Chapter 3: Chapter 3: A Life of Delinquency (1)
"What are you looking at? Wait a minute... I've never seen your face around here."
Two weeks had quickly passed since Leo's arrival in the Lookism universe.
During this time, he had finally been able to confirm the effects of Kim Young-hoo's power in his life.
Everything he undertook, when he invested himself in it, was influenced by this supernatural "instinct" within him.
Martial arts were indeed not the only limit, but this was greatly influenced by two factors.
First: his sincerity in the path he undertook toward "the truth" he aimed for.
After the first element, the second was: the "impossibility" of reaching it.
The first is easy to understand, but the second is more nuanced and vague.
Even Doo Lee hadn't fully understood it yet, and this had led him to this neighborhood hostile to J High School students.
Why this decision?
He had to understand the detail of the "reaching the truth" aspect, despite the impossibility of its feasibility.
This was too difficult to observe and understand with club training.
After all, anyone can push past their limits in a gym or boxing club, right?
But... it's different on the street.
"So what? You got a problem with my face?"
Doo Lee casually approached the man, who seemed to be in his early twenties.

The individual seemed surprised for a moment by Doo Lee's action, and he instinctively looked around.
An action showing his intelligence, as he checked for the presence of a hidden third party group nearby.
Of course, there was no one else but Doo Lee.
The latter wasn't really wearing any particular clothing, but a hood and a face mask.
Why hide his identity?
This was Gian High School territory.
A place with ties to Gun himself, so Doo Lee preferred to play it discreet for now.
"*Puff* This little shit is really alone."
Another individual joined the conversation, after exhaling a final puff of his cigarette.
"C... can't you just leave him? He doesn't seem to know what situation he's in."
A female delinquent in the background gave her opinion in a nervous voice, after glancing at Doo Lee.
She didn't really seem to appreciate how things were turning out, but she wasn't completely stopping her friends' actions.
The atmosphere was getting tense by the second, but Doo Lee didn't try to defuse the situation he had caused.
On the contrary.
He even encouraged the delinquent to attack first, with a simple and effective gesture that had worked since the dawn of time.
A wink toward the only girl in the group.
Why? Doo Lee was pretty sure she had a relationship beyond simple friendship with the trash in front of him.
If he was right, then...
Jab.
Jab.
Surprisingly, both Doo Lee and the man in front of him practiced English boxing.
Their fists headed toward each other's face almost simultaneously, but... Doo Lee was faster.
Miss.
The aggressor's punch missed him, after losing its target due to the shock of a fist on his nose.
Immediately, Doo Lee chained several hits aimed at important areas to put an individual out of service.
The temple.
The chin.
The ribs.
The solar plexus.
Doo Lee pummeled him in all these areas in less than a few seconds, before directing his attention to an abnormal spot in his vision.
'That was close.'
He managed to lean enough to dodge a kick that was aimed at his temple.
The attacker was surprised, but Doo Lee immediately retaliated with a combination of jab, cross, and finished with a hook.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
The second guy's body emitted a melody familiar to Doo Lee's ears, one he often heard.
The sounds of a punching bag.
The unfortunate delinquent didn't take long to fall to the ground like a puppet that had lost its strings.
A pool of blood, mixed with the young man's teeth, spread on the ground.
"You..."
The last thug had a massive build.
From his actions, he seemed to be looking for an opportunity to grab Doo Lee.
'A wrestler? Or a judo practitioner?'
Several options came to Doo Lee's mind, but he didn't take long to throw his assumptions in the trash.
Why think about things he had no control over? He'd find out sooner or later anyway.
Might as well face him now.
"W-what?!"
"Call all your buddies... this isn't enough."
The last part was just his inner thoughts, which involuntarily leaked out through his mouth.
But this made the imposing man nervous.
He even became slightly pale.
'No, I need to pull myself together... he's still just one man.'
After getting his fear under control, the imposing man decided to accept Doo Lee's proposition.
After all, he wasn't the type to play fair in a street fight.
After that, he suddenly threw himself toward Doo Lee.
A surprise attack attempt, but he had misjudged the difference in strength between him and Doo Lee.
All his grappling attempts were in vain, since there was just too big a gap in speed and reflexes.
His hands only caught air.
Uppercut.
'I... I'm seeing double.'
Hook.
Fall.
The imposing giant lost his balance after receiving a hook.
The dull sound that followed his fall surprisingly resonated loudly in the surroundings.
The young girl remained frozen as a surreal scene unfolded before her.
Her boyfriend and his friends, who were used to harassing and robbing people through various tactics, had been beaten by a stranger.
"I wonder how long it'll take for the seniors and sophomores to gather..."
His low-voiced words shocked the girl, who was still observing the situation while setting her boyfriend aside.
...
It took a good ten minutes before a group of teenagers arrived.
Some came on motorcycles, others with metal bats in hand, and some seemed to be holding screwdrivers.
"Hyeri! Is this the guy who did this?"
A man took the lead of the group, while glancing around with a dark expression.
The girl, who was named Hyeri, slowly nodded.

Fire.
The man lit a cigarette before observing Doo Lee, still silent.
The two engaged in a staring contest for a moment, which was ended by a simple sentence:
"I want to see this guy half dead..."
