Chapter 500: Root Universe and Ascension to Cycle Lifeform

In the Cosmic Origin Sea, Rosen integrated the final Cosmic Source Seed into the Heart of the Universe after stripping it away. Initially, the Root Micro-Universe required a Cosmic Source Seed to sustain its existence. However, as the micro-universe continuously absorbed Void Essence and Time Essence, the Root Micro-Universe wouldn't collapse even without a Cosmic Source Seed. In fact, by completely severing its ties with the New Universe, it shed its constraints and gained even greater potential.

Rosen manipulated the Heart of the Universe to integrate the Cosmic Source Seed, while simultaneously taking out the recently stripped-away Cosmic Will's memory world. As the memory world merged into the Heart of the Universe, he distinctly felt the hidden will within the memory world begin to revive. This was the Cosmic Will, reviving by leveraging the memory world and the New Universe's Heart of the Universe.

The gradually reviving Cosmic Will began to contend with Rosen for control of the New Universe. If this were in the past, it might indeed have succeeded, as the Cosmic Will's compatibility with the Heart of the Universe far exceeded his own. However, with the New Universe continuously refining cosmic barrier remnants, the New Universe was already vastly different from its initial state. Therefore, even if the Cosmic Will revived through the memory world, it would be impossible for it to seize the New Universe from him.

Rosen suddenly realized that the Chaos Saint God and Dimensional Saint God had been tricked. They had exhausted their efforts trying to contend for the New Universe, even using the memory world as one of their cards in the struggle. But they didn't know that the combination of the memory world and the Heart of the Universe could actually revive the Cosmic Will. If he hadn't hunted them down and eliminated them, they wouldn't have obtained the New Universe even if they had succeeded back then. The successfully revived Cosmic Will would have rendered all their plans futile.

Rosen even felt a bit fortunate at that moment that he hadn't successfully captured the Dimensional Saint God back then. Because if he had killed the Dimensional Saint God and obtained the memory world at that time, he wouldn't have had the ability to contend with the revived Cosmic Will for the New Universe. So, in a sense, the Dimensional Saint God truly had helped him immensely.

Rosen re-stripped the memory world, then sealed the Cosmic Will and examined its memories. A Cosmic Will that didn't control a universe simply couldn't contend with his Eye of Nightfall. Rosen easily saw all of the Cosmic Will's memories. He was surprised to find that he had overestimated the Cosmic Will in the past. In his previous understanding, the Cosmic Will had sacrificed itself to enable those Primeval Lifeforms.

However, the Cosmic Will's memories showed otherwise. The Cosmic Will had no intention of sacrificing itself to fulfill anyone. To the Cosmic Will, all Primeval Lifeforms were products it had created. If Primeval Lifeforms were disobedient, the Cosmic Will's idea was simply to kill them and replace them with a new batch. Then, the Cosmic Will was controlled by the Eye of Nightfall, and the Cosmic Will's memories were tampered with by the Eye of Nightfall. The manipulated, self-less Cosmic Will was the one he knew as the one that left behind the Natural Joyous Movement and Natural Compassionate Movement.

Rosen was now very certain that the Primeval Universe had been manipulated from beginning to end. Whether it was the Cosmic Will's destruction or the Primeval Lifeforms' transcendence, the hands of the Nightfall and Dark Sun factions were behind it all. They had destroyed all other universes, leaving only the Primeval Universe. It was clear they had some agenda. However, Rosen didn't yet understand what that agenda was.

He had suspected that his own life might have been artificially manipulated to reach this point. But upon closer thought, it seemed unlikely. What did he possess that would be worth the plotting of two factions capable of destroying the Great Cycle Realm? With their strength, what couldn't they accomplish?

Rosen suspected that the two factions had suffered severe damage in their struggle against the Cycle Will. Otherwise, he had already destroyed tens of thousands of cosmic remnants, creating a massive stir across the Great Cycle Realm, yet no one had come looking for him from beginning to end. It seemed as if the entire Great Cycle Realm, apart from a few survivors in small micro-universes, no longer held any living beings.

Rosen returned to reality via the memory world, continuing his consumption of universes. The Root Micro-Universe still needed at least ten thousand cosmic remnants to break its limits and transform into a Root Universe.

Once his true form becomes a Cycle Lifeform, he'll truly be able to control both the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye and the Eye of Nightfall. Furthermore, when his Root Heavenly Eye evolves into a Cycle Organ, fully integrating the two eyes, it will be much simpler to both explore the memory world, primarily governed by the Cycle Will, and locate the two major factions.

