Chapter 1002: Chapter 1001: The Song’s Annual Meeting (3)
Not only was her figure worth a look, but her features were even more stunning and charming. Although her face carried a habitual coldness that seemed to push people away, she still attracted everyone’s gaze.
A pair of white high heels stepped steadily, her curled hair naturally voluminous and cascading over her shoulders, swaying gently with her movements.
The crowd hadn’t even reacted yet, and she had already made her way towards the stage. She must be some family’s heiress, right?
She was probably not a model or celebrity, even though she had the figure of a model and the face of a star, but if she were a public figure, many people would recognize her.
Everyone was puzzled by the beauty before them.
It was normal not to recognize her because Song Ying had mostly been abroad, and her visits back home were few and far between.
Song Ying walked up to Song Jie’s side, “Brother, sorry, I’m late.”
That’s when it dawned on everyone: this was the precious daughter of Uncle Song Jie, a well-known socialite and heiress.
“It’s fine, I’m just glad you’re here. Besides, the gala has just begun,” Song Jie’s usually indifferent and deep face gradually lifted into a smile.
“That’s good,” Song Ying smiled back at him.
“However, your entrance was rather grand; I bet a lot of people are asking about you. Maybe soon you’ll have a swarm of admirers, which would perfectly fulfill Uncle’s wishes. He even called me specifically, asking me to introduce you to some talented young men,” Song Jie teased.
“Dad really worries too much, annoying. I’ll take care of my own happiness. By the way, has your Miss Shen arrived?” Song Ying glanced at his side but didn’t see anyone.
The Miss Shen that Song Ying referred to was Song Jie’s fiancée, Shen Yue, the young Miss of the Shen Family. They had been engaged for almost a year but hadn’t decided on a wedding date yet.
Upon hearing this title, Song Jie’s face darkened, but he quickly returned to normal.
“She’s held up with something; she’ll probably be late.” Just as Song Jie finished speaking, a provocative figure in fire-engine red approached them.
“Ah Jie, Song Ying.” The newcomer had a voluptuous figure, dressed in a deep V-neck tight-fitting red dress that emphasized her curves, making men’s blood boil at a glance and leaving women feeling inferior.
Song Ying smiled and nodded, a greeting done.
“Alright, I won’t disturb you two, I’ll get out of your way,” Song Ying said as she saw Shen Yue arrive, wanting to leave the space for them.
“Let’s go shopping together when we’re free.” Since Song Ying was the only daughter of the Song Family, their relationship was fairly good.
“Sure,” Song Ying smiled and then left.
“Ah Jie, I’m sorry for being late,” Shen Yue murmured.
Song Jie responded with a faint smile, “It’s alright; it’s just started. Have fun.”
Shen Yue nodded to some people nearby and then boldly took Song Jie’s hand.
Song Jie frowned slightly.
No matter how much he was unwilling in his heart, he had to follow his family’s arrangements.
Shen Yue was truly a well-bred heiress.
Somehow, a few years ago when she was studying abroad, she almost fell prey to a gang of ruffians in a night market. Just then, Song Jie happened to pass by and rescued her.
Actually, Song Jie had long since forgotten about the incident, but Shen Yue remembered it vividly and even had someone find out that he was her savior.
Two years ago, as soon as she returned to the country, she came to visit Madam Song with boxes of gifts. Madam Song took an instant liking to her, and upon further examination of her family background and upbringing, which was all first-class, she became even more fond of her. So when someone came proposing, they got engaged a year ago.
