Chapter 40: “Fix The World”
The stars hung motionless in the sky, their light pale against the vast emptiness of the Center World. Jay walked alone through the ruins of what was once a thriving country, now reduced to ash and silence. He clenched a tarot card in his hand, its edges worn from his grip.
He had once ruled here.
He had once believed in this world.
But faith had not saved it.
Jay had been chosen by fate, marked by the Crimson Moon, just like the others. When the world was filled with chaos, when the people tore each other apart with their newfound powers, he had tried to fix it. He had given them resources, guidance, and leadership. Yet, in the end, they had used their gifts to destroy everything.
The Center Society had collapsed. His kingdom had fallen. And he had abandoned it, just as it had abandoned him.

A Flashback to the Fall of Center Society
"It's the Crimson Moon!" someone had shouted, their voice filled with a mixture of fear and awe. The eerie red glow bathed the city, and Jay had watched as the people around him changed. Powers surged through their veins—some used them to heal, to build, but others… others used them to fight, to tear down what had been built.
Parker and Zhen, two brothers from another world, had tried to understand what was happening.
Meanwhile, Ryuta had followed Alexia and Roy for their safety. But Alexia had grown tired of his presence.
"What do you want?! We don't owe you anything! Who even are you?!" she had shouted at him, her frustration boiling over.
Before Ryuta could respond, shimmering particles from the Crimson Moon descended upon them. Their bodies shivered as energy surged through them. They had been gifted—or cursed—with abilities. But there was no time to explore their newfound strength.
A battle had already begun.
A figure emerged in the distance, walking calmly through the carnage. When he raised his hand, the ground trembled. His power, Quake, sent shockwaves through the air, knocking combatants to the ground, breaking bones, and sending a warning to all.
Ryuta, Alexia, and Roy had taken that as their cue to escape. They had fled, knowing they couldn't stand against such overwhelming power.
High above, Jay had watched in horror. His people were tearing themselves apart. His dream of a thriving Center World had crumbled. And so, he had done the only thing he could.
He ran.
He had walked tirelessly, aimless and broken, until he stumbled upon a small tarot card shop. He had entered, fingers brushing over the selection, until one card spoke to him. He picked it up and studied it, realizing its meaning reflected himself.
A selfish leader. A visionary. A ruler who had given everything and lost it all.
The tarot card he held was The Emperor—a symbol of power, control, and structure. The Emperor represented a ruler with a heavy burden, someone who built from nothing yet struggled under the weight of responsibility. Jay saw himself in the card's symbolism—his desire to create order but also his tendency to control too much, to dictate rather than trust.
He had taken the card. He had embraced his fate.

Present Time
Jay walked now with that same tarot card in his grasp. The past weighed on him, but he no longer sought to escape it. His purpose had been given to him anew.
The True Deity had summoned him. A being beyond all, a force that chose those worthy of ascending.
"You have been chosen," the deity had said, its voice echoing beyond the realm of mortals. "You will become part of the Six Thrones, a ruler above all. Your world was broken, but now you shall fix it."
A light had engulfed Jay, and when he awoke, he was not where he had been. He was in Existence 2—the Lost Existence. The realm of deception, lies, and illusion.
And he was not alone.
Summoned alongside him were Alexia, Roy, Merlin, Parker, and Zhen—each of them scattered and confused. They recognized one another, but Jay was a mystery to them.
"Who are you?" Alexia asked, cautious. "Were you summoned, too?"
Jay studied them before answering. "I was always here. I was the leader of the Center World."
Shock flashed across Alexia and Roy's faces. They had lived there, but they had never known the leader's name or face.
Jay turned the tarot card over in his fingers. "I have been given a task—to fix what was broken. To recreate the world as it was meant to be."
The others exchanged uncertain glances. The world was in shambles, and trust was not so easily given. But Jay had a plan. And whether they believed in him or not…
He would see it through.
