Chapter 514: The Reincarnation Council and the New Epoch Cycle

In the Great Reincarnation Realm's Endless Deep Space, the Great Circulatory Star Array composed of a million universes grew smaller and smaller. The individual Reincarnation Lords on the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree continuously harvested the universes within the formation, transforming each universe into nourishment for their own territories, creating various worlds within their Epoch Universes, and establishing countless life forms and diverse civilizations.

For Reincarnation Lords, the extraordinary amplification of their Lord Core depended on multiple factors. The stronger the Reincarnation Ancient Tree, the stronger the amplification; this was a collective amplification. Additionally, a well-developed personal territory would bring extra extraordinary amplification. While this extra amplification wasn't as comprehensive as the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree's overall amplification, external amplification was, in the end, external; the amplification from one's own territory was truly one's own.

So, for a time, all one hundred thousand and eight Reincarnation Lords, including Rosen, were doing their utmost to develop their territories. No one paid attention to the Great Circulatory Star Array, nor did anyone continue to suppress the collapse of spacetime. Thus, in just a few hundred thousand years, the Great Reincarnation Realm was reduced to only the spacetime directly surrounding the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree. By relying on the power of the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree and the one hundred thousand Reincarnation Lords, it wouldn't be difficult to forcibly withstand the spacetime collapse and extend their lives for hundreds of millions of years. However, there was no need, as forcing it would damage the foundation of the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree.

One day, all Reincarnation Lords collectively arrived at the Reincarnation Sanctuary in the communal territory. This was the first Reincarnation structure created by consuming the communal territory's territory origin. All Reincarnation Lords could project themselves into the Reincarnation Sanctuary to participate in the Reincarnation Council, and the Reincarnation Sanctuary also served as the medium through which all Reincarnation Lords jointly controlled the Reincarnation Sovereign's authority.

Inside the Reincarnation Sanctuary, there were eight Speaker seats in the front row, corresponding to which were one hundred thousand Councillor seats. As the projections of each Reincarnation Lord arrived and took their places, the first Reincarnation Council officially began.

"The destruction of the Epoch Cycle is imminent, and the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree is about to merge into the communal territory, shrinking into a memory seed," Rosen's voice resonated through the Reincarnation Sanctuary. "You are all well aware of the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree's growth over these past few hundred thousand years. We are fully confident in collectively passing through Spacetime Reincarnation and reaching the next Epoch Cycle. But before that, we have one important task to accomplish.

"The Reincarnation Will was the previous Reincarnation Sovereign; it held that position for a full thousand Epoch Cycles. At the same time, the Reincarnation Will is also the source of the Indestructible Will system, the Indestructible Sovereign. No one knows how much power the Reincarnation Will, having shed its shell, still retains, nor does anyone know where it is hiding. Its existence is our greatest threat. Therefore, our most important task moving forward is to find the Reincarnation Will at all costs.

"Now begins the first vote of the Reincarnation Council. The minority will abide by the majority."

Two giant hourglasses appeared in the void: blue on the left for 'yes' and red on the right for 'no'. Rosen casually condensed a crystal of spacetime origin, which flashed into the blue hourglass. The Nightfall Sovereign and the other Epoch Sovereigns followed suit, all casting 'yes' votes without exception. The one hundred thousand Reincarnation Lords also began to vote according to their seat proximity; some agreed, some disagreed, but clearly the majority were in favor. Although everyone seemingly held equal power, there wouldn't be much dissent regarding a common decision made by the eight Epoch Sovereigns. This was because power originated from strength; power equality was merely a tool to win over hearts. If anyone truly set their mind on opposing the eight Epoch Sovereigns, not only did Rosen have veto power, but the combined might of the eight Epoch Sovereigns alone could eliminate any Reincarnation Lord they wished. They had too many means to reduce the number of Reincarnation Lords. So, even though many people who didn't want to take risks cast 'no' votes, the 'yes' votes still overwhelmingly accounted for ninety percent.

"The vote has passed. Next, we begin the search for the Reincarnation Will." Rosen said, activating the Destiny Computer's Reincarnation Sovereign authority.

Through the destiny network, parts of all Reincarnation Lords' indestructible wills converged towards the Reincarnation Sovereign authority. However, even so, they could not fully control this authority, only managing less than one-tenth of it. But even this one-tenth allowed them to mobilize incredibly powerful forces. The indestructible wills of one hundred thousand Reincarnation Lords instantly enveloped every corner of Endless Deep Space through the Great Reincarnation Realm, even delving into the already collapsed spacetime, searching every inch within the Great Reincarnation Realm's world barrier.

The entire search process took only ten breaths, thanks to their control over one-tenth of the authority. No matter how well the Reincarnation Will could hide, it couldn't remain hidden in the face of such a thorough search. Therefore, not finding it meant the Reincarnation Will was not in Endless Deep Space.

Since it wasn't in Endless Deep Space, the only remaining hiding place was the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree. Therefore, all Reincarnation Lords' indestructible wills began to search within the territories of each Reincarnation Lord.

