Let Me Cook! (Isekai restaurant)

Chapter 5: Chapter 5 - Sudden Attack!

Oh, I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I do now. Hope you guys do too. I'm trying to add characters and hopefully I won't forget to give them screen time.

Though, it's unlikely I'll be able to show them all but I'll try.

If you have any suggestions then feel free to tell me.

- Zyon -

Another week passed, and my restaurant is now livelier than ever before, always someone eating. Suzuki and Saitama often visit on their break while Saitama visits upon finishing his training to be a hero. He was offered to be trained by Hayato and Netero but he declined, deciding to walk his path on his own.

Jin Woo and Touma often looked tired from training. Damn their training must be brutal to end up like that. It is clear they are getting stronger and more experienced. Though, this has only been a week and only began their training. As for my other customers, Doof gave me a recipe for a cheese that his family passed down.

"But it says here I have to wait for 50 years to make it?" I said but I am interested since the ingredients do sound great for cheese.

"Ah, yes, that's why I created the Age-Accelerator-inator." He said tapping the huge back that was cartoonishly large that it's amazing he could carry it in his back.

"It can age anything and I'm sure it will come in handy especially things like pickles and alcohol."

"Really? Thanks, Doof."

"Don't mention it. Can I get another order?"

I nodded, taking his Inators to the kitchen and placing it on the table treating it as another machine. Still can't understand how he was able to create this wacky invention but I won't try to question it.

Once that was done, I quickly started cooking for Doof, preparing his usual order with a few added touches to surprise him.

The kitchen buzzed with activity as the restaurant maintained its lively atmosphere. When I finally placed his meal on the table, I noticed a small but familiar figure entering the restaurant—Perry the Platypus.

He strode in with his usual unassuming demeanor, his sharp eyes scanning the room briefly before focusing on Doof, who was happily tinkering with his Inator.

"Ah, Perry the Platypus!" Doof exclaimed, his voice filled with both surprise and familiarity.

"What are you doing here? Oh wait, of course, you're probably here to stop my latest evil scheme, but, uh, I'm on break right now, so… you know… no evil scheming currently happening." I walked over to Perry, offering him a warm smile.

"Welcome. Can I get you anything? Perhaps something to drink or eat?"

Perry shook his head politely, his expression neutral. Instead, he gestured toward the complimentary bread on the table, a silent signal that he would help himself.

"Help yourself," I said, nodding toward the breadbasket. Perry took a piece and started munching quietly, his presence adding a unique charm to the already colorful crowd in the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Doof was enthusiastically eating his meal, occasionally muttering about how delicious it was.

"Zyon, you've really outdone yourself this time! I mean, this is better than anything I've ever tried, even from the finest restaurants in Danville! And trust me, I've been to all of them. It's like my taste buds are doing the cha-cha!"

"Glad you like it," I replied, chuckling at his colorful description.

Perry, now seated across from Doof, tilted his head slightly as if to question Doof's sincerity. Doof, noticing this, waved a hand defensively.

"No, really! I mean it, Perry the Platypus! Zyon here could totally run an empire of restaurants—oh, wait, I hope that doesn't make him competition for me taking over the Tri-State Area..." I laughed and reassured him.

"Don't worry, Doof. I think we're in entirely different industries."

The exchange brought a sense of lightheartedness to the busy restaurant. Even Perry seemed to relax slightly, continuing to nibble on the bread while keeping a close eye on Doof.

Soon after, everyone was taken aback when someone entered their restaurant.

"What is this?" We all stared at the humanoid tortoise holding a wooden staff.

"A talking turtle? This certainly makes things weird" Satoru said.

"Excuse me but where is this? How can a door appear in the spirit realm?" He said while the martial art master sensed his ki was vast, almost comparable to Hayato!

"Spirit realm? I'm not sure where you came from but this place is…" Hayato explained to him surprising the old tortoise but at the same time seemed intrigued.

"Ah, how surprising."

"We may know your name? And where you are from." Kensei Ma asked, sensing that they came from the same country.

"My name is Oogway and I am the former senior master kung fu of the Jade palace located in china." Oogway said, surprising them.

"You also came from china!?" Kensei ma exclaimed as Oogway joined the martial art group sharing his experience and how he was surprised seeing different races.

"Really? Your world have a tiger that knows kung fu?" Miu was surprised imagining fighting someone like that and Oogway nodded.

It is surprising how he is able to get along with everyone. He seemed to enjoy the company of Hayato and Kensei ma the most since the two had the wisdom and roots.

This place is starting to become more lively than before.

I realize that Oogway doesn't have any way of paying but Hayato seems to insist that he'll pay for his meal. It is surprising how he eats. I wonder what carnivores in his world eat.

Yeah, let's not dwell into that too much. I prepared a vegan meal for him. Once I was done making the dish, I carefully presented it to Master Oogway. The meal was a vibrant and colorful spread, carefully crafted to suit his vegetarian diet.

It consisted of a steaming bowl of stir-fried vegetables—crisp bok choy, tender carrots, and bell peppers—seasoned with a blend of soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for a rich yet delicate flavor.

