Lord: Sequence Master

Chapter 244: Doomsday Twilight and the True God's Legacy

Rosen flipped through the final memories of the Hunter True God. These thoughts represented the god's last will.

Although the Hunter True God could have chosen to destroy their memories, they had instead cooperated in preserving them. The reason was simple: the Hunter True God harbored a deeper hatred for the Prey True God.

Now that Rosen had acquired the Dusk Battlefield, and he was also part of the Hunter Sequence, it was inevitable that he would one day elevate the Hunter Sequence to True Godhood and eventually face the Prey True God.

No matter who fell in that future confrontation, the Hunter True God would find peace in the afterlife.

Rosen exited the Mysterious Study Room, holding the network cable in his hand, and approached the statue of the Hunter True God.

This statue contained fragments of the Hunter True God's godhood, stored faith, and served as the control center for the Dusk Battlefield. Additionally, it was a guardian puppet at the Sequence 1 level.

When preparing for revival, the Hunter True God had known they would not have the strength to control the Dusk Battlefield immediately upon taking over a weaker body.

Thus, they had long since created this Sequence 1 guardian puppet as a safeguard to manage the battlefield.

Now, by refining the statue, Rosen could utilize the faith stored within it to fully manipulate the Dusk Battlefield.

Since the Hunter True God had already begun reshaping the statue's appearance into Rosen's likeness, the control rights had partially transferred.

Under the Main God Computer's invasive divine hacking, Rosen quickly refined the statue.

[Dusk Battlefield: Miracle Artifact]

[Level: True God]

[Miracle Attribute: The Dusk Battlefield can preserve the final glory of a civilization.]

[Miracle Traits: Twilight's End, Unique Across Heaven and Earth, Eternal and Indestructible]

The properties of the Dusk Battlefield were surprisingly simple, yet its power was terrifying in its simplicity.

Many civilizations did not perish due to external enemies or internal collapse but were instead abandoned by the Main World itself. They were deemed obsolete and no longer fit to exist in the Main World.

However, nothing in the universe is absolute.

The Dusk Battlefield represented a slim ray of hope for these doomed civilizations.

When a civilization reached its twilight, teetering on the brink of destruction, the Dusk Battlefield could seal away the remnants of that civilization within its internal world, plunging the civilization into dormancy until the day Twilight's End was activated.

To activate Twilight's End, four extraordinary artifacts needed to be merged into one.

Once this occurred, all civilizations sealed within the Dusk Battlefield would participate in a final apocalyptic survival battle.

Through slaughter and plunder, these civilizations would strengthen themselves, and the last surviving civilization would be granted the chance to return to the Main World.

So far, the Dusk Battlefield contained over one hundred civilizations, ranging in strength.

The strongest among them were Eight-Calamity Civilizations, while the weakest were One-Calamity Civilizations.

There were no recorded Nine-Calamity Civilizations sealed within. Rosen wasn't sure if this was because Nine-Calamity Civilizations couldn't enter or simply chose not to.

Even with only Eight-Calamity Civilizations, the power contained within the Dusk Battlefield was unimaginable.

To put things into perspective, the World Government, with its dozen or so True Gods, was merely a Two-Calamity Civilization.

Although Rosen couldn't yet use the Dusk Battlefield's attributes or miracle traits, its other value was undeniable.

The Dusk Battlefield was one of the most powerful world-class extraordinary artifacts.

Its internal world could seal Eight-Calamity Civilizations, a testament to its immense strength.

Once inside the Dusk Battlefield, even a True God wouldn't be able to trace its whereabouts.

Additionally, the Hunter True God had left behind a temple and several treasures within the Dusk Battlefield.

Rosen wasted no time and headed to the treasure vault located in the back hall of the temple.

Using the statue to unlock the vault, he was greeted by mountains of divine crystals of various grades.

These, however, were merely pocket change compared to the six truly priceless treasures stored inside.

Rosen approached a treasure resembling a circular tank, filled with golden divine liquid.

Suspended within the liquid was a golden brain, pulsating faintly with life.

This brain belonged to a True God and contained not only the god's godhood but also their divine kingdom.

This was an extraordinary artifact at the True God level, known as the Jarred Deity by the Hunter True God.

The divine kingdom of this Jarred Deity was unique—not a tangible, material divine kingdom, but a spiritual one constructed partially from dream laws, existing only in the realm of dreams. Through the Jarred Deity, one could freely control this dream kingdom, shaping anything within it purely through imagination.

