Chapter 13: Everyday Highschool life, Temptations.

Kasumigaoka Household Residence, 2nd Floor

Utaha Kasumigaoka opened the door to her bedroom and stepped inside.

Tossing her school bag onto a chair, she approached her bed and fell face-first into the pillow.

"Haaaaaaaah~"

She exhaled with a heavy sigh.

Finally turning over, she covered her face with both hands.

"This isn't real..." she whispered.

Since receiving news about the novel she was writing from her editor, Utaha had been struggling to come up with new ideas for her novel, Love Metronome.

Things hadn't gone well ever since she started writing her 2nd volume.

But on the first day of her third year, a new student joined her class.

From the moment she saw his face, Utaha couldn't help but glance in his direction from the start of classes until the lunch break.

"Haaah~, how can someone look exactly like him?" she muttered.

Since starting her book, Utaha had a clear image of her male lead—her ideal type.

While she provided a detailed description of the female counterpart, she included only a few vague physical descriptions of the male lead.

Instead, she described him as good-looking, kind, funny, and taller than the female character.

What made her lead so beloved by readers was his actions, which Utaha carefully crafted in her book.

Who would have thought that her secretly perfect man would appear out of nowhere?

In Utaha's opinion, Hoshino Ren was perfect for her.

Very attractive, tall, from a wealthy family, and the moment his hair shone in the sunlight, Utaha fell in love.

Finally collecting her thoughts, she sat up, turned sideways, and looked at her laptop on the desk, recalling her interactions with the young master and his maid.

She remembered the silence, the smiles, the way Ai carefully fed him, Ren's quick deductions, and his attention to detail.

Walking to her desk and placing her bag under the table, she sat at her computer.

"Alright, I'll write a new mini side arc today: a transfer student, heir to a wealthy family, arriving at a new school. Meanwhile, the female lead has secretly been working as a maid for his family..."

Reconsidering her idea, she nodded. "This could work. It adds tension and drama and gives the male lead a reason to work harder to win over his love interest."

Smiling, she booted up her laptop.

"Okay, pull it together, Utaha! Start writing and submit by midnight!" she declared, her eyes burning with determination.

In a Car Driving Through the Busy Streets of Tokyo

Looking out the car's tinted window at the passing streets, Ren enjoyed the warm, soft feel of the gyaru beside him, occasionally shifting his hand or giving her waist gentle squeezes.

The gyaru, Ai Hayasaka, squirmed in her seat, staying close to Ren's side.

As the car passed billboards Ai had mentioned that morning, Ren remembered something he wanted to investigate further.

"Ai, those billboards you told me about this morning—does your mother work closely with the higher-ups at that publishing house?"

Snapped out of the cozy atmosphere by his words, Ai stirred.

"Ren-sama, if you're t-talking about—hmmm—t-the new program at HoshinEnt, then yes, that specific branch is one of the c-companies my mother is r-responsible for," she said, leaning her head on Ren's shoulder, her breath warm and uneven each time he gave her side a sudden squeeze.

"When we get back, can you call your mother and ask her to send me the editor-in-chief's contact information?" Ren asked, sliding his hand lower to rest on Ai's hip, tracing slow circles with his palm.

"Y-Yes, while you're in the shower, I'll call her," Ai replied, pressing her thighs together, trying to ignore the tingling sensation.

Ah, youth, the driver thought, smiling to himself as the car approached the Hoshino estate.

Five minutes later, the car was parked outside Ren's home.

"Thank you for today. Please pick us up tomorrow at the same time," Ai said to the driver, then followed Ren, who was punching in the door code.

Inside the house, they slipped off their shoes and entered the main living room.

Placing their school bags on the cozy, soft couch in the center of the room, Ren said, "Alright, I'll take a quick shower and be back. I'm pretty sure there's still some food in the fridge, so we should have enough for dinner. Oh, and don't forget to call Nao-san."

"Of course," Ai replied with a gentle smile. "Go take your shower, Ren-sama."

As she watched Ren's figure climb the stairs to the second floor and disappear around the corner, she crouched down and pumped her fists in front of her face.

"Yes, yes, yes! Whatever happened, my emotionally dead master finally noticed Ai Hayasaka's feelings, huehue~" she giggled, unable to contain her excitement.

Though Ai was usually shy about showing affection or emotions in front of others, she had no trouble expressing herself when alone. Only her mother and the three members of the Hoshino family she interacted with most knew her true, lively nature.

Hearing the sound of doors opening and closing on the second floor, Ai stood up and headed to the kitchen area.

After finishing his shower and changing into comfortable clothes, Ren left his room and descended to the first floor.

Sitting at the dining table, he quietly watched Ai, who was busy cooking at the stove.

As she finished plating the dinner, Ai noticed Ren behind her.

"Ren-sama, dinner is ready," she announced.

Ren stood up to help her set the table.

"Itadakimasu!" they said in unison.

As they ate, they talked about their upcoming classes and Ren's old school in Europe. Ai suddenly remembered something.

"Ren-sama, I called my mother. She said she'll send you the contact information for the person you wanted to talk to," she said, placing a couple of fried vegetable pieces on Ren's plate.

"Thank you, Ai-chan," Ren replied, picking up a bunch of small vegetables and holding them near her face, clearly intending to feed her.

Ai glanced at him, then at the extended hand holding the food. She slightly opened her mouth and ate it.

After they finished eating and cleared the table, the blonde gyaru stood up and turned to Ren.

"I'll head home now, Ren-sama," she said, bowing slightly and starting to turn towards the entrance.

A hand on her shoulder stopped her.

"Ai-chan, aren't you staying over? I thought we'd spend some time together this evening—maybe relax on the couch and watch some TV?" Ren said, stepping closer and whispering in her ear.

"A-Ah, al-, alright, Ren-sama," Ai replied timidly, leaning into his chest. "I'll let my mother know I'm staying over."

"There are some of your spare clothes in the guest room. Go take a shower, and I'll make that call while you're gone," Ren said.

Ai turned to face him, taking a deep breath. "Okay, wait for me... Ren-kun."

She closed her eyes, waiting for his response, only to feel something soft brush her forehead.

Opening her eyes, she saw his neck, then looked up to find him stepping back after kissing her forehead.

"Hurry up, my playful Ai. I'm waiting—now more than ever," he said with a smile.

Straightening up and darting toward the staircase, she yelped, "Y-Yes! Wait for me—I'll be done in ten minutes!"

Amused, Ren shook his head and settled onto the couch in the living room. Turning on the TV, he leaned back and selected the first romance channel he found and muted it.

Taking out his phone and seeing a new message from Hayasaka Nao, Ren quickly dialed the number he had received.