Beside it, I served a portion of perfectly steamed jasmine rice, its floral aroma wafting through the air. For a touch of texture, I added a side of sesame-crusted tofu, golden and crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside.

The tea was a special addition—an aromatic jasmine tea infused with a hint of honey and lemon, served in a porcelain teapot with matching cups. The scent alone seemed to calm the air around us, its warmth inviting relaxation.

Oogway took a moment to observe the meal, his wise eyes reflecting appreciation.

"Oh my, this is certainly quite the feast," he remarked, his serene voice carrying a tone of gratitude.

He took his time savoring each bite, his movements deliberate and reflective.

"The balance in flavor… the care in preparation… It reminds me of the wisdom of the universe—every ingredient playing its part, no more, no less."

The martial artists at the table watched him in awe, their respect for his demeanor only growing. Hayato nodded in agreement.

"I thought the same thing, Zyon-kun seemed adept at presenting things into his dish." Oogway smiled softly, setting down his chopsticks.

"Even in the simplest things, there is great wisdom to be found, as long as one takes the time to notice." Oogway said as he calmly ate the meal.

[ A/N: Onwards, I copied it from Isekai Restaurant. So credit to him. ]

The doorbell rang and a new customer arrived. Taking a look at him, he was an elderly man and walked with a slight hunch in his back. He had light blue eyes and tan skin, spiked white hair, thick white eyebrows, and a thick white moustache. He wore a long-sleeved black martial arts jumpsuit, light-coloured pants, and Tai Chi slippers.

Hayato and the rest of the Martial Arts masters however paused and looked in his direction. The man too stopped and looked in their direction.

There was an unspeakable tension in the air.

I waited for a few seconds and decided to break the silence.

"Welcome to the Devil's feast, Sir. What would you like to eat?" I greeted. Hayato-san seemed to have calmed down too.

"Please join us. The more the merrier." he welcomed.

The man walked to the table and joined him and took a look at the menu, ordering a hotpot for himself.

I went back to cooking while I heard them talking.

The man introduced himself as Bang.

"I didn't know there were Martial Artists like you in the area." He said, greeting Hayato-san who explained the power of the Restaurant.

When I got his order there, he questioned me too.

"Is it really true that the Restaurant can connect to different worlds?" he asked, amazed.

"Yes. Both me and Hayato-san are from different worlds. In fact, so are Mikami and Suzuki."

"So, what kind of world do you live in Mr. Bang?" Miu questioned, looking interested.

The man explained some things about his world.

A world of Heroes and Monsters.

It was a dangerous world and I was kinda glad that my world was normal at least. I mean what's a few Yakuza when compared to real monsters who could destroy an entire city.

Turns out that Bang-san was a Hero himself and a high ranking one at that.

"Wow, are you really a hero? Can I have an autograph?" Miu asked excitedly with a spark in her eyes. Even Shigure had a glint in her eyes.

"Hahahaha why not."

Although the start was a bit tense, he seemed like a very kind old man. He got along well with Hayato-san. They also shared a similar philosophy when it came to martial Arts and became friends fast.

- Zyon -

I closed my shop today as I was summoned by my family to meet up with the Agares to discuss my engagement with Seekvaira. I remember her fondly along with the other devil's heir but mostly they were from the Bael, Gremory and Sitri.

At this time, I was in the garden standing beside me was my Fiancée. A beautiful young woman in her late teens with long, pale greenish blonde hair, long slit pink eyes, and glasses that give off an impression of being cold rather than cool.

She wears clothes that are very fitting for female nobles that have a flashy design to them, with accessories that have the Agares seal on them which give off a posh vibe. She wears a miniskirt and high boots which are matched by her posh clothing.

"How have you been, Zyon?" She asked and I looked at the sky of the underworld. It remains as lifeless as the last time I went. The entire dimension was within the gap which is why it appeared that way.

"Things have been great. My restaurant has been steadily growing and I couldn't be happier." I said as she nodded.

"How about you?" I asked.

"Likewise, I am steadily increasing my peerage and helping them grow." She said and I nodded.

"So…what do you think about this whole engagement thing? Are you fine with it?" I asked and our eyes met showing a smile.

"Of course! I couldn't be happier. If it's you then I'm fine. We've known each other for a long time. There's no one else I would like to be engaged to than you." She said and I'm flattered to hear this.

"Then I'll do my best as your fiancée to make you happy. Speaking of…" I saw her eyes widened in excitement when I pulled out a box. It was a Gunpla model kit.

"What!? Is this really for me!?"

Seekvaira's calm demeanor immediately shattered when she saw my gift. I knew she's quite fond of model kits and a fan of mecha in general. I've seen some shows with her and even though it wasn't my kind of show, I still enjoy it.

"I mean I don't know who else loves this more than you." I said and she immediately hugged me and even kissed my lips. It caught me by surprise and Seekvaira realized her mistake about stepping back but I embraced and pulled her closer. She didn't push me and clearly loved it.

"I…sorry about that. I got carried away." I shook my head and smiled.

"No worries. I'm glad you're happy." I saw her face blush trying to hide it and I found it rather cute. I want to tease her but know it isn't a good idea. She stores the gift for later.

