttered while reading through the words multiple times over.
"Yeah…but I think this is WAY more dangerous than you realize…notice it doesn't say beast or monster…it says entity," Aoni said with a serious expression.
"Wait, you don't mean to say that you could "Tame" a human…" The moment the words left her lips and Char looked up to meet Aoni's eyes, she knew that was exactly what he meant, and it sent a shiver down her spine.
Isn't this technically no different than turning someone into a slave if it were possible?
'AN, is it possible to turn my Summons into Tamed existences?' While Char was gawking at him, Aoni had already begun asking questions and paying their respective costs without hesitation.
There was only so much information he could get from his TD, after all.
Due to the existence of the LoS system, all summons fall under the category of Tamed Existences, and as such, if the Host wishes, they could indeed transfer them into Tamed Entities
'Next question, let's use Glacia as an example. Would I be able to pull her into a TS and carry her with me back to Terra?'
That is correct; since the Tamer Space exists within the Host's Soul, it will not be affected by diminished or increased Energia Content, nor would Flume travel affect the being held within it
"FUCK…." His jaw dropped and eyes wide open; Aoni's vision swam as his mind churned out one possibility after another.
"What…WHAT DID YOU FIND OUT?" Instantly on her feet, Char caught her brother by the shoulders and screamed while shaking Aoni violently.
Ignoring the violent shakes, Aoni's head robotically turned to meet Char's expecting eyes, and he slowly dropped the bombshell on her.
"My Summons can transfer into Tamed Entities…and can go to Terra so long as they are within the confines of a Tamer Space…"
"I…m…possible…this can't be real, transferring summons across worlds is something only High-Grade travelers are capable of…you've only reached Mid-Grade…"
"…"
"…"
"This is crazy…"
"Yeah," Aoni responded with an absentminded nod of his head.
"You can turn anything into a Slave…human, monster, beast, no matter the race, anything can become a tamed entity, and you can bring it back to Terra."
*Blink blink*
"Yeah…"
"This is fucking insane."
"Uh-huh…"
Falling onto the ground in front of Aoni's chair, Char looked at him as if she was only meeting him for the first time; of all the things her little brother had shown over the last several months, THIS was the straw that broke the camel's back, and now, she was truly seeing Aoni in a new light.
"Ao…Mom, Cathy, Archie, and Cammy…you could bring them all through the flume and over here…where it's safe." Char finally said with a slight glistening of tears in her eyes.
'Can I? Is it possible?'
Complicated, extremely so, but yes, in theory, it's indeed possible
Reading this, Aoni sat up straight and was about to tell Char, but half a second later, his spirits dropped as he read the following message posted on his Attribute Notice
When bringing beings unaccustomed to high levels of Ambient Energia into Genovia, such as the Host's Mundane family members, they must first have their Energia Cells awakened, either naturally or forcefully; only then would it be possible for them not to instantly die upon stepping outside of their Tamer Spaces
"Ao? What did it say…" Seeing her brother staring off into space was a regular occurrence for Charlotte, so she knew Aoni was asking his Attribute Notice for clarification; however, the fact that his body language had drastically changed from excited to sullen was enough for her to understand it wasn't going to be as easy as making them Tamed Entities.
"It's possible but difficult. Well, to be exact, my AN told me it was "Complicated," basically because I have to awaken their Energia Cells first; that way, their bodies can adapt to the energy content. How? I have no idea, but the fact that it said it was possible is more than enough for me…" Aoni said wistfully while spinning in his chair and looking out the back window of his office.
'An, what is the ratio of TS's to my Grade?' Not one to let Something keep him down, Aoni quickly began plotting a path that led to him bringing his family over to Genovia, where there wasn't a lingering threat from the Royals hanging overhead.
Grade to Tamer Space Ratio
☆ = 1 TS
☆☆☆ = 5 TS
☆☆☆☆☆ = 10 TS
'So at Grade-5, I will have 10 Available Gradeless Spaces. Are there any requirements to unlock the additional spaces, or will I automatically get a bunch upon manifesting my 5th star?'
Valid concern; however, there is no need to worry; with each manifested star, the allotted spaces are formed; however, they will be weak and incapable of holding any of your summons at present
'But I can upgrade them along the way, so in theory, so long as I dump enough points into a certain space and power it up, I could house, say, Glacia? Correct?'
Indeed, but the TS needs to be at the minimum Grade-4, or else it will automatically shatter, killing not only Summon Glacia but dealing a significant amount of backlash to the Host as well
Something else to note is that a broken Tamer space cannot be repaired and will be considered wasted
'Understood,' leaning forward in his chair, clasping his hands, and propping his chin atop them, Aoni began rapidly firing questions one after another without caring for the cost of answers, and by the end of it, a plan had been formed, one that would no doubt change the life of the Thurston Family, but also cause MANY headaches for their enemies as well.
---
"Let me get this straight: you can "tame" them and even unlock their Energia Cells, but the cost of doing so will be heavy on you, not right away, but when you go to sever the Taming Bond?" Charlotte asked, after hearing everything Aoni had to say and returning to her seat on the opposite side of his desk.
"Yeah, breaking a Tamer's Bond is not going to be fun, but I really don't see any other way to get them over here unharmed. After all, without a Traveler's Physique, it will spell instant death for them the moment I bring everyone outside of my Tamer Spaces."
