11: Meeting with a Devil(III) {Final}

Gun broke the silence and asked the policeman,

"How much time is left?"

The officer replied,

"You still have 3 minutes and 51 seconds left."

Gun smiled, then turned slowly toward Yuujin, leaning forward a little.

"So… what do you want to know?" Gun asked, voice cold and sharp.

Yuujin didn't waste a second.

"It's a straight question—"

He paused, eyes fixed on Gun.

"What is James Lee's weakness?"

Gun raised an eyebrow, surprised.

Yuujin continued,

"While I was coming here in the taxi, I learned about you… Charles Choi… and James Lee."

He leaned in, meeting Gun's eye level with a calm, cold voice:

"Tell me something that even James Lee's allies don't know… a secret."

Gun's grin returned, slow and unsettling.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" he asked.

Yuujin didn't blink. His face remained emotionless.

Gun looked at Daniel, then back at Yuujin.

"Alright…"

He took a breath.

"James Lee—"

He paused again. The room felt heavier.

"…killed Gapryong Kim."

Daniel gasped. His body frozen and his eyes widened, he exclaimed.

"Wha—WHAT?!"

Yuujin frowned slightly.

"Who is… Gapryong Kim?"

Gun clicked his tongue and said with affirmation.

"Tch. I knew you wouldn't know him."

Daniel stepped in and said in a hurry,

"You don't know Gapryong Kim?"

"He was a legend. The man who almost united the entire underground of Korea. He was feared even by Charles Choi."

Yuujin looked down in thought.

But then, the policeman interrupted,

"Time's up. Meeting is over."

He started cuffing Gun again.

Gun stood up but glanced back.

"You better not forget what you promised, Mute boy."

Yuujin didn't say anything. He raised a thumbs-up, still lost in his thoughts.

Outside the prison.

Daniel thought for few moments and said to Yuujin,

"Since you don't have a place to stay yet why don't you.... live at Jay's house?"

Yuujin asked,

"Who's he?"

Daniel smiled,

"Come on. I'll tell you on the way."

He called a taxi and they both sat in.

During the 2-hour ride, Daniel looked out the window, scrolling through his phone.

Yuujin leaned back and slowly fell asleep, arms crossed, peaceful for once.

When they arrived—

Yuujin opened his eyes slowly and saw a mansion.

No. It was way more than that.

He stepped out and stared at the massive gates, the giant house behind them.

His mouth opened slightly.

"…This is a house?"

It was the first time in a while Yuujin showed any expression.

Jay and his gang came out with his dog to meet small Daniel but he stopped when he saw Yuujin.

Daniel waved.

"Jay, this is Mr. Yuujin Jin. Can he stay at your place for a few days?"

Yuujin nodded, and raised his hand to shake.

Jay didn't take it.

Daniel tried convincing him, but Jay stayed silent.

Then Daniel smirked.

"If you let him stay… I'll bring Big Daniel here tomorrow."

Jay's eyes widened, shocked. He nodded quickly.

Yuujin dropped his hand and walked in silently.

At the White Tiger Job Center...

A big man in a tight suit stomped on the ground and grabbed his head in frustration.

"Why are you so stressed, sir?" asked Senior Manager Kim.

The man turned toward him. It was Tom Lee.

He pointed at a letter on the table.

"Do you see what James Lee sent me?"

Kim picked it up and read.

"He wants… you to personally interview someone?"

Tom Lee nodded with a grim expression.

"Yes. And that's exactly why I'm worried."

"But… why, sir?"

Tom looked Kim in the eyes.

"James Lee is...dangerous."

" He's the reason Jinhyeok lost his mind. And now… he's interested in this boy."

He handed Kim the file.

"Bring him to me."

Manager Kim nodded and left.

Tom leaned back in his chair and whispered in his thoughts, while gazing the ceiling,

"…What kind of life did that kid lived to … get attention of a wolf like James Lee?"
