Live-in Son-in-law

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Treating Diseases

Qin Yi watched Xia Bingyan walk into the bathroom, the corner of his mouth slightly raised, while a strange purple light flickered in his eyes. No one knew what he had gained during his brief loss of consciousness.

Eye of Righteous and Evil.

He didn't know where this thing came from, but he clearly understood that his life had completely changed, and he would henceforth embark on a path of glory.

Qin Yi slowly stood up from the wheelchair, his bones making cracking sounds like beans being shelled! If someone saw this, their jaw would surely drop, because countless experts had diagnosed that Qin Yi would spend his entire life in a wheelchair.

Qin Yi's eyes slightly narrowed, like purple flames dancing within them, and countless green light points floated in the air. Qin Yi slowly raised his hand, and these light points swiftly floated towards him, drilling into his pores along his palm.

Qin Yi squinted comfortably; these green light points were spiritual energy.

What does that make me now? A cultivator? A god cultivator? Or perhaps a cultivator? Qin Yi couldn't figure it out, but he knew he possessed a power surpassing that of ordinary people.

Cangsheng Technique

The Eye of Righteous and Evil gave him many things, but the real cultivation technique was just this one. Because of the spiritual energy carried by the Eye of Righteous and Evil, he successfully entered the early stage of Qi cultivation during the time between his coma and waking up.

Xia Yanbing walked out wearing a white bathrobe, directly onto the soft big bed, and said indifferently, "Go to bed early!"

Qin Yi responded with a hum, went to turn off the light, reclined the wheelchair's backrest, raised the footrest, and the wheelchair turned into a single bed.

This was their usual way of getting along as a married couple, speaking less than five words a day.

The room was in complete darkness, and because Xia Yanbing had been drinking, she quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Qin Yi now had astonishing eyesight and could clearly see Xia Yanbing's exquisite face even in the dark. Although she was asleep, her brows were slightly furrowed, indicating that the recent financial chain rupture of the Xia Group was causing her sleepless nights.

Qin Yi's gaze was gentle. He had been a cripple, secretly in love with Xia Bingyan, yet didn't dare to express it. But from now on... he would take everything upon himself as her man.

The next morning, Qin Yi left the Xia Family. Normally, only he, Dong Jinsu, and the maid Aunt Chen were at home, so Dong Jinsu naturally wouldn't care where Qin Yi went. He couldn't wait for Qin Yi to die outside.

...

Liu Family Manor.

"Divine Doctor Li, how is it?"

In a room on the second floor of the vast villa at the center of the manor, Liu Zhanyuan glanced at his son lying on the bed, a deep sorrow between his brows, and quietly asked the old man packing the medicine box.

The old man was Divine Doctor Li, supposedly a descendant of Li Shizhen several hundred generations removed, though it might just be a gimmick. Despite that, his reputation was immense in the Yunnan-Guizhou area, and Liu had paid a large sum to bring him here.

Divine Doctor Li shook his head slightly, saying assuredly, "Unless Hua Tuo were reincarnated!"

Upon hearing this, Liu Zhanyuan's body swayed slightly. No matter how wealthy his family was, what use was all the money? His only son had become a vegetable; all the money in the world was useless.

Beside him, a plump elegant woman couldn't help but sob softly.

Just then, Liu Zhanyuan's personal bodyguard entered, respectfully saying, "Chairman, someone outside claims they have a way to wake up the young master."

Liu Zhanyuan's eyes lit up sharply, and the sobbing woman also stopped.

"Where is the person?" Liu Zhanyuan hurriedly asked. Over the years, regardless of the method or divine doctor, he had always tried as long as there was a sliver of hope.

"At the door!" the bodyguard said.

Liu Zhanyuan was already striding quickly out, Divine Doctor Li paused, then chuckled derisively. He had already diagnosed that barring a miracle, it was absolutely impossible to wake Liu Wencheng with human efforts.

Qin Yi was observing the entire Liu Family Manor, thinking that wealthy people really had it good. Compared to this place, the Xia Family's villa was nothing.

"Chairman, it's him."

The bodyguard led the way at a trot, and everyone came to the entrance of the manor. He pointed at Qin Yi and said.

When Liu Zhanyuan saw Qin Yi sitting in a wheelchair, looking malnourished and thin, his eyes flashed with disappointment.

But for the sake of his son, he still mustered his spirits, respectfully saying, "Sir, can you really awaken my son?"

Qin Yi naturally recognized the person in front of him as Liu Zhanyuan, the head of the Liu Group. He replied indifferently, "Naturally, or I wouldn't be here."

Liu Zhanyuan saw that although Qin Yi was young, he was composed, and his eyes showed a glimmer of hope. He quickly said, "If you can truly awaken my son, I will agree to whatever conditions you may propose."

Qin Yi was about to speak when Divine Doctor Li, standing next to him, snorted disdainfully, "Chairman Liu, I understand your eagerness to save your son, but you must be careful; there are too many frauds in this world."

Liu Zhanyuan hesitated, feeling uncertain; after all, Qin Yi seemed too young, and he was wheelchair-bound himself, lacking confidence.

"And who might you be?" Qin Yi asked, looking at Divine Doctor Li.

Liu Zhanyuan replied, "This is Divine Doctor Li."

Divine Doctor Li held his head high arrogantly, looking down his nose at Qin Yi, exuding an air of invincibility.

"So, can Divine Doctor Li awaken Young Master Liu?" Qin Yi asked coldly.

Divine Doctor Li's face twisted with anger, sneering, "Young Master Liu's long-term coma is due to a severe brain injury, and unless there's a Daluo Golden Immortal, no one can wake him."

Liu Zhanyuan's eyes flashed with anger. Although what he said was true, saying it this way sounded like he was cursing his son to never wake up.

Qin Yi's expression remained indifferent, saying, "There's no need for a Daluo Golden Immortal; I can awaken Young Master Liu."

"You?" Divine Doctor Li looked at Qin Yi with disdain, mocked, "If you really had such abilities, you wouldn't need a wheelchair."

This statement was truly venomous.

Qin Yi replied calmly, "My legs are innate, while Young Master Liu's injury is acquired. As someone who calls himself a divine doctor, shouldn't this logic be clear to you?"

Divine Doctor Li's face stiffened, his gaze turning sinister, momentarily at a loss for words.

Liu Zhanyuan nodded slightly. Just by judging this level of composure, many old foxes experienced in business couldn't match it. If it wasn't a bluff, then he must possess real skills.

Qin Yi looked at Liu Zhanyuan, saying, "Chairman Liu, may I give it a try?"

Liu Zhanyuan hesitated, unsure of what to decide.

Qin Yi naturally understood Liu Zhanyuan's concerns, merely doubting his abilities. He said lightly, "Chairman Liu, should anything happen to Young Master Liu during the process, I am willing to bear full responsibility."

"You? A cripple, how could you possibly take responsibility?" Divine Doctor Li's face twisted with malicious sarcasm.

Liu Zhanyuan was already tempted, feeling convinced by Qin Yi's demeanor.

"Zhanyuan, let this young divine doctor give it a try. Our son is already in that state; how much worse could the outcome be?" the elegant woman next to him said while wiping her tears, sobbing.