Of course, Rosen could not yet control the Jarred Deity and, in fact, had to work hard to maintain its seal.

This artifact was still alive—the Jarred Deity wasn't truly dead. If the seal were lifted without proper control, the deity could eventually recover its erased self-awareness and revive from its half-dead state.

Rosen moved to the second treasure: a Miracle Skill Crystal.

This crystal was also one of the main reasons for his coming here.

Unlike the skill crystals derived from it that had been distributed by the Hunter True God, this crystal possessed the Unique Across Heaven and Earth and Eternal and Indestructible miracle traits.

In essence, this was the source crystal, while the distributed skills were merely replicas.

Just like his soul paintings, the primary crystal could significantly influence its offshoots.

Rosen carefully inspected the crystal and confirmed it was trap-free. He hesitated for a moment, debating whether to refine it.

When hunters reach Sequence 3, a specific weakness emerges.

Whether wielding bows or firearms, the focus of their combat is long-range attacks.

For demigods, however, domains are crucial to their strength.

Domains are centered around the demigod's own body, but when arrows or bullets are fired at long distances, they lose the protection and amplification of the hunter's domain while simultaneously falling under the suppressive influence of the enemy's domain.

This Miracle Skill's main function was to allow bullets and arrows to carry the domain, applying it even at extreme ranges.

However, with his Void Eye, Rosen could already attach domains to bullets through spatial abilities. As a result, the value of this Miracle Skill was greatly diminished for him, leaving only the miracle traits as potentially valuable.

Unfortunately, without refining the crystal, Rosen could only see its attributes, not its miracle traits.

Although this Miracle Skill was originally devised by the Hunter True God, the god had relied on the Void Eye for similar functionality and had therefore never actually mastered this skill.

If Rosen wanted to uncover the crystal's miracle traits, he would either have to refine it himself or have another hunter refine it, only to kill them afterward to reclaim the crystal.

Rosen opened his Void Sketchbook, fused with his divine avatar, and used the power of the Bronze Dragon to enhance a Time Prophecy Painting.

When the completed painting revealed a smiling face, Rosen decisively picked up the crystal and began refining it.

[Halo Domain: Miracle Skill]

[Miracle Attribute: Allows domains to be transformed into halos and attached to bullets and arrows, effective at ultra-long range.]

[Miracle Trait: Miracle Halos, Unique Across Heaven and Earth, Eternal and Indestructible]

Rosen carefully examined the Miracle Halos trait and couldn't help but smile.

Domains could now be converted into halos, and since domains were essentially manifestations of rule authorities, and skills themselves were also manifestations of rule authorities, this trait allowed all mastered skills to be transformed into halos.

These halos could then be layered onto bullets and arrows, activating the skill effects upon hitting a target.

At first glance, this seemed somewhat redundant given Rosen's Deadly Strike, which also allowed him to stack various skills onto a bullet while charging it.

However, the two abilities were fundamentally different.

Deadly Strike compressed and fused various skills within the bullet.

Miracle Halos, on the other hand, transformed skills into halos that encased the bullet's exterior.

The two mechanisms—one internal and one external—could coexist, enabling both to trigger simultaneously.

This meant that, with Miracle Halos, combined with Deadly Strike, Rosen could unleash dual-layered skills at the same time.

Even better, the two skill sets could synergize perfectly under the unified control of Miracle Halos.

For example:

Rosen's Ashen Armor-Piercing skill provided a 250% baseline damage boost.

Now, with dual-layered stacking, this bonus could increase to 500%.

This wasn't just a matter of doubling damage—it was an exponential improvement, especially when considering enemy defenses.

Previously, a 250% boost might result in only 50% real damage against a target with 200% real defense.

But now, with an additional 250%, the total damage would reach 300%, effectively delivering six times the original damage output.

Rosen toyed with a bullet in his hand as halos began to materialize around it one by one.

As more and more halos appeared, the bullet gradually transformed into a glowing sphere.

At this point, Rosen couldn't help but wonder—was there any Sequence 3 that could possibly stand against him now?

Rosen approached the third treasure, a palm-sized book.

[Trap Manual: Extraordinary Artifact]

[Level: Sequence 2]

[Attributes: The Trap Manual can record traps up to ten times the user's spiritual intensity.]