"You mention your restaurant. How is it so far?" I contemplated if I should tell her about the features that my restaurant had.

"Well, you won't believe this but…" I began to explain what had happened for the first month that my restaurant had been opened. I told her this because I trust Seekvaira.

"What! Is that true!? Then there has to be a world of mecha then!?" Her eyes were sparkling and I chuckled.

"Maybe. We never know." Maybe I could ask Doof to make me a mecha but I think it's best to wait for a world like that.

"Still, you don't mind about Yasaka-san?" I asked, trying to check if she's prepared for it.

"I won't lie, I am a bit sad but I understand our circumstances." She said then smiled.

"And I am confident you won't suddenly forget your responsibility as my fiancé." Hearing this, I simply nodded.

"You won't regret it." I said

"Ara~ you two certainly getting along." I heard my mother voice as she walk towards them with my father and Seekvaira's parents walking close by.

"Hahaha I should long have engaged the two." I heard lord Agares. We greeted them and began to inform us what they had discussed.

"Announcing my engagement with Seek-chan on my birthday?"

It is a couple months from now. I should be 21 at that time.

"Yes. It is a perfect time to announce." My father said, And I didn't mind it. I should get ready when the time comes.

- Zyon -

Ah, it's only been a day or two but I missed my restaurant. My eyes wandered and saw Mikami and Suzuki who were sharing their frustration. Jeez the two should get married already!

"So how's your training so far Jin woo?"

I gave Jin Woo his food, a generous serving of Korean fried chicken presented on a large platter. Each piece was perfectly golden brown, the result of a precise double-frying method that gave the chicken an irresistibly crispy exterior while keeping the meat inside tender and juicy.

The glaze was a rich, spicy-sweet sauce made from gochujang, honey, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil, coating every inch of the chicken. Beside it was a small bowl of pickled radish, its tangy crunch providing a refreshing contrast to the bold flavors of the chicken. I also added a side of fluffy steamed rice and a cold glass of barley tea to complete the meal.

Jin Woo took a bite, his expression lighting up immediately.

"Thanks, it's delicious as always."

"Glad you like it," I said, smiling as I placed another plate for Hayato, who had decided to join the meal. Hayato nodded in approval. Jin Woo, still savoring his food, continued.

"As for your question, Training's been tough, but it's paying off. Shigure's techniques have been helpful, and I'm starting to see how they apply in the dungeons. Fighting's become less chaotic and more strategic." Hayato, ever the mentor, chimed in with a chuckle.

"That's because you're a natural. You've got the instincts of a warrior and the discipline to refine them."

Jin Woo looked humbled but pleased, taking another bite of the chicken.

"It's all thanks to everyone's guidance." The lighthearted comment drew laughter from the table. Even Shigure, quietly sipping tea nearby, offered a rare smile.

"Is it the same for you, Touma?" I asked him to order a simple curry dish. He started wearing gloves since it might be problematic if he suddenly touches someone and they suddenly vanish.

"Sore. That's how I am right now but it does help me a lot making my luck bearable." He said. They are certainly getting stronger. Though, it's only been a week since they started and should take a bit more.

The door then rang and I turned to see a young woman with pale skin, light blonde hair that was cut in an A-line style wearing a form fitting gray clothes with shoulder guard and waist guard.

What kind of armor is that!? That's useless as heck!? I mean armor is oftentimes enchanted with the design acts more of magical circuits that provide additional protection despite the lack of protection. But I can't sense any magic or any strange energy from it.

Though, I could sense a corrupted and rather confusing type of Demonic energy. I am adept at sensing considering I also trained in Senjutsu under the tutelage of Yasaka.

She seems tense and holds her sword ready to attack with a burst of wind that cracked the ground properly.

"Zyon-san!" I heard Kie screamed as I was simply confused why she was attacking me but simply side stepped grabbed hand that swung towards my head and pulled her before tripping her feet them pushed her into the ground in a fluid manner.

"Say, I don't mind women coming after me but I prefer not getting killed." I said as she tried to escape but to no avail. She didn't speak and simply glared at me.

"Hey now I'll let you go once you calm down and tell me why you're attacking." I asked keeping her down.

"First, let me introduce myself, my name is Zyon Belial, I am a devil and owner of this establishment. What's your name?" I asked.

"My name is Claire and what do you mean devil? Aren't you clearly a Yoma!?" She struggled and I sighed knowing this was going to be hard to explain to someone clearly in a world populated by demonic creatures.

"Are you alright, Zyon-san?" Kie asked to see me on top of Claire. I nodded and eventually she calmed down, taking a seat as we try to explain it in ways she could understand.

"So, you're not Yoma and this place is from foreign land outside of the mainland?" She can't help but be astonished finally looking around realising the place was vastly different than she was familiar with.

"In a way, yes. What about your world? What are you?" We all listened, learning about her world and everything about it. They are called claymore that hunts down Yoma who terrorize the inhabitants.

"That's why I thought you were a power of an Awakened Being." She said, looking at me.

"How strong are the awakened beings?"