Fifty thousand years quickly passed. Rosen sent the last of the cosmic remnant fragments into the Cosmic Origin Sea. Although his cosmic clone took the lion's share, and the Root Micro-Universe only a small portion, the micro-universe's world barrier had reached its critical point. It was on the verge of transforming into a cosmic barrier, at which point it could devour cosmic remnant fragments entirely, and surpassing the cosmic clone in growth would only be a matter of time.

At this final crucial moment, Rosen entered the Root Micro-Universe, transforming into all things. His Indestructible Will and his Primeval Sacred Body completely merged with the Root Micro-Universe. At this very moment, the Root Micro-Universe was his true form, and he could clearly feel the entire process of the world barrier completely transforming into a cosmic barrier.

What is the difference between a world barrier and a cosmic barrier? Rosen had researched for countless years, but no matter how he studied them, they appeared identical on the surface. It was simply that a cosmic barrier was thicker and stronger, while a world barrier was thinner and weaker. Even after years of the Root Micro-Universe continuously absorbing nutrients from cosmic barriers and constantly transforming, he still didn't know what the true difference was. But at this moment, Rosen finally understood the most fundamental difference between a cosmic barrier and a world barrier.

Worlds vary in strength. The weakest worlds merely possess space, while stronger worlds contain spacetime. Even more powerful worlds encompass all things, just like a universe. A micro-universe is the most powerful type of world, but even the strongest world has a fundamental difference when compared to a universe. This difference is that a world is dead, while a universe is alive.

All universes are not inanimate objects, but truly living entities in the truest sense of the word. All things possess spirits; even a stubborn stone can give birth to life, let alone the universe itself, which nurtures all living beings. While not all universes can give birth to a Cosmic Will and fully come alive, all universes are inherently alive. Because a universe is alive, it can grow and has infinite possibilities.

Since it is a living entity, it naturally has a birth and a death. As long as a universe is alive, it will continuously grow. When that growth ceases, the universe reaches the end of its life. However, a universe, as a living entity, possesses an exceptionally strong vitality. Even in death, remnants of this vitality will endure eternally in its corpse.

The cosmic clone devoured tens of thousands of cosmic barriers. Even if it only consumed half of each, that's still incredibly astonishing. However, the cosmic clone didn't become tens of thousands of times stronger; it didn't even become thousands or hundreds of times stronger. At most, it only became tens of times stronger. Besides the exhaustion of the cosmic remnants' origins, this was also because very little residual vitality remained within the cosmic barriers.

Why can Cycle Lifeforms of the Indestructible Will system achieve memory immortality? Why could the Primeval Lifeforms of the Primeval Universe era become Cycle Lifeforms after killing the Cosmic Will? The key lies in this vitality originating from the universe. When Primeval Lifeforms merge with this vitality, they can ascend to Cycle Lifeforms. However, even Cycle Lifeforms can at most integrate this vitality but do not understand its essence.

Rosen, with his cosmic clone, could barely perceive it. It was only because he was a cosmic clone, and his true form transformed into a micro-universe and then ascended to a universe, that he could truly perceive this extremely special vitality. Now, his memories also possess the indestructible characteristic.

Each of the three types of Indestructible Will at the Primeval Lifeform level has an upper limit of ten thousand points. Strictly speaking, Primeval Lifeforms are not unable to exceed this limit. Rather, even if they generate more Indestructible Will, their self-awareness struggles to control it. Uncontrolled Indestructible Will only leads to endless calamities.

However, a Cycle Lifeform's memory is indestructible; it can persist eternally even if its Indestructible Will is obliterated. Furthermore, indestructible memories are difficult to erase even by the destruction of the Great Cycle Realm; they can survive to the Great Cycle Realm's next cycle of rebirth.

Therefore, a Cycle Lifeform that possesses indestructible memories, while not necessarily the strongest among all Cycle Lifeforms, is certainly the most troublesome. If you can't defeat them, they'll wear you down; if they can't wear you down, they'll outlast you; and if they can't outlast you, they'll annoy you to death.

Even if a Cycle Lifeform were to appear now, powerful enough to completely obliterate Rosen's Indestructible Will, he could, by virtue of his indestructible memories, directly integrate his own memories into this Cycle Lifeform's memories, then engage in an endless war with them at the memory level. He could lose countless times, but if that Cycle Lifeform loses just once, he would seize their body and be reborn. This is the most terrifying aspect of indestructible memories. However, it is very difficult for a Primeval Lifeform of the Indestructible Will system to become a Cycle Lifeform.

If a naturally born Cycle Lifeform like the Void Giant God required one unit of cosmic vitality to become a Cycle Lifeform, then acquiring indestructible memories would require ten units of nourishment.

Therefore, theoretically, killing one Cosmic Will is already quite good for giving birth to a Cycle Lifeform of the Indestructible Will system. However, when the Cosmic Will of the Primeval Universe perished, dozens of Cycle Lifeforms emerged in one go, like chickens and dogs ascending to heaven.

