Chapter 278: The Cult (48)
STOMP!
STOMP!
The sound of feet stomping brutally against flesh reverberated across the domain of light.
D'andre could be seen stomping angrily on the head of Xandros. His boots were bloody, covered in the cultist's blood—Xandros had stopped reacting to the stomps seconds ago.
D'andre realized Xandros was dead but did not feel the urge to stop moving.
Recalling how many people had died at the hands of this evil bastard made forgiveness impossible, even after death.
He simply continued, this time he wasn't doing it to kill him, but to make himself feel better and less furious.
He continued for about three minutes before he finally halted his attacks on the corpse.
"Serves him right."
D'andre scoffed as he stared at the corpse. Its head had been shattered beyond recognition, it was nothing but mashed flesh at this point.
D'andre did not feel a single twinge of remorse for what he had done.
How could he? He had just washed scum off the surface of the earth and prevented the deaths of millions. If anything, he deserved an award.
As he was looking at the dead fella:
[You've slayed one foe, +25,000,000 evolution points]
Twenty-five million evolution points was a huge amount of money, even for someone like himself.
But at this moment, he was in no mood to rejoice over his victory.
He simply closed the holographic window and proceeded to grab some mana potion from his inventory to refill his mana reserve, which was dwindling really fast—two activated spells were consuming a bulky amount of mana every second.
Especially the Elemental Domain, it is amongst the top three strongest categories of spells that only an archmage could activate.
The Elemental Domain is a pocket dimension owned by anyone who activated it.
Inside the Elemental Domain, the one who activated it becomes a god, he could use any sort of spell he wanted and even create his own spell without consuming too much mana. Inside this space, they could use their strongest spells more than a hundred times without running out of mana.
And the power of their spells is increased a hundredfold in this space, but such could not be said for the opponent trapped with them inside the space.
They become powerless like Xandros. An archmage would be reduced to the ranks of apprentice and Tier‑1 mage within this space, and those below archmage would become nothing but mere mortals, even weaker than a child.
But was the Elemental Domain this disadvantageous to enemies?—Sometimes.
Inside the Elemental Domain of an archmage, his elemental affinity with that element is boosted manifold, even if they had other elements, those other elements would become extremely weak.
However, an opponent possessing the same element as the Elemental Domain would not be completely powerless.
They would still be able to use spells to their peak powers. The only difference being that they would not experience the same boost as the creator.
Even with the same element, they would still be in dire condition once they are trapped within, as long as they are not the creator.
Also, the mana consumed to keep an Elemental Domain up for more than two seconds was more than the entire mana reserves of a Tier‑3 mage!
It is no debate why it is amongst the top three strongest spells to ever exist in the whole world.
After consuming the mana potions and feeling his mana reserve return to its peak state, D'andre grabbed the corpse of Xandros by the neck and prepared to deactivate the domain.
Minutes passed in the real world.
The entire place remained blinded by the glow of D'andre's domain.
The dark figure of Alister could also be seen frantically trying to burst the domain open to free his brother.
His moves never dwindled, he continued punching, shooting spells, and trying every possible attack to try and shatter the domain—but he could not.
The domain of a Tier‑6 archmage cannot be shattered by a fellow Tier‑6 archmage, only a Tier‑7 archmage or a supermage might be able to cause a change.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Alister's attacks kept exploding across the entire space.
It was disastrous, but those who had their defense spells on were able to cancel the disastrous effects.
Rowan and Riela were still pretty confused compared to the others around them.
They did not have any knowledge about the spell.
Even in the game, Rowan had never heard of anyone using such a spell.
And to his understanding—judging by the frustration and desperation at which the eldest of the dark brothers tried to shatter it—he believed it was extremely powerful and disadvantageous to the person trapped within it.
"What could be the fate of the two inside?"
Rowan wondered aloud.
"The cultist should be dead by now."
Standing beside him, protected by a translucent blood‑magic shield, Eliman replied with a relieved expression on his face.
"How did you know?"
Rowan asked, he was truly curious.
Eliman turned to look at his new friend for a brief second and shook his head, wondering why the cult considered him a talented magic genius and abducted him. So far, Rowan had proven that he knew not much about magic, its cultivation, or even its rich history.
'Well, he came from a local village, how can I blame him?'
Eliman let out a sigh and proceeded to explain everything to him in simple terms to make him understand.
The more he explained, the more Rowan's eyes widened as he realized how powerful that spell was and what it could do.
"Ability to create a domain that makes you extremely overpowered and nerf your opponent? That is super awesome."
Rowan gave a sincere, astonished reaction.
He had only read a little bit about such spells back on Earth. They are extremely difficult to cultivate, and only a selected few can actually create an Elemental Domain.
"My great-grandfather is amongst the only three blood mages that were able to reach such a stage in blood magic cultivation."
Eliman boasted to Rowan.
However, before both of them could do anything, the domain was deactivated.
