Chapter 210: Elope? Before Sunset, Naive, Take Her to See the World's Prosperity_3
The "raising gu" style of recruitment has already been criticized many times by department heads. Hiring so many people, dealing with so many people, it's just a waste of the office's energy.
"Hello, I am... an intern," Li Yang said.
Ding! The elevator arrived.
A few city beauties immediately lost interest in asking questions, treating the other party as one of the interns brought in for "raising gu". Young and naive, they've entered the demon's den.
However, this little sister seemed a bit too young, and her clothes didn't seem like those of a recent graduate, more like a high school student's.
Has the company gone mad enough to even dare to use child labor for "raising gu"?
"Bye-bye, little sister," they said as they exited the elevator, greeting Li Yang without skimping on the friendliness, "Stay safe on your way home."
"Bye-bye," Li Yang replied, still confused.
The city beauties walked ahead, chattering and laughing. Suddenly, they saw a familiar face at the company entrance and couldn't help stop in their tracks.
The person was dressed in white casual wear, wearing a mask, accompanied by an assistant. He emitted a different aura from the people around, warm and gentle like jade.
"Doesn't that person look a lot like Lin Chuan?"
"That has to be Lin Chuan, right? He looks exactly like him. Oh my gosh, he's actually at our company. I've heard before that Lin Chuan seems to have some connection with our boss."
"It's really Lin Chuan! This is my first time seeing him in person offline."
The three city beauties stood still but didn't rush over to bother him. They just kept on looking, reluctant to ask for an autograph due to work.
If someone from the president's office saw them, their jobs might be at stake.
Suddenly, they saw Lin Chuan stop and turn around, walking towards them. The three women were startled, almost letting out a shriek.
"Wait a second!" Lin Chuan called out.
The three women stood still, one of them about to say something, but they heard Lin Chuan call out a strange name. It wasn't Tina or anyone else.
"Li Yang," Lin Chuan called out to her.
It was a Chinese name, and in the company, every formal employee had their own English name.
Who is Li Yang?
The three women were baffled, turning to look behind them. The little sister who had just been standing quietly in the corner of the elevator raised her head, revealing her fair and pretty face.
She is Li Yang? She knows Lin Chuan?
Just an intern and she knows the boss's friend—it's no wonder she started an internship at such a young age. But by the tone of Lin Chuan's voice, it was obvious that the two weren't very close.
It sounded more like an elder calling out to someone - a relative of Lin Chuan's?
"Hello, Brother Lin Chuan," she said.
Li Yang's cheeks warmed slightly; she had actually seen Lin Chuan earlier. However, seeing his strong star presence, she was momentarily timid and didn't dare to call out.
The day she had dinner with Brother Xu, she hadn't realized, but now she was aware of just how popular Lin Chuan, who had spoken with a gentle tone, really was in reality.
She had planned to sneak away behind the three older sisters, but she was caught red-handed by Lin Chuan himself, making her feel quite embarrassed.
Lin Chuan removed his mask before speaking and nodded.
"Are you off work?"
After asking, he didn't leave the three city beauties hanging, raising his hand to greet them with a smile.
"Yes."
"Are you getting used to the internship?" His tone became gentler, like the big brother next door, "Brother Xu mentioned you a few days ago, praising your abilities."
Upon hearing this, Li Yang knew that Lin Chuan wasn't quoting verbatim—Xu Qingyan definitely wouldn't have praised her abilities.
"Everything is going pretty well. The leaders and colleagues are very kind and have helped me a lot."
Lin Chuan glanced at the time and smiled, "That's good. Are you heading back to school now? It's quite far, isn't it? Shall I drive you there?"
Upon hearing this, Li Yang looked up with a hint of surprise.
If Lin Chuan was only a business partner to Brother Xu, and she was only slightly related to Brother Xu—not really his sister—Lin Chuan wouldn't need to go to this extent, right?
"No need, Brother Lin Chuan, I can get back on my own," she shook her head, softly adding, "The school isn't far from here, it's not that much trouble."
Lin Chuan asked again, but when Li Yang insisted, he let it be.
"Then stay safe, and let your brother know when you arrive at school."
"Okay," Li Yang nodded.
As she watched Lin Chuan turn and walk away, she subconsciously lowered her head to check her phone for when the next bus was due... Just as she was contemplating this, she suddenly found herself surrounded.
Tina, with stars in her eyes, looked eagerly at Li Yang, her excitement nearly written on her face.
"Sweetie, are you Lin Chuan's sister?"
In a big company, the term "sweetie" is similar to "pal" or "sis". It's something you might blurt out in a moment of excitement, and can be addressed to almost anyone.
But clearly, Li Yang had never been called "sweetie" before, and felt her hairs standing on end.
She swallowed hard, tempted to run.
"I'm not, my brother is..."
Another woman suddenly exclaimed, "Sis, you know Lin Chuan, that's so enviable!! Ahh!! And you even refused his offer to take you back to school!"
"The school's not far, it's only two dollars by bus." She took a step back, feeling as though the three women before her simply weren't listening to her and were all talking over each other.
Unaccustomed to this situation, she swallowed her saliva and quickly grabbed her bag to make an escape.
"Sorry, I have to go now; the bus is about to arrive,"
She ran to the bus stop, unable to catch her breath until the bus she was waiting for pulled up. She could only fish out two coins to board.
With no seats available on the bus, she had to hold onto a railing, swaying left and right. Thinking things over, she decided to message Xu Qingyan, whom she hadn't contacted in two days.
"I ran into Brother Lin Chuan at the company entrance today."
Xu Qingyan's reply came back after about fifteen seconds, "Hahaha, he just told me you didn't want to ride in his car."
Feeling like a thorn was in her side, Li Yang wondered, why had he tattled on her?