However, they searched all territories and still couldn't find the Reincarnation Will. The only remaining targets for the search were the one hundred thousand and eight Reincarnation Lords themselves. First, it was certain that the Reincarnation Will couldn't have replaced a Reincarnation Lord and taken over. This was because the Reincarnation Will's "cicada-shedding escape" was meant to shed karma, and becoming a Reincarnation Lord meant re-entangling with karma. Therefore, the most likely hiding place for the Reincarnation Will was within the memory of a particular Reincarnation Lord.

However, to examine a Reincarnation Lord's memory, one would need to delve into the level of their self-consciousness. A Reincarnation Lord whose memory was examined would effectively lose all privacy and be at the mercy of others. Thus, the search for the Reincarnation Will reached this point, and Rosen and the Nightfall Sovereign, among others, began to feel a headache. They insisted on continuing the search; the vote had already passed, so it could certainly proceed. However, doing so would be too offensive and would directly damage the prestige of the eight Epoch Sovereigns.

To be honest, ordinary Reincarnation Lifeforms weren't very concerned about the Reincarnation Will's fate. Previously, the two major factions and the Reincarnation Will were in a fight to the death because the Reincarnation Will wouldn't let them go. Now, the Reincarnation Will had clearly shed its shell and aimed for transcendence, so the threat to Reincarnation Lifeforms was no longer significant. If there was an opportunity to eliminate it, that was great, but if they couldn't, they weren't overly concerned. Rosen wanted to kill the Reincarnation Will because he was unhappy about being used as a scapegoat. The Nightfall Sovereign and the Dark Sun Sovereign simply harbored hatred. The other Epoch Sovereigns, like the Technology Sovereign, didn't really have a reason to eliminate the Reincarnation Will at all costs.

In this situation, searching the memory of every Reincarnation Lord could only be pushed forward forcibly by their combined efforts. If they found it, that would be good. If not, it would be a loss on all fronts.

"The first proposal is temporarily suspended. We will now proceed with the vote on the second proposal..." Rosen said after a moment of silence. "From now on, all Reincarnation Lords will remain in their respective territories. Except for Epoch Sovereigns, no one is permitted to contact or interact with each other, nor are they allowed to leave their territories. This lockdown will continue until the next Epoch Cycle."

All Reincarnation Lifeforms immediately understood Rosen's meaning upon hearing such a proposal. If the Reincarnation Will was indeed hiding in a Reincarnation Lifeform's memory, or had even taken control of that Reincarnation Lifeform, then all Reincarnation Lords remaining in their territories and not being allowed to leave meant that the Reincarnation Will would also be trapped within the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree, with no way out. Compared to having their memories forcibly examined, Rosen's proposal was a remedial measure after taking a step back.

While unwilling to have their memories probed, no one would refuse an opportunity to eliminate the Reincarnation Will, because a hidden Reincarnation Will posed a certain threat to everyone. What if the Reincarnation Will secretly controlled a Reincarnation Lifeform?

Rosen's second proposal passed unanimously. At this point, anyone who voted against it would essentially be admitting they had a problem. So, with a unanimous 'yes' vote, all Reincarnation Lords, except for the Epoch Sovereigns, returned to their respective territories. Anyway, the Great Reincarnation Realm was already at the point of destruction; there was nothing to do outside. It was better to develop their own territories. Thus, the Reincarnation Sanctuary was soon left with only the eight Epoch Sovereigns.

"Do you think it's possible the Reincarnation Will is among us?" Rosen suddenly asked. Although it had been proven that the mysterious disappearance of those Reincarnation Lifeforms from the Primeval Universe was due to the Reincarnation Will, this didn't mean that a hidden third faction within the two major factions didn't exist.

"It's not impossible," the Dark Sun Sovereign agreed.

"Let's all be careful," the Nightfall Sovereign said, dissipating his projection in the Reincarnation Sanctuary.

Rosen was the last to leave, pondering any other methods to find the Reincarnation Will. He took out the Heaven-Opening Divine Axe and the Chaos Orb formed from the Blue Star Universe; both had deep connections to Blue Star. There were also the cosmic clones formed from the Primeval Universe's three restarts, which were intimately related to the Reincarnation Will.

Years passed, and the spacetime collapse in the Great Reincarnation Realm's Endless Deep Space began to reach its end. The Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree, which had continuously expanded and grown, began to reverse its growth, constantly shrinking. It eventually integrated all its Epoch Universe fruits into the public territory, which was predominantly the Memory World, then contracted into a memory seed containing an intensely strong indestructible characteristic.

As the last bit of spacetime collapsed, the Great Reincarnation Realm reached the end of its world-destroying cycle. This was, without a doubt, the Great Reincarnation Realm's weakest moment.

The Reincarnation Will wished to transcend, and this was undoubtedly the easiest opportunity. However, Rosen and the others, poised and ready to emerge from the memory seed, never saw the Reincarnation Will appear from beginning to end. The Great Reincarnation Realm had reached the end of its destruction and was about to embrace rebirth.

