Chapter 543: Chapter 492: Abyss Training_1
“Greetings, Sect Leader!”
After thirty years, Xu Mu met Qingyunzi, the Sect Leader of Qingyun Gate, once again.
For cultivators like them, thirty years pass by in a blink of an eye. They felt no strangeness upon meeting again.
“I knew you were extraordinary from the moment you joined us. As it turns out, I was right! You’ve managed to secure first place in the competition with a mid-Divinity Transformation cultivation level. Truly, a teachable youth!”
Qingyunzi stroked his beard, expressing his contentment.
The emergence of such a genius in the sect was a harbinger of bright future, and naturally, he was delighted.
“And congratulations to you as well, for accepting such an exceptional disciple!” Qingyunzi laughed as he mentioned this to the Grand Elder.
“Haha!”
Stroking his beard, the Grand Elder felt a great sense of satisfaction.
“This is your reward for this time!”
Qingyunzi placed a storage bag in front of Xu Mu.
“Thank you, Sect Leader!”
Xu Mu bowed in thanks and accepted the storage bag without inspecting it. As a Sect Leader, Qingyunzi would not cheat him on a matter as trivial as this.
“I’ve already informed Cloudtop Cave Mansion that you’ll be coming. You can enter it without any worries. If you have any doubts about your cultivation, you can come and ask me if your master isn’t available,” Qingyunzi said with a laugh.
Xu Mu thanked him again, though he had no intention of actually doing so. It was merely a courtesy.
The Sect Leader’s cave house was not located in the back mountain, but instead on Yunhua Peak at the center. As the Sect Leader, he naturally resided in the area with the most abundant spiritual energy. Meanwhile, the back mountain’s cave house was only second best.
Having lived there for so many years, Xu Mu was familiar with these basic facts.
His original residence, though as well rich in spiritual energy, could not compare to the back mountain. It was only now, after securing first place in the sect-wide competition, that he gained the privilege to establish his own cave house in the back mountain.
After bidding farewell to Qingyunzi, Xu Mu left Purple Cloud Peak and flew toward the back mountain.
Qingyun Gate was not limited to just one peak; there were several others in the back mountain as well. The Purple Cloud Peak where Xu Mu was headed was one of them.
Qingyun Gate was immense, with countless disciples. However, the real core consisted of few individuals: aside from the Sect Leader and the Grand Elder, there were also a Second Elder, Third Elder, and Fourth Elder.
The Grand Elder had one disciple, Xu Mu. The Second Elder also had one disciple, the Third Elder, a couple, had two disciples, and the Fourth Elder had no disciples.
All in all, the entire sect totaled up to five disciples.
Of course, there were also some menial workers and outer sect disciples, but they were not considered official disciples and hence, could not participate in the sect competition.
It didn’t take long after Xu Mu left Purple Cloud Peak for him to arrive within a mountain range. The peaks were not particularly towering, but the spiritual energy was incredibly rich.
The back mountain was, indeed, the place with the most concentrated spiritual energy.
Soon, he arrived in front of a cave.
Cloudtop Cave!
He muttered the three big words engraved on the stone stele.
The entrance of the cave was wide enough for two carriages to pass side by side.
Xu Mu, sword in hand, stepped into the cave house!
“This is your residence! You may focus on your cultivation without worry!” the Grand Elder pointed to a side hall while instructing.
“Understood!” Xu Mu bowed in agreement.
After imparting a few instructions to Xu Mu, the Grand Elder departed from the cave house.
Xu Mu made his way alone into the side hall.
The side hall was far from shabby, furnished with all necessary pills, magic artifacts, and Spirit Stones for cultivation. Even the bed had been prepared, made of the highest quality spiritual wood.
Additionally, there were also some menial workers helping clean the cave house.
“Excuse me! Sect Leader has ordered me to cultivate here. Is there anything I need to prepare?” Xu Mu asked one of the menial workers.
The worker glanced over at Xu Mu, and seeing that he was a disciple whom the Sect Leader had specifically told to look after, responded enthusiastically, “The Sect Leader has already instructed me. All you need to do is cultivate peacefully! The spiritual energy here is very rich, but remember that spiritual energy has different levels too. This Cloudtop Cave is a blessed land that can transform the nearby spiritual energy into its purest form. All you have to do is open up the sea of energy in your hand to draw in the surrounding spiritual energy.”
Xu Mu gave him a nod of acknowledgement.
Sea of Energy!
During cultivation, cultivators would absorb spiritual energy into their bodies, forming a ‘sea of energy’ within them. The spiritual energy would then continually settle and compress in the sea of energy, eventually transforming into the purest form of True Yuan.
However, the size of the sea of energy varies.
The sea of energy for an average person is the size of a fist, but for those with outstanding talents, the sea of energy could be as large as a watermelon or even bigger.
The speed and efficiency of transforming spiritual energy into True Yuan were also related to the size of the sea of energy.
The larger the sea of energy, the higher the conversion efficiency!
However, as Xu Mu had already cultivated to the mid-stage of Divinity Transformation, his sea of energy couldn’t possibly be the size of a fist; it should be the size of a watermelon!
The menial worker’s words were not false!
Cultivating in a place replete with spiritual energy indeed greatly increased the efficiency of cultivation.
But Xu Mu did not immediately start cultivating. Instead, he prepared his bed, took out two brand new Taoist robes from the storage bag, which he had never worn before.
One robe was white and the other was grey.
Both robes were magic artifacts!
Although Qingyun Gate was a small sect, as a disciple of the Sect Leader, he could obtain two magic artifacts every year.
As he had just joined the sect this year, he had not yet received any magic artifacts.
Even though he now had a magic sword, the sword required nourishment from True Yuan and couldn’t be used for a long period.
So, he planned to refine these two magic artifacts as quickly as possible so he could use them.
Both artifacts were tier one magic artifacts!
Even though they were the lowest level of magic artifact, they were more than enough for Xu Mu, a middling Divinity Transformation newbie.
