Chapter 1040: Marshal Celebos' ultimate weapon

Chapter 1040: Marshal Celebos' ultimate weapon

"Hey, red cheeks, why not surrender already? If you raise both your hands now, I'll accept you as a nuts-peeling servant. How about that? You'll even get a day off and can eat the shells too." Holak clapped a few times, watching Celebos retreat before him once again.

"You filthy rat! Haven't you heard the saying that you can kill a man, but you can't insult him? Stop your nonsense and fight seriously!" First Marshal Celebos was nearly losing his mind. The unbearable feeling of humiliation coursed through his body every time Holak opened his mouth.

At the very start of the fight, First Marshal Celebos had summoned three five-horned serpents. Each serpent was over ten meters long and capable of dealing with multiple imperial guards on its own. Even Holak had despaired of finding a way through them.

So, he simply ignited his shield with the Purging Flame and leaped straight into their midst. Like a rat jumping into a cup filled with acid, Holak's skin began to peel, and his nails started disintegrating. But that was all. Holak only needed a fraction of a second amidst all this chaos to deliver a blow to Marshal First Selebos. That strike sent him flying from between the summoned Durger constructs, crashing down amidst the planetary imperials.

"I can kill a man but can't insult him?" Holak widened his eyes as if he had just grasped some sacred truth. Then he placed a hand above his eyes, scanning the surroundings. "...What man?"

"Son of a―!" Marshal First Selebos finally lost his patience. Pointing forward, he

commanded: Hisss! Hisss! Hisss! The Durger constructs charged at Holak once again from three directions, but this time, he began dealing with them relatively easily.

Crack Crack The marshal's teeth and knuckles ground together with intensity. Holak can be a predictable and irritating opponent, but he is terrifying- A true monster!

His body represented the pinnacle of human physical perfection. Every function in it had nearly reached its zenith, not just his muscles. His regenerative capabilities were exaggerated to the point where he could heal almost instantly upon being injured. His liver's detoxification function treated incoming poisons as if they were mere candy.

Just moments ago, Holak had injected a quantity of poison containing the Law of Corrosion directly into his palm. His palm had immediately turned black and begun to crack. Yet now, the discoloration was gone, the cracks healed, and the poison was nowhere to be found!

"...In the end, I'll have to use my ultimate weapon in such a filthy place?" Marshal First Selebos placed a hand on his hip and pulled out a coiled leather whip from beneath his cloak. "But no matter. It will enjoy the blood of that blue bastard!"

Selebos gripped the whip's handle and let the rest of it unravel, revealing its natural length of nearly ten meters. He charged forward, and with a sharp Zaaap, the whip descended like a

thunderbolt, aiming to cut through anything in its path.

"Tsk, another child's toy?" Holak raised an eyebrow as he saw the whip approach. He pushed the nearest Durger construct away with the force of his left palm and quickly raised his hand to catch the whip's tip. Crack! Yet, the whip slipped from his grasp. "Huh?"

"Hahaha! What do you think now? Do you still believe everything can be solved with brute strength?" Marshal First }elebos burst out laughing.

Holak opened and closed his hand several times, seemingly trying to comprehend what had just happened. Whatever it was, it had left a gap in his left hand!

"The Heavenly Law of Energy?!" Robin shouted, almost falling off his chair.

"... I thought it would take you longer to reach that conclusion, but yes, it is the Heavenly Law of Energy," Pythor said, equally surprised. Robin had arrived at the answer in less than a minute.

"I understand that energy is considered a heavenly law, but can it really be used in this way?" Robin leaned back on his throne, slowly stroking his chin. "Like soul and blood, energy has a unique existence that cannot be categorized. This isn't because it's mysterious like soul or blood, but because of its simplicity."

Robin extended his left hand as he continued, "Energy patterns are extremely simple and devoid of any hidden intricacies. They are just frameworks to guide how we use energy, responsible for basic functions like energy absorption, its release from the body, and its transformation into other laws when needed. There's nothing within them that can serve as a foundation. They're just auxiliary factors-using them to build a foundation is like trying to cook a meal using only salt!"

"... Again, my rival, is this really the first time you're hearing about this? This is becoming unsettling," Pythor raised a single eyebrow, his gaze toward Robin tinged with awe.

When Pythor had first learned about the Fourth Path for humans, he had been dumbfounded, unable to grasp the entirety of it in one sitting, let alone predict anything. Now, Robin was practically finishing his sentences.

"Oh, don't sell yourself short. It's simply my field of expertise, so it's no surprise I'm well- versed in it," Robin waved, laughing.

"Don't try to make me feel better. You do have some intelligence, I'll give you that," Pythor sighed. The conversation now felt more like a casual chat between old friends. "Anyway, you've pinpointed the exact problem with the Fourth Path: it exists, but it lacks true weight." "Could you elaborate? Was the path truly created, or did it remain just a concept?" Robin asked eagerly, wanting to follow this discussion to its conclusion.

"Of course, the path was created. The foundations were built using the patterns of the Energy Law itself. As we speak, there are many humans following it-individuals who can use all heavenly laws without restrictions!" Pythor declared, enjoying the incredulous look on Robin's face.

"This...!" Robin felt his understanding of the world collapsing. Everything he knew about cultivation systems seemed obsolete in the face of such a perfect cultivation path. But... Robin frowned. "Why is this only the Fourth Path? Why weren't all other paths discarded in favor of this one?"

"Because lifting the restrictions didn't help them much, of course," Pythor laughed heartily. "Everyone who follows the Fourth Path is an idiot eating dirt wherever they go!"
