Lust System: Sword Genius in Women's World

Chapter 155 Grief and A Trade

When Xavier opened his eyes, the ground was quiet. The ceiling was normal again. No more lightning, and the bright light was also gone.

Dragonborn's body was on the ground. Burned. Not by fire, but by light. His eyes were wide open. But he wasn't moving. Dead. Completely.

Xavier pulled himself up with one hand, crawling over to where Sylve had stood. But there was nothing there. Only her staff and he picked it up.

For a moment, he just stood there, shaking, gripping the staff so hard his knuckles turned white. He wanted to scream, to curse, to do something. But nothing came out. Only tears ran down his face as the empty air around him stayed quiet.

Xavier knew she did it to save him; if she hadn't done that, both of them would ultimately be killed by Dragonborn. He understood that, but he was still angry.

Even though he had only known Sylve for a little while, she was one of the best girls he had met, Xavier finally gathered enough strength to stand on his feet just barely, and he walked towards Dragonborn's dead body.

Xavier had no idea he was already crying as tears dropped down his face. Dragonborn's body was burned beyond recognition, leaving just his staff on the ground, and then he picked it up.

[Magic Amplifier]

The information appeared in front of his eyes, but it didn't appear when he picked Sylve's staff because it was cracked and felt like it could fall apart anytime.

Xavier felt something behind him and turned around to see the god of death behind him with a smile on his face.

"Congratulations, you have reached the final floor. Do you want to go now, or do you need time to rest?" He asked.

The look on Xavier's face was everything, the only thing stopping Xavier from dashing towards the god was that he couldn't, his body was too weak to fight, and even if he could, he had no chance of beating a literal god.

"You can try if you want" The god spoke as he walked towards Xavier, "You wouldn't succeed but you can try"

"You bastard, what was even the point of all these when you know no one would survive?" Xavier spoke.

"I handed all of you a chance; if you hadn't accepted, you wouldn't be here right now asking. I'm going to give you time." The god spoke, but before he vanished, he spoke again.

"You know there's a reward for finishing all the floors right, you can ask anything you want, anything at all" He spoke as his lips curled into a smile.

"Anything...even bringing back..."

Before Xavier could finish his sentence, he was already gone, vanished into thin air, leaving Xavier all to himself.

[War Buff deactivated]

Xavier saw the information, and that was the last thing he saw as he fell to the ground. Even though he couldn't run out of stamina, his brain couldn't keep up with all of these and shut down.

Xavier's eyes snapped open, and he sat up almost immediately. Then he looked around and fell back down, looking at the ceiling.

He was alone and was going to face the final floor alone. No matter how he looked at it, he was at a disadvantage; he had no idea what was in the final room, but it was enough to stop everyone except for one person.

'I'm not going to let Sylve's life go to waste, and when I'm done I'll request the god to bring her back to life, system'

[The goddess has proposed a trade for the final challenge]

[Do you accept]

Xavier looked at the screen in front of him and sat up. He quickly glanced through his stats and then his eyes went down, a trade...he still had two more challenges left, but the system said final challenge.

'Proposing a trade, what do I have to trade...the goddess wouldn't ask me to trade something bad right?'

Xavier sat still thinking about it, no matter how he thought about it, this was a good chance to gain something that could prove vital to his survival.

'Accept' Xavier muttered.

[The trade has been accepted]

[You will lose 2 Skills, 2 Spells, and 2 abilities]

[You will gain a 3x increase to all stats]

[You can select what to lose]

'Shit... isn't that too much, 2 spells, skill and ability for a 3x increase to all my stats, wait...a 3x increase means my Mana would be 9000, and my speed, strength and spell power would all be increased, if I can choose what to lose then I'll choose the least important thing'

[Skills: Disrupt Magic, Temporal Weapon Bind, War Buff, Arcane Siphon, Night Vision]

[Spells: Regeneration, Firestorm, Wind gust, Frost Reflection, Whirlblade, Radiant Lance, Wind Stride, Simple Barrier]

[Abilities: Perfect Copy, Null Status Effect, Lust Scent, Lust Meter, Inventory]

Xavier looked through his system, his eyes focused on his skill first, his skills were too important for him to lose apart from his [Night vision], but the second one would have to be [Temporal Weapon Bind].

Xavier couldn't afford to lose any other skills, there were two important so he settled on those two, and now unto his spells.

'[Wind gust] and [Whirlblade]' Xavier muttered in his head. This was a no-brainer.

Now was the time for his ability; here, he didn't have a choice. He couldn't lose his [Perfect Copy], he also couldn't lose his [Null Status Effect], and his inventory was one of the most important things he had.

'[Lust Scent] and [Lust Meter]'

[You have chosen]

[The trade has been accepted by the goddess]