This implies that the Primeval Universe's cosmic vitality was a hundred times that of an ordinary universe. Otherwise, after giving birth to dozens of Cycle Lifeforms, it wouldn't have had enough residual power for two nirvana rebirths. The key to the Primeval Universe's two destructions and rebirths, besides the Cosmic Will also mastering the indestructible system, was its unusually vast vitality.

In endless deep space, the Ark of Doom gradually approached a cosmic remnant. A fist-sized sphere of light floated out from the captain's cabin, rapidly expanding as it neared the cosmic remnant in the blink of an eye. The sphere of light, like a seed, rooted and sprouted. Countless roots grew in the void, enveloping the entire cosmic remnant. As all the roots retracted back into the seed, the cosmic remnant also disappeared.

Rosen sensed the indestructible roots anchoring into the cosmic barrier, devouring the residual vitality and cosmic origin within. Only special essence remained, which even the current Root Universe couldn't consume. This wasn't the Root Universe's first predation. Since becoming a Cycle Lifeform, Rosen had embarked on a frenzy of devouring. With each meal, he could feel the Root Universe growing stronger.

Rosen integrated the Root Universe into his own consciousness sea, using it as the core to reshape his Cycle Sacred Body. As the Root Universe continuously consumed, his Indestructible Will and Cycle Sacred Body simultaneously grew stronger. The Life Origin left by the Void Giant God was easily and completely digested by him, with no lingering hidden dangers.

However, the Cycle Sacred Body hadn't completely transformed to perfection yet. The Root Heavenly Eye, a Primeval Organ located between his eyebrows, still hadn't transformed into a Cycle Organ, even after devouring six cosmic remnants. Was the birth of a Cycle Organ even more difficult than the birth of indestructible memories? Rosen initially didn't understand, but after carefully studying the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye and the Eye of Nightfall, he realized.

In the Indestructible Will system, why is the highest level of indestructibility memory indestructibility? Why is the importance of memory even greater than Life Origin and Divine Origin? Because memory indestructibility is both the most difficult and the simplest. If it were merely simple memory indestructibility, it could actually be achieved at the peak of Eternity. However, this level of indestructibility is only pseudo-indestructibility; any indestructibility not fused with vitality is pseudo-indestructibility.

So, despite becoming a Cycle Lifeform, Rosen's only truly indestructible aspect was his memory. Other Life Origin and Divine Origin fused into his Indestructible Will were indeed indestructible under normal circumstances. But when faced with the extreme death generated by the death of a universe, the death force corresponding to cosmic vitality could completely obliterate the origin of his Indestructible Will.

Furthermore, the destruction of the Great Cycle Realm could also obliterate the origin within the Indestructible Will. Memory is the most ethereal, so it consumes the least cosmic vitality to transform into Indestructible Will. If the origin also wished to integrate cosmic vitality and become immune to even the destruction of the Great Cycle Realm and the death of universes, it would require an enormous amount of vitality. The birth of a Cycle Organ also required vitality, and the amount needed was at least equivalent to the total vitality of an entire universe.

If Rosen wanted to immediately transform the Root Heavenly Eye into a Cycle Organ, he would need to drain the entire Root Universe dry. If he were to extract the residual vitality from cosmic remnants, it would take at least ten thousand universes for the Root Heavenly Eye to be born. Although a single cosmic remnant is only worth one ten-thousandth of a complete universe, there are countless cosmic remnants in the universe.

Rosen isn't worried about the Root Heavenly Eye's transformation or the Root Universe's growth. 1.6 billion years is more than enough time for him to devour at least one hundred million cosmic remnants, which is more than enough to give birth to ten thousand Root Heavenly Eyes. What he's concerned about is the vanishing power of creation and destruction after countless universes have perished.

Currently, a cosmic remnant, including the Cycle Dark Sun and Nightfall Parasitic Flower, contains at most three ten-thousandths of its original vitality. The remaining nine thousand nine hundred ninety-seven ten-thousandths of the cosmic vitality, if not all, then at least most of it, has been taken by the mysterious mummies. The accumulation of cosmic vitality from countless universes, containing this much vitality, would constitute an unimaginably vast power.

And how powerful a destructive and lethal force could be generated by the cosmic death power formed from the death of countless universes? The Cycle Will's defeat by the two major factions was very likely related to these vanished cosmic death powers.

After consuming one cosmic remnant, Rosen eagerly tore through spacetime to reach the next. After ascending to a Cycle Lifeform, all his abilities were enhanced. The power of his Heaven-Splitting Divine Axe to tear spacetime rifts also greatly increased, so his current travel speed was at least several times faster. He could achieve his goal of ten thousand cosmic remnants with at most a hundred thousand years of effort.