[Traits: Trap Enhancement, Trap Solidification, Trap Stacking]

At first glance, Rosen didn't think much of it, but after searching the Hunter True God's memories through the Main God Computer, he quickly changed his mind.

Despite being only Sequence 2, this was essentially a divine tool for trap hunters.

Rosen rarely used traps nowadays because traps were better suited for defensive situations.

His enemies were either weaker than him and easily overwhelmed, or so strong that setting traps was futile.

However, this Trap Manual completely changed the awkward limitations of trap-related skills.

First, Trap Enhancement could double the base effects of trap skills.

Next, Trap Solidification allowed traps to be instantly solidified anywhere.

Without solidification, traps would gradually weaken and dissipate unless anchored within the Void Gallery, which would require the gallery to continuously supply spiritual energy to maintain the trap's existence. This was both slow and resource-intensive.

But with instant trap solidification, the usability of trap skills was greatly expanded.

For instance, traps could now be converted into Miracle Halos, attached to bullets, and solidified on enemies upon impact. This would essentially force the enemy to carry inescapable traps with them, drastically increasing the value and versatility of trap skills.

Lastly, Trap Stacking allowed traps to be layered and fused for even greater power.

Rosen immediately refined the Trap Manual and began using its Trap Space to stack and store traps. He also filled the manual with as many traps as possible, ensuring that in future battles, he could overwhelm his enemies by simply unleashing hundreds of traps at once.

Next, Rosen approached the fourth and fifth treasures, which were designed as a pair.

[Hunting Gun Holster: Extraordinary Artifact]

[Level: Sequence 1]

[Attributes: Gradually enhances firearm attributes and breaks limits to increase the firearm's sequence level.]

[Traits: Firearm Enhancement, Firearm Repair, Firearm Enchantment]

...

[Hunting Gem: Extraordinary Artifact]

[Level: Sequence 0]

[Attributes: Contains fragments of the hunting law as a rule gem.]

Both treasures were undoubtedly valuable, but Rosen couldn't yet use them.

At the very least, he needed to reach Sequence 3 to refine the Hunting Gun Holster. Only then could he enchant the Hunting Gem, a Sequence 0-level artifact, onto Dragon King's Wrath. For now, he reluctantly stored both treasures in his Miracle Pocket.

Finally, Rosen arrived at the last treasure: a rolled-up piece of animal hide.

[Hunter's Map: Miracle Artifact]

[Level: True God]

[Miracle Attribute: Within the range of the user's perception, marks all lifeforms with friend-or-foe identification.]

[Miracle Trait: Hunter, Unique Across Heaven and Earth, Eternal and Indestructible]

Though the Hunter's Map had only one miracle trait, its strength was comparable to that of the Twilight Battlefield, another True God-level artifact.

After understanding the Hunter trait's effect, Rosen suddenly felt that the Hunter True God's death wasn't unjustified.

The term "hunter" generally refers to those who make a living by hunting.

However, the miracle trait Hunter specifically referred to hunting humans.

Anyone possessing the Hunter's Map could accumulate Hunter Points by killing humans. These points could then be used to exchange for any abilities held by the humans killed, including complete divine laws possessed by deities.

This seemingly unassuming map was, in fact, the ultimate nemesis of all humanity.

If Rosen learned that someone else owned this map, he would stop at nothing to eliminate them.

He even began to suspect that this map might have been the true cause of the Hunter True God's demise.

Rosen securely locked the Hunter's Map in the drawer of his Main God Computer desk inside the Mysterious Study Room. Without the strength of a True God, this map was far too dangerous to carry outside. If it were discovered, it could provoke relentless pursuit from human True Gods skilled in prophecy.

Rosen emptied the entire treasury of all the divine crystals before preparing to leave the Twilight Battlefield.

However, on second thought, leaving now might not be safe.

It was highly likely that the Hunting True God's eyes and ears were constantly watching the Hunting Canyon. Leaving too early would arouse suspicion. Historically, hunters who entered the Twilight Battlefield usually stayed for a month. Leaving prematurely would be akin to announcing his presence. Rosen had no desire to catch the attention of a True God so soon.

With nothing else to do, Rosen continued studying the Hunting True God's temple.

By carefully analyzing the Hunting True God's memories, he discovered that the temple itself held immense value.

