Live-in Son-in-law

Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Pollen Allergy

A few minutes later, Liu Zhanyuan hurried over.

"Divine Doctor, this is the 20 million that old fraud lost to you, please accept it." Liu Zhanyuan handed a check to Qin Yi with both hands.

Qin Yi accepted the check without any hesitation; it was what he was owed.

Liu Zhanyuan took out another check, respectfully saying, "This is the 50 million reward I promised at the beginning."

Initially, Liu Zhanyuan declared that anyone who could wake his son would get a reward of 50 million.

Qin Yi had also heard about this matter, but he just waved his hand lightly.

Liu Zhanyuan looked at Qin Yi in confusion.

Qin Yi said indifferently, "Chairman Liu, I have two requests to make."

Liu Zhanyuan quickly said, "Please go ahead."

Liu Zhanyuan naturally had his own thoughts; how could a man not fall ill? Becoming acquainted with Qin Yi, whose medical skills were astonishing, was like an insurance for his own life.

"First, cancel the marriage plan of your son."

Liu Zhanyuan was slightly stunned for a moment and then hastily nodded, saying, "Alright, I will certainly do that."

The marriage was meant to bring fortune, to wake his son up. But now that his son was awake, there was no need for marriage. Besides, if not for the fortuneteller saying the girl's birth date matched well with his son's, he wouldn't want his son to marry an ordinary girl.

Qin Yi said, "Secondly, inject 50 million into the Xia Group under the name of the Liu Group."

Liu Zhanyuan's eyes flashed. He was aware of the Xia Group's financial issues. A little thought made him understand that both matters were to help the Xia Family.

"May I ask what is your relationship with the Xia Family, Divine Doctor?" Liu Zhanyuan asked cautiously.

Qin Yi smiled faintly, "Son-in-law of the Xia Family, Qin Yi."

Liu Zhanyuan was utterly shocked. Although Xia Bingyan's group wasn't large, she had some reputation in the business field. It was said Xia Yanbing married a disabled man, and the Xia couple was very dissatisfied with this son-in-law, not expecting it was the divine doctor in front of him.

Qin Yi's medical skills were astonishing; such a person, even if disabled, was worthy of Xia Yanbing. However, he also noticed that Qin Yi didn't want to reveal too much.

"Chairman Liu, since your son is awake, I shall take my leave!"

"Divine Doctor Qin, please wait!" Liu Zhanyuan rubbed his hands, somewhat embarrassed, "Can you leave me a contact number, Divine Doctor Qin?"

Qin Yi did not refuse and exchanged contact information with Liu Zhanyuan.

"Divine Doctor Qin, may I send someone to escort you back?"

"Thank you, Chairman Liu, but there's no need. I can return myself." Qin Yi nodded, took his leave, and then gradually left, pushing his wheelchair away.

Liu Zhanyuan watched Qin Yi leave the estate before withdrawing his gaze. For some unknown reason, although he was usually imposing due to his high position, in front of Qin Yi, he always felt slightly humbled.

Qin Yi didn't go directly back to the Xia Family; he really didn't want to face Dong Jinsu's terribly vulgar face.

Not far from the Xia Family, there was a park.

There weren't many people in the park, and Qin Yi leisurely pushed his wheelchair forward. He hadn't felt this relaxed coming out for a long time.

The scenery in this park was nice, and it was mid-April, the height of the blooming season.

Qin Yi pushed his wheelchair to the flower bed, picked a petal with his Divine Hand, and put it in his mouth, tasting sweet.

"Brother, what are you doing?"

Qin Yi turned to see a chubby-cheeked little girl. He had noticed her earlier, wearing a pink dress and three pigtails, her large eyes shining like black gemstones, holding a little pinwheel as she ran back and forth in the open space ahead.

Qin Yi laughed, "I'm tasting the flavor of spring."

After speaking, Qin Yi paused, realizing it was odd to talk about such things with a child. It seemed too much time at home made him forget how to chat with others.

The little girl's big eyes were filled with confusion, and she curiously asked, "Brother, does spring have a flavor?"

Qin Yi thoughtfully considered and then smiled, "Of course it does. When you're in a bad mood, even in spring, everything you see is gray. When you're in a good mood, even in the depths of winter, the snow is sweet."

The little girl blinked her gemstone-like eyes, with a puzzled look, and said in her childish voice, "Brother, I don't understand what you're saying, Xiao Rui never said this."

Qin Yi smiled gently, "So your name is Xiao Rui, how old are you?"

"Xiao Rui is three and a half years old, almost going to kindergarten's middle class."

Just as Qin Yi was about to speak, a woman in her forties ran over anxiously from the other side of the flower bed.

"Xiao Rui, there you are, why are you running off?"

"I was chatting with brother," Xiao Rui said seriously, her head tilted.

The woman picked up Xiao Rui, glanced warily at Qin Yi, and turned away, saying to the child in her arms, "Xiao Rui, you mustn't run off, there are bad people outside."

"But brother isn't a bad person."

"You're still young; you can't tell a bad person just from appearances… Xiao Rui, Xiao Rui, what's wrong?" The woman's words turned into panic midway.

Qin Yi looked up and saw the girl having difficulty breathing, her pale face flushed red.

"Help, help…" the woman shouted at the top of her voice.

At this moment, a couple in their thirties hurried over.

"What's wrong with Xiao Rui?" The woman was beautiful, elegant, with an intellectual charm, looking worried upon seeing Xiao Rui's condition.

"I don't know, it's him, it must be him." The woman in her forties pointed at Qin Yi, "Xiao Rui was with him and suddenly became like this, he must have done something to her."

Qin Yi frowned slightly.

The man's eyes shot fierce lightning towards Qin Yi, despite his young age, he had an imposing aura that commanded respect.

"Don't panic; I'll call an ambulance." The man took out his phone to dial and sternly said to Qin Yi, "Stay there, don't move."

Qin Yi sighed softly, not expecting such an incident just from visiting a park.

"Xiao Rui is allergic to pollen," Qin Yi pushed his wheelchair forward.

"Nonsense, Xiao Rui's never been allergic," the woman in her forties shouted at Qin Yi.

Qin Yi frowned, "Trust me, waiting for an ambulance is too late, let me see her."

"Stay away from my daughter." The man seemed unable to get through the call, looking anxious and speaking harshly.

Qin Yi sighed softly; he understood their worries but Xiao Rui couldn't be delayed. Such a cute little girl, he couldn't just watch her suffer. Qin Yi pushed on his wheelchair's wheels, speeding forward.

The woman in her forties screamed in fear, stumbling backward, tripping over and falling. As she went down, Qin Yi reached out and caught Xiao Rui.

"Let go of my daughter." The man pointed at Qin Yi, his thick eyebrows raised in panic, shouting furiously.
