Lost In Fatal Existence

Chapter 44: Bounded.

The air was thick with tension as the group stood in the center of the vast, empty space, the remnants of the worlds they had just escaped from still lingering in the back of their minds. Roy, Merlin, Alexia, Parker, Zhen, and Jay had all returned from Lost Existence—a place of illusions, a world that had tested their resolve, separated them, and nearly broken them. But there was no time for reflection; the true battle was yet to come.

And then, there was Ryuta. Alone, still recovering from his time in Fatal Existence, the world where he had died and been reborn over and over, trapped by Joker's twisted powers. He had emerged from the black domain, the illusionary nightmare where he had fought for his survival, and now he stood before them once more.

The group turned toward him, a mixture of concern and confusion in their eyes. Ryuta's gaze swept over the faces of his friends—those who had made it out of Lost Existence. But then his eyes landed on Jay, who stood beside them. The confusion on Ryuta's face deepened.

"Who's this?" Ryuta asked, his voice guarded. "I don't remember him. Was he with you in Lost Existence?"

Alexia stepped forward, offering a small, reassuring smile. She had been the one to guide them through their trials in Lost Existence, but now they had to explain everything. "This is Jay," she began. "We met him after we got separated. He was one of the ones who helped us out of Lost Existence."

Ryuta looked Jay up and down, suspicion in his eyes. "I don't trust him," he muttered under his breath. His distrust wasn't aimed at Jay specifically, but more at the unfamiliarity of their situation, the rawness of his emotions after what he had endured in Fatal Existence.

But Roy cut in, his voice firm yet patient. "Ryuta, we're all in this together now. Jay's one of us, and we need to focus on what's ahead."

Merlin nodded in agreement. "The more we fight among ourselves, the longer the world stays broken. There's no time for doubts."

Zhen, always the quiet observer, chimed in with a rare determination. "We can't waste time. We have to rebuild this world. We've seen what Fatal Existence is like, and we know it's not the only world that needs fixing."

There was a pause, the group still processing the weight of their journey. Ryuta's fists clenched. He could still feel the burn of Joker's chaotic magic, the mental strain of being dead over and over again in dark domain of nothingness But he was no longer alone, not with these people. No matter how fragmented they had been in their paths, they had come back together. And they would face what lay ahead.

Finally, Ryuta spoke again, his voice low. "So… What now?"

Jay stepped forward, his gaze steady and calm. "We recreate the world."

Everyone turned to him. Ryuta, still wary, raised an eyebrow. "Recreate the world? How?"

Parker gave a dry laugh. "That's the million-dollar question, isn't it?"

Merlin folded his arms. "It's more than just fixing what's broken. It's about understanding what happened in the first place. We've seen the effects of worlds like Lost Existence and Fatal Existence—they didn't get this way by accident. Someone or something created these fractured realms, and we need to figure out how to undo it."

Alexia glanced toward the horizon, where the voids of their past worlds still lingered faintly, like ghosts haunting the edge of reality. "We've seen how Fatal Existence was recreated. It was twisted, shattered by forces beyond our understanding. But if we can find the source of this… corruption, we can stop it. We have to understand the nature of the world's creation."

Roy nodded. "It won't be easy. There's always a cost to rebuilding a broken world."

Zhen stepped forward, his gaze fixed on Ryuta. "And you've been through more than any of us. You've seen Fatal Existence firsthand. What can you tell us about it?"

Ryuta's eyes clouded over. He thought back to the Fatal Existence—the gate, the world, the forest, He had felt like it was like nothing, trapped in an unending cycle of destruction. But he also knew something crucial—something they all needed to know.

"I don't know how to recreate this world," Ryuta said slowly. "But I do know this… the recreation of Fatal Existence wasn't just some accident. It was deliberate. Someone—or something—has been manipulating it all. And until we understand who or what it is, we can't fix anything."

Merlin looked thoughtful. "We've been jumping through different worlds for a reason. Perhaps this isn't just about recreating one world, but all of them. We need to understand the bigger picture."

Alexia felt a wave of realization wash over her. "We've only seen pieces of the puzzle. What if the key to recreating the world is in those who've already reshaped it?"

Roy glanced at Jay. "What do you think? You've been through the illusions too. You've seen some of what we're facing."

Jay nodded. "The illusions we've faced weren't just tests. They were created to hold us back, to make us question everything. Whoever is behind all of this wants to keep us from the truth. But we won't let that happen."

Ryuta looked at the group, his expression softening just a little. "So we'll find this person… and take them down?"

"Yes," Roy said. "We will. But not with violence alone. We'll have to understand their motives, figure out why they've done this."

The group stood together, ready for whatever came next. The world was broken, but they weren't. And if there was any chance of remaking it, they would take it.