The most core aspect of the Great Reincarnation Realm isn't Life-and-Death Reincarnation, but Spacetime Reincarnation. Therefore, the rebirth of the Great Reincarnation Realm, strictly speaking, isn't a phoenix-like nirvana from destruction, as seen in the Primeval Universe. Instead, it's a reversal of spacetime, returning from the end of destruction to its origin for rebirth.

Thus, one could visibly see the Great Reincarnation Realm beginning a terrifying spacetime reversal through Spacetime Reincarnation. The spacetime that had collapsed began to reshape, the destroyed cosmic remnants reappeared, and the state of these cosmic remnants flowed back 160 billion years. Civilizations and life that had once died within these universes reappeared, and then spacetime continued to reverse until it returned to the time when the universe first opened.

At this point in the Great Reincarnation Realm, countless universes had just been born. Life had just begun within these universes, the weakest of which were Primeval Lifeforms, mostly Reincarnation Lifeforms. Some of these Reincarnation Lifeforms' memories were preserved due to indestructible memory, while others, who hadn't mastered indestructible memory, completely forgot everything and returned to their newborn state. Reincarnation Lifeforms who retained their memories at this point would undoubtedly develop faster due to their past memories. The Great Reincarnation Realm, having restarted its Spacetime Reincarnation an unknown number of times, began a new Epoch Cycle.

The Great Reincarnation Realm, originally weakened to its extreme, returned to its peak after this round of Spacetime Reincarnation. However, this time's return to peak performance was somewhat inferior to previous Epoch Cycles. This was because, unlike universes that continuously grew stronger by drawing from the Great Reincarnation Realm's cosmic origin, the Great Reincarnation Realm did not draw origin from external sources. Over countless Epoch Cycles, the Great Reincarnation Realm's material and energy limits, without external interference, remained stably unchanged. The only thing that increased was spirituality, the mental power left behind by the thriving and multiplying beings.

A full one hundred thousand and eight Reincarnation Lords avoided Spacetime Reincarnation and did not return to their initial state. They, along with their Reincarnation Territories—which had merged with the mass of at least several universes—undoubtedly took a substantial bite out of the Great Reincarnation Realm. All Reincarnation Lords once again gathered in the Reincarnation Sanctuary, but this time, it wasn't their projections but their true bodies. As the Epoch Cycle Ancient Tree regrew in the central region of the Great Reincarnation Realm, the indestructible wills of all Reincarnation Lords also began to converge towards the Reincarnation Sovereign's authority through the destiny network. Then, by leveraging the Reincarnation Sovereign's authority, their collective indestructible will transformed into a new Reincarnation Will.

When the Great Reincarnation Realm was on the verge of destruction, all Reincarnation Lords jointly invoked this power to search for the Reincarnation Will. At that time, despite everyone doing their utmost, they could only control at most one-tenth of the Great Reincarnation Realm. Now, all Reincarnation Lords had become more powerful, yet their control over the Reincarnation Sovereign's authority could only reach one percent. It seemed the Great Reincarnation Realm at its peak was at least ten times weaker than during its weakest period. It was hard to imagine how much power the Reincarnation Will, by itself, could control over the Reincarnation Sovereign's authority during its peak.

Rosen sighed; that long-suppressed thought in his mind seemed to be getting closer to the truth. The Reincarnation Will shedding its shell to transcend was merely their conjecture from beginning to end. They had no way to verify what the Reincarnation Will truly wanted.

One hundred thousand Reincarnation Lords could control one percent of the Great Reincarnation Realm at its peak, and one-tenth of the Great Reincarnation Realm at its weakest point. So, if there were a million Reincarnation Lords, theoretically, they could completely control the Great Reincarnation Realm when it was at its weakest. One-tenth control still couldn't prevent the Great Reincarnation Realm's Spacetime Reincarnation. At most, they could use the Reincarnation Sovereign's authority to protect the memory seed from the effects of Spacetime Reincarnation.

But if a million Spacetime Lords could completely control all of the Reincarnation Sovereign's authority, and completely control the entire Great Reincarnation Realm, would the Great Reincarnation Realm's Spacetime Reincarnation still be forced to activate? Could it be stopped? Even one-tenth control at peak strength could practically only control Endless Deep Space. Even for a Reincarnation Lord, one-tenth control couldn't shake the Great Reincarnation Realm's world barrier. But if 100% control could fully control the world barrier, wouldn't it be possible to directly glimpse what lies outside the Great Reincarnation Realm? At the very least, they could completely control the Great Reincarnation Realm, making it no longer undergo Spacetime Reincarnation, but instead move in other directions according to the Reincarnation Sovereign's will.

If the Reincarnation Will truly had no intention of transcending, then it was indeed hidden within the Reincarnation Lords. And most likely, it was hidden within an Epoch Sovereign. Since the Reincarnation Will could once transform into the Indestructible Sovereign, transforming into another Epoch Sovereign was not impossible. He could think of this possibility, so the Nightfall Sovereign and the others must have thought of it too. It was clear that all Epoch Sovereigns were keeping secrets, each with their own schemes.
