Luffy Twin Brother: The Monkey King

Chapter 38: Chapter 38

"Are you guys alright?" Kong asked, his eyes scanning Zoro and the others. They nodded, but their gazes lingered on Enel, silently questioning what had happened.

"I apologize for my actions earlier," Enel said, bowing faintly. His words sent a wave of shock through the group, even making Gan Fall pause in disbelief.

Kong crossed his arms. "I want him to join my crew, but only if Robin accepts his apology first." He turned to Robin, watching as her eyes widened slightly in surprise. After a brief moment of contemplation, she gave a small nod.

Kong raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her response.

"Are you sure? This guy was a jerk," Kong said, eyeing Robin as Enel's shoulders slumped slightly. But Robin simply nodded with a faint smile, showing no hesitation.

Kong shrugged and patted Enel's back—careful to avoid the golden rings. "Then welcome to the crew… and with that, it's time we go our separate ways," he said with a grin.

"What? So soon?" Luffy blurted out, clearly surprised.

Nami, on the other hand, nodding seriously. "We could use someone like you on our crew," she admitted. The idea of losing not only Kong but also Enel, another powerhouse, was far from ideal. If they stayed, she'd feel a lot safer.

"I don't think that's right. This is your crew, and even though I've only been with you for a day, it's been a lot," Kong said with a grin. "So, let's make the time we have left count."

Luffy hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yeah! You're right!"

"Oh! We have to find the bell!" Luffy suddenly exclaimed, his eyes widening as he remembered something important.

Kong blinked in confusion. "Bell?"

Robin stepped in to explain. "The Upper Yard was the island Noland thought had sunk into the sea."

Kong's eyes widened as he quickly put the pieces together. "So, he wants to bring the ring back…" he muttered, now fully understanding Luffy's determination.

"It's said that when the bell rings, the war between the Skypieans and the Shandians will come to an end," Robin explained, to which Kong nodded in understanding.

"Well… I'm tapping out," Kong muttered before his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed face-first onto the ground.

Everyone jumped in shock, momentarily panicked—until they realized the truth… Kong simply fell asleep.

Kong had learned and mastered Mantra in a single day, pushing it to its absolute limits just to navigate his way to the Upper Yard. His mind had been under immense strain, and the moment he felt a sense of security, exhaustion overtook him, and he fell into a deep sleep

Meanwhile, Enel stepped forward, taking the lead in the search for the legendary bell. Former enemies turned allies banded together, scouring the land in a massive effort to uncover its location.

It was 30 minutes later when Kong opened his eyes, only to find himself resting in someone's lap. He blinked in confusion before tilting his head back, meeting Robin's face. She had her eyes closed, seemingly resting, though the moment he stirred, she opened them.

"You only needed 30 minutes to fully recover?" she asked, her voice carrying mild curiosity.

"Normally, it's around 20 minutes," Kong replied with a small smile Thanks to his 100x buff cheat, he could recover at an absurd rate—what others needed hours for, he could achieve in mere minutes.

"Why did you stay back?" Kong asked, his voice still laced with drowsiness.

Robin glanced down at him, a faint smile playing on her lips. "As you can see, I took a beating and wanted to rest… How long do you plan to stay on my lap?"

Kong sighed dramatically, stretching his limbs as if the weight of the world rested on him. "Enel was pretty powerful. I might have to stay here for a few years or so—at least until I'm capable of walking again."

Before he could settle in further, Robin's lap vanished beneath him, replaced by a bed of blooming flowers Which disappeared. His head hit the ground with a dull thud.

It was only then that Kong realized Robin had been sitting with her legs crossed.

"Looks like your injuries are healed," Robin observed as Kong got up, his gaze settling on her.

Kong paused for a moment before letting out a sigh, stretching as he stood.

"Indeed. I should come to you from now on when I need to heal—years' worth of damage gone in seconds." He shook his head in amazement.

Robin stared at him, momentarily at a loss for words. Instead of responding, she simply stood, and Kong instinctively reached out, offering her a hand to help her up.

"So, I'm guessing everyone is still searching," Kong asked as he expanded his Mantra across the entire island.

But almost immediately, he had to scale it back. The overwhelming flood of information pouring into his mind was too much, even for him. Despite his mind being a hundred times sharper than the average person's—enhanced further by his training—and the added advantage of his genetic, there were still limits to what he could process at once.

"Yes. We can search, but I doubt we'll make much progress," Robin replied, her gaze drifting over Sky Island. She paid no attention to Zoro, who was resting nearby, throwing them a strange look but saying nothing.

"I think we should look higher up in the sky. I'm sure they've searched everywhere on the ground, but what about the clouds above?" Kong mused. To him, it made the most logical sense—if the bell wasn't buried in the ocean, then it had to be somewhere above.

"It wouldn't be in the ocean. Picture the knock-up stream launching the island into the sky. Unless the bell was at the island's edges, which seems unlikely given how much importance they placed on it, then logically, it should have been sent even higher. Not too high, though—gold is heavy, and the island itself would've absorbed most of the impact from the knock-up stream."

Kong's reasoning was calm and methodical, and Robin found herself momentarily speechless.

"So, Enel, head up higher and get a clear view of all the clouds floating around," Kong said with a smirk. Without hesitation, Enel who was miles away shot into the sky, disappearing into the vast expanse above. Meanwhile, Kong focused his Mantra, pushing his senses upward, scanning every cloud drifting through the heavens.

"Found it!" Enel's voice rang out, sharp and triumphant, drawing everyone's attention. A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the shape of an island floating not too far away.

There, gleaming in the light, was the golden bell—massive and covered in grass moss stood with only a few cracks.

The discovery sent a wave of excitement through the group, but then the realization set in.

"How exactly are we supposed to get it down?"

Everyone worked together, pulling the massive golden bell down toward the Upper Yard. It was unimaginably heavy, and even with all his strength, Kong could only manage to make it tremble. The sheer weight of the bell left him stunned—this was the first time he had encountered something that resisted him so thoroughly. But after hours of effort, through teamwork and determination, the bell was finally freed from the floating island and safely brought down to the Upper Yard.

Just as they were catching their breath, Kong's eyes narrowed at something odd.

"…What's that?" he muttered, stepping closer to the bell.

It wasn't just a bell. There were golden steps leading up to it, as if it were a sacred monument rather than just an object of worship. But what truly caught his attention was something at the base of the steps—hidden in plain sight, a massive black stone embedded into the structure itself. Strange inscriptions covered its surface, familiar yet unreadable.

Kong's eyes lingered on the symbols, and realization struck.

The writing was the same as the one Robin had briefly taught him about—the ancient script of the Poneglyphs.

"This is a Poneglyph," Robin said in shock, stepping closer to examine the stone.

"Porn what?" Kong blurted out, his face scrunching in confusion.

"Poneglyph," Robin corrected with a sigh, casting him a sideways glance before turning her attention back to the inscriptions. "It holds ancient text that contains secrets about the Void Century."

Kong scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Right… I was thinking the same thing."

Robin didn't respond, already too engrossed in studying the stone.
