Chapter 5: Past and Future
The City of Silver residents stood silent as they saw the messenger of God dressed in a dapper coat suddenly freeze.
They observed almost fearfully, not understanding the reason for such a strange action.
The blinding white light dimmed slightly, and seemed to be getting dimmer, though none of the residents noticed at the moment.
Then, they saw a movement.
'His' right hand began to shake slightly as 'He' tried to pull something out of his pocket.
Then, the messenger of God stopped. It was only for a short second, but all of his movements ceased.
In the next moment, he took his hands out of his pockets as he exclaimed to the City of Silver residents:
"Rejoice! God will take you out of this forsaken land at this very moment!"
He chuckled, spreading his arms out wide.
The City of Silver couldn't help but rejoice, continuing to prostrate themselves as they shouted: "Praise God!"
…
In a distant, faraway land in the Forsaken Land of the Gods.
A young man wearing a mage's robe and hat, one who had black hair and a broad forehead, stepped at the edge of a cliff.
'He' stared at the top of the cliff. On it, was a large upside cross that held a giant corpse. His face was deformed, his body looked crystal and pale, and his arms and legs were nailed to the cross.
The Blasphemer, the Angel of Time, and the God of Deceit chuckled as 'He' pulled out a crystal monocle from his pocket and wore it on 'His' right eye.
"I couldn't get 'His' anchors or 'His' marionette. So it really is The Fool…"
"I wonder how such a thing is possible. I know 'He' came from a different timeline…"
"Hehe. I know what 'He's' going to do next. Thinking that I'll try to move as fast as possible, 'He' will try to go after me after Fooling the world about the City of Silver."
"As expected of a former Lord of Mysteries."
Then, Amon looked to his right.
There, a blonde, bearded man appeared to have come from nowhere. A silver cross was wrapped around his neck as he wore a priest's robe. He had a genial, calm look to him.
This was the Author, the Angel of Imagination, Adam.
Amon stared at 'Him', smiling.
"There you are."
…
Coming from Sefirah Castle, Klein, dressed in a top hat, a transparent mask, gloved hands and silver cane, appeared in the Forsaken Land of the Gods once again.
Now that his condition was stabilized, he used his powers of a Miracle Invoker and made a wish.
"I wish that both the City of Silver and Moon City will be transported to Bayam."
Pa!
He snapped his fingers, fulfilling his wish.
In that moment, the entirety of the Forsaken Land rumbled. It was as if a massive earthquake suddenly appeared over the land, causing tremors and disrupting the skies.
Using marionettes, Klein saw the conditions of both cities. He made sure to be careful with his wish, letting the entire land under both cities along with its people to be transported into Bayam smoothly.
In the region where the City of Silver once was, Klein saw that the entire ground was desolated; devoid of life. There was a massive crater, like a meteor had struck the ground. Of course, the great white light had also disappeared.
The situation with Moon City was similar. A crater had appeared where the city once was, however it was not as large as the City of Silver's crater.
In an instant, Klein felt as if an immeasurably sized, ethereal blanket was placed over the world.
He turned his head upwards and saw that a translucent sheet that had many stars on it covered the entire sky. Like if it was influence by gravity, it plummeted towards the Earth, covering it entirely.
"Evernight moved quickly. As expected of a new Great Old One…" Klein instantly recognized the concealment.
Of course, Klein only knew that this happened because Evernight allowed him to. This was so that he can continue on with his next step.
Klein then took a deep breath as he held his hand outwards. Using his powers of The Fool, he clenched his fist, signifying him changing history.
An infinite, illusory and ethereal grey fog had swirled as it ebbed and flowed gently in the spirit world. This was the fog of history, and Klein had absolute control over it due to Sefirah Castle.
Then, like a tsunami, it rushed towards the physical world instantly, inundating the Earth.
Suddenly, everyone on Earth had recognized the City of Silver and Moon City as towns in Bayam. The very concept of history had been rewritten. Books, newspapers, maps and any form of historical information had now shown the two towns in Bayam as everyone subconsciously but obliviously accepted this fact.
The only exceptions who had known about this fooling were those who were angels and above. However, Sequence 2 and Sequence 1 angels only had a feeling that history had been changed—but not knowing what. Only true deities and Great Old Ones were aware of what part of history had been changed.
This is what it meant to fool history as a True Deity.
However, Klein never wanted to make the City of Silver's and Moon City's residents forget their experiences. If you never remembered you were in the darkness to begin with, you will never appreciate the light.
So, Klein was careful on his intentions. He wanted the world's history to be fooled, but he was careful not to fool the City of Silver's and Moon City's history.
…
In Bayam.
Derrick Berg sat on his bed, admiring the sunshine that spilt through his windows.
After The Fool had delivered them from the darkness, he couldn't help but stare at the sun. It reminded him of the books he used to read, and the stories that used to be told.
But now, not only was he seeing the sun, he was feeling its warmth.
This only increased his gratitude for The Fool. But he didn't forget the history that the City of Silver went through.
The countless deaths, the thousands of years of darkness, suffering and agony…
He will never forget.
He looked outside, peeking at the city square.
He saw a crowd of people calmly but confusingly walking towards the city. They looked deformed. Strange. Different.
Immediately, a city elder ran up towards them.
"It seems like you all have been saved from the Forsaken Land as well!"
"Have you heard of our Lord and Savior, The Fool?"
Derrick's expression lit up as he ran outside of his room. He was eager to join the conversation.
"Mother, Father! I'll be back!" He said as he later rushed outside of his house, not even allowing them to respond.
On a particular roof, Klein sat as he watched the excited and happy Derrick run to spread the faith of him.
The wind blew his coat lightly as he told himself, "I think this is a better fate for him…"
Suddenly, he had felt an illusory feeling. His spiritual intuition instantly told him who it was.
It was Alger and Audrey. They had finally made a connection with the items from the that was previously tainted by Celestial Worthy's aura.
Klein chuckled once more as he instantly disappeared from Earth, heading over to the grey fog.
…
In the Astral World.
This was dark and vast place. In the corner, a sun hung in the distance with all sorts of concepts and symbols surrounding it. The sun was painted with pastel colors, as if someone who wasn't that good at drawing had deliberately allowed it to be that way.
In a next corner, there were invisible gazes staring at certain points.
Then, in a next corner, there was a hand-drawn crimson moon, flashing with light.
The 'future' Evernight wandered here as she used Beyonder Convergence of Characteristics to be drawn to this crimson moon. 'She' wasn't in her giant form—'She' only allowed herself to be covered by a star-speckled dress and a dark, translucent cover over 'Her' face.
'She' then stepped onto the kingdom of the 'past' Evernight, landing on slumber flowers and night vanilla.
'She' simply stared at 'Her' past kingdom, waiting for 'Herself' to come out.