Using the temple's divine statue as a medium, the guardian golem could erase the memories of foreign hunters.

Beyond protecting the temple, the guardian golem could also indirectly draw on a portion of the Twilight Battlefield's sealing power through the temple.

If the Twilight Battlefield could seal civilizations as powerful as eight-cycle civilizations, erasing mere memories was hardly a challenge.

After familiarizing himself with the guardian golem, Rosen delved deeper into the Hunting True God's memories to uncover their hidden value.

His Hunter Sequence was still missing one skill, so he searched to see if the Hunting True God had any suitable skills that he could learn.

Sure enough, he found one—a skill created by the Hunting True God using the Void Eye.

The Void Eye could attach a domain to bullets for long-range effectiveness, but for hunters, accuracy and damage were the most critical factors.

If you couldn't hit your target, there would be no damage. And if your damage wasn't high enough, even a hit would be pointless.

Thus, the Hunting True God created a special skill called Psychic Bullet.

This unique skill allowed bullets to become an extension of the user's spiritual essence, enabling free manipulation and redirection mid-air. Moreover, Psychic Bullets could directly attack an enemy's spiritual consciousness.

The innate Hunter skill could at most deal damage to divine essence, but unless a god's divine essence suffered fatal injury, a demigod's spiritual consciousness would remain largely unaffected.

However, Psychic Bullets directly targeted spiritual consciousness. If the bullet carried the Sloth Godhood, for instance, a demigod's spiritual consciousness struck by the bullet would immediately succumb to the effects of the Sloth Godhood, bypassing all defenses.

Like Psychic Canvas and Time Bullets, Psychic Bullets could influence spiritual consciousness.

However, Psychic Bullets were specialized for offensive use, making them far more lethal than the secondary effects of the other two skills.

To acquire the Psychic Bullet skill, one needed to use the pituitary gland of an Abyssal Mind Controller.

The better the gland's quality, the stronger the Psychic Bullet's effects.

That said, the gland couldn't be too high quality, as the Psychic Bullet was only a Sequence 4 skill.

Through the Main God Hall, Rosen offered a bounty to purchase the pituitary gland of a Sequence 2 Abyssal Mind Controller. Meanwhile, his self-portrait avatar on Paradise Island used the Abyssal Horn to contact the Abyssal Realm to check for any in-stock options.

Half a month later, after spending a considerable amount of divine crystals, Rosen finally acquired one through the Main God Hall.

Following the Hunting True God's memories, Rosen carefully processed the pituitary gland. He placed it on his forehead, transferring the Hunter's extraordinary source to his pineal gland, and began gradually absorbing the pituitary gland. This process modified his pineal gland, eventually generating the Psychic Bullet skill within his extraordinary source.

[Psychic Bullet: Enables spiritual consciousness to perfectly merge with bullets, directly attacking the enemy's spiritual consciousness.]

Rosen transformed Dragon King's Wrath into a handgun and casually loaded a single bullet infused with his spiritual consciousness.

The bullet immediately became an extension of his spiritual essence, allowing him to cast nearly any skill through it.

While the Miracle Halo could attach skills to bullets, it was limited to skills that inherently worked on projectiles.

For example, Void Blink couldn't be attached, as it was a self-targeting skill. The Miracle Halo couldn't transform Void Blink into a halo to enhance bullets.

But now that bullets had become an extension of his spiritual essence, Rosen could use Void Blink on the bullet itself, enabling it to teleport endlessly.

However, this wasn't the Psychic Bullet's greatest value.

Rosen realized he could use the bullet to draw.

Bang!

A bullet shot out of the barrel and, under the manipulation of his spiritual consciousness, curved and weaved through the air.

The bullet acted like the tip of a pen, drawing a circle in mid-air.

Even though a single bullet's drawings were rudimentary, they still counted as art.

This automatically activated Simplified Time Drawing. Moreover, since the bullet was considered an extension of his spiritual essence, it also benefited from the time acceleration effect of Simplified Time Drawing, which only activated during the drawing process.

A bullet's speed in its ultimate state could increase up to 150 times. What kind of enemy could possibly react in time to dodge such an attack?

Excited, Rosen began testing various skill combinations, determined to uncover all the hidden potential of Psychic Bullets and Halo Domain.

By integrating different skills, his goal was to achieve unparalleled destructive power that transcended his Sequence level.
