Life Reversal with Stock Cheat

Chapter 4: This works too? Amazing

The upper limit for stock prices in Korea was only 30%. Unlike the U.S. stock market, which had no upper or lower limits, Korea implemented this system to protect investors.

So, at most, I thought the daily profit could be 30%.

However, when I compared the popup window in front of me with the current prices, I couldn't help but be shocked.

[BitSeven 13,400 → 17,400 (29.9%)

Namu Entech 26,600 → 34,500 (29.7%)

CT Mobile 104,000 → 124,000 (19.2%)

Daegong Electronics 1,340 → 1,740 (29.9%)

Offensus Game 36,600 → 47,500 (29.8%)]

I rubbed my eyes and checked again. The numbers were the same.

"Four stocks hit the upper limit? This is insane."

I never expected this turn of events. Every morning, I had hoped for just one stock to hit the limit, and now I felt insignificant.

"Alright. I should dream bigger."

As soon as the market opened, the stock I had bought on Friday rose by 5%. Originally, it was supposed to go up 10%, but I sold it without hesitation.

"A small sacrifice for a greater cause."

I didn't know which among BitSeven, Namu Entech, Daegong Electronics, or Offensus Game would hit the upper limit first. The plan was to immediately switch to the next stock to maximize profits.

"Diversification is key in times like this."

Rather than relying on luck, I decided to play it safe. Sometimes, you have to risk everything for a jackpot, but today wasn't that day.

I settled for a moderate gain.

I divided my capital of 13.92 million won into four parts and bought:

[BitSeven – 259 shares

Namu Entech – 131 shares

Daegong Electronics – 2,602 shares

Offensus Game – 95 shares]

Now, all I had to do was wait for tomorrow.

I was so eager to see how much I would earn that my fingers were itching.

"What are you doing?"

Even though I wasn't doing anything wrong, I panicked and hid my phone.

No matter how much I owed this guy, revealing my skills wouldn't do me any good.

"Hey, are you gambling?"

"No, man."

"Suspicious."

Just as Im Han-ul reached out to snatch my phone, a bright and clear voice came from the entrance.

"Hello! Oh? Are you the new guy?"

A cute woman with a bob cut that reached her chin stood at the door, smiling as she approached.

"Wow. I heard you're the CEO's old friend. You look just as young as he does."

"No Yuri, you're early today."

"I always come early."

No Yuri puffed her cheeks playfully and placed her bag on her desk, which had a small pink humidifier on it.

She exuded the freshness of someone in their twenties.

"What were you guys doing?"

"Just waiting for the employees to arrive."

I still wasn't used to seeing crop tops that exposed the belly. Were such outfits acceptable at work these days?

Working in an old-fashioned company had turned my mindset traditional. But crop tops or not, people should wear whatever they liked.

Today was a lucky day, so I decided to stay in a good mood.

"Alright, this is No Yuri. She's our web designer and website manager."

"Nice to meet you! I'm No Yuri."

She extended her hand. Her nails were neatly manicured and pretty.

"And this is my old friend, Kim Jae-gu. He's in charge of customer service."

"I'm Kim Jae-gu."

I shook No Yuri's hand. Maybe because it had been a while since I held a woman's hand, I felt nervous. Worried she might misunderstand, I quickly let go.

"Are you really 34?"

"Yes, I am."

After spending two years in prison, my age felt unfamiliar. My clock had stopped at 32.

She smirked, put a hand on her waist, and whispered.

"Our CEO secretly gets fillers at the dermatologist."

"Hey! No Yuri!"

"Jae-gu, do you get treatments too? Your skin is too good."

"No, I don't."

Being called 'Jae-gu' felt odd. Now that I thought about it, I hadn't heard anything about titles.

"Come on, don't lie! If you have naturally great skin, I'll be jealous."

"No Yuri!"

"Ah! The CEO is jealous! I'll take refuge at my desk. Let's have coffee later."

She let out a dramatic scream and rushed to her desk. Im Han-ul sighed and shook his head.

"At least she's good at her job."

"She's fun. By the way, is my title just 'employee'?"

It made sense since I was a new hire, but some companies gave higher titles for external work, so I asked just in case.

"You're a manager, Kim Jae-gu."

"Manager?"

I expected assistant manager at best, but being a manager right away was surprising. And they were only paying me 2 million won?

That was shocking.

"You need a high title for customer service. If you're lower than a manager, people won't respect you."

"True."

I remembered my ex-wife screaming at customer service, demanding to speak to a supervisor. I should have seen that red flag and run away sooner.

"But in the office, we just use names."

"No titles?"

"Who uses old-fashioned titles anymore? Haha. You really are an old man."

Im Han-ul chuckled. He always seemed carefree, but I knew it was all calculated. It didn't take long to realize that about him.

"It makes me feel young."

"Your desk and computer haven't arrived yet, so just relax and meet the team. Oh, I have a call. Hello?"

Im Han-ul took the call and walked away. Left standing alone, I examined the coffee machine.

Im Han-ul might seem careless, but he was meticulous. The fact that my desk and computer weren't ready on my first day didn't add up.

"No Yuri."

It felt awkward calling her by name, but I'd get used to it.

"Oh? Jae-gu, you're already adapting?"

She smiled brightly, spinning her chair around.

"Do you need something?"

"I was going to make coffee. What would you like?"

"Oh, how sweet! Then I'll have a caramel macchiato."

"Caramel macchiato?"

That fancy drink women order at cafés?

I had only ever drunk black coffee to look sophisticated. But now, I had to make it myself.

"Just kidding. I'll take Ethiopian coffee."

"I could probably make caramel macchiato, though."

"I just remembered I'm on a diet."

She stuck out her tongue playfully and laughed.

"Thanks, Jae-gu."

I prepared her coffee, feeling nostalgic about the times I watched YouTube tutorials to make snacks for my daughter.

After a hectic day of trading stocks while working, I finally checked my account balance.

The number on the screen left me stunned.

"This is worth several months of salary."
