The rest of the school day passed without much issue. Daniel sat through classes, taking mental notes about his new classmates and how things worked at J High. Teachers went through their lessons, students whispered here and there, but nothing too out of the ordinary happened.
When the final bell rang, students poured out of their classrooms, excited to finally go home. Zack and Mira left together, Zoe waved goodbye, and Daniel walked out of the school gates alone, heading straight back to his apartment.
(5:12 PM)
Daniel stepped inside, tossing his bag onto the floor. His first body was still lying on the mattress, breathing steadily in deep sleep.
Without wasting time, he undressed, stripping down to his boxers before lying down on the mattress next to his other self.
He raised a hand and..
Slap.
His vision switched.
....
His eyes opened, and suddenly, everything felt heavier again. The sharpness, the effortless strength, gone.
He let out a deep breath, sitting up in his small, chubby body. Even though he knew this would happen, the contrast was still annoying.
After quickly getting dressed, he grabbed his wallet and left the house.
....
(5:41 PM)
Daniel walked into a small electronics store, the shelves lined with laptops, tablets, and various accessories. The fluorescent lights buzzed faintly overhead as he made his way to the section with portable computers.
A store clerk approached. "Need help, kid?"
Daniel nodded. "I need something cheap but functional."
The clerk glanced at him, then at his oversized hoodie and cheap sneakers. He could already tell Daniel wasn't swimming in cash.
"Cheapest model is over there." the man said, pointing at a small display of budget laptops.
Daniel picked one up, checking the specs. It wasn't powerful, but it would get the job done. He checked his wallet, barely enough left after this purchase.
'I'll have to start making money soon.'
He added the cheapest digital drawing tablet to the purchase and paid. With his bags in hand, he headed back home.
(6:24 PM)
Back at the apartment, Daniel sat on the floor, placing the laptop and drawing tablet on the small table. He booted up the device, opened a browser, and immediately searched:
How to draw digital art – beginner tutorial.
A list of MeTube videos popped up.
Clicking the first one, he watched carefully, studying the strokes, the techniques, the way the artist built forms from basic shapes.
Then, he grabbed the pen and tried it himself.
His first attempts were messy, awkward. The lines wobbled, proportions felt off, and shading was inconsistent. But Daniel didn't get frustrated, he analyzed.
He watched how the artist moved their wrist. He copied the way they sketched loosely before refining.
He rewatched the difficult parts in slow motion, memorizing every single motion.
Each attempt was better than the last.
(9:58 PM)
By the time Daniel looked at his screen, he had drawn four full sketches.
The first one was clumsy. The second one was decent.
The fourth?
Almost professional.
'This talent is ridiculous.'
Daniel leaned back, cracking his knuckles. His ability to copy and perfect techniques wasn't just for fighting.
It applied to everything.
And now, he had a new skill.
(1:07 AM)
Daniel sat cross-legged on the floor with his laptop open on multiple tutorial videos playing in succession. His eyes scanned every detail, his hands moving in perfect sync with the demonstrations on screen.
He had already mastered the basics, but that wasn't enough.
His focus shifted to manhwa, comics, graphic novels, and manga creation. He absorbed panel composition, pacing, dynamic angles, and how to make impactful scenes flow smoothly. He studied how professional artists conveyed motion, tension, and expression.
Buildings, cityscapes, depth perception, he copied everything once.
The second time? He improved it.
The third?
He created his own style.
His strokes became more confident, calculated, adjusting for the slight tremor in his wrist from hours of drawing. He flipped between different art programs, experimenting with brushes, inking techniques, and frame layouts.
At some point, he looked at the clock on his laptop.
(3:04 AM)
He sighed, rolling his wrist. He wasn't tired, his mind was still wired.
An idea formed.
'Why not draw what happened today?'
Daniel opened a new project file and began sketching out his first school day, panel by panel. From the moment he walked into J High to the cafeteria scene, he detailed every expression, every reaction, every movement.
But he didn't just copy reality.
He refined it. Adjusted the angles for maximum impact, exaggerated some expressions just enough to add weight to the storytelling. His clean, bold lines gave the characters depth and presence. The result? A webtoon-like chapter that was smoother and more polished than anything he had seen online.
When he finally stopped, he leaned back and marveled at his own work.
'This is insane.'
He zoomed in, taking in the details, the precise anatomy, the fluid motion, the backgrounds that made every scene feel alive.
He had nailed the style. Now, all that was left was coloring.
But his wrist was numb.
Daniel flexed his fingers, wincing slightly. He had been drawing for hours non-stop.
Then, he glanced at the clock.
(6:56 AM)
In a few minutes, it would be time to switch bodies and go to school.
....
(Tuesday, April 23, 2024 – 7:35 AM)
Daniel walked through the school gates with his uniform neatly fitted and his posture relaxed. As he moved through the crowd of students, he spotted someone walking ahead of him.
Jay Hong.
Even among the well-dressed students, Jay stood out effortlessly. His perfectly styled high-end uniform, the Chrome Heart rings, the custom bag strapped securely on his shoulder, everything about him screamed money and style.

His long blonde bangs covered his eyes completely, defying logic as they never seemed to move, no matter the wind or movement.
Daniel caught up to him and gave a casual nod. "Yo, I remember seeing you in class. Jay, right?"
Jay turned his head slightly, then gave a small nod.
"Yes."
Daniel nodded, that was expected.
In the webtoon, Jay never spoke. But this was real life. He would obviously say something.
They walked together toward the classroom in silence, but it wasn't uncomfortable. Jay carried himself with a quiet confidence, his movements were smooth, almost effortless.
Daniel didn't push for more conversation. If Jay wanted to talk, he would. If not, that was fine too.
The morning passed in the usual rhythm of school life. Lessons, casual conversations, the occasional glance from students still adjusting to Daniel's presence. The teachers droned on, the students jotted down notes, and time moved quickly.
Lunch break.
The cafeteria doors opened, and students poured in.
