Chapter 301: You Should Thank Me for Not Killing You Earlier.
Lucifer made his way downstairs, where the four young men were still sitting on the large couch. They had remained there after the altercation that occurred earlier between Lucifer and Ethan, which resulted in Lucifer almost strangling Ethan to death.
They had already cooled down after being reprimanded by Zoe, but now that they were left to their own devices, none of them knew how to handle this delicate situation. The atmosphere around them was thick and heavy, and it seemed like none of them had the courage to break it.
Even James, who wanted to take the lead, decided that he was in no place to make a move. After all, if he did, the others might think he was trying to take Lucifer's side over his friends, which was not something that he wanted at all.
However, before anyone could think of a solution to solve the problem, a deep voice echoed through the room, causing the group to look up in surprise.
"Are you guys planning to stay here all day long?" Lucifer asked with an amused expression as he walked toward them. "You won't be able to enjoy yourselves much by staying inside, will you?"
Seeing that the young man who had caused them trouble had come down here to mock them again, Jack gritted his teeth and stood up. He was not about to let this bastard make fun of him and his friends like this.
But before Jack could open his mouth, Lucifer walked in front of Ethan, looked him in the eyes, and apologized, surprising the group of young men. "Ethan... I am sorry about what happened before. My emotions got the better of me, and I ended up reacting violently. I apologize for putting you in such a situation. Are you alright?"
Ethan didn't expect Lucifer to come and apologize to him. He couldn't believe it, and the shock was evident on his face, as well as his friends' faces, who were all dumbfounded at the sudden apology from Lucifer.
The young man was at a loss for words. After what Zoe told him, he knew he should be the one apologizing to Lucifer for acting so rude to him, not the other way around, but he had no idea how to do so, and he wasn't sure if he could handle the humiliation of bowing down to someone else.
But seeing Lucifer apologize first, he felt like he had let his pride control him, which made him even more ashamed of his behavior.
So, with a heavy sigh, Ethan stood up from the sofa and looked at Lucifer. "No, I was at fault first for insulting you like that. So I should be the one apologizing to you. I'm sorry, Lucifer... I didn't mean to curse at your mother. It just came out, and I wasn't able to control myself." Stay updated with empire
After saying this, he bowed his head down in apology and closed his eyes, waiting for the man to accept his words.
Seeing him do this, Lucifer couldn't help but chuckle as he shook his head and put his arm around the guy. "Haha... Relax, man. No need for you to do all of that. We're all guys here, and we all know that we get too hotheaded sometimes, which leads us to do stupid things that we regret afterward."
Ethan looked at the handsome, blonde-haired man standing in front of him. His expression softened when he noticed Lucifer's friendly demeanor and genuine concern for his well-being. "Thanks for being so understanding, Lucifer," Ethan replied with a smile. He was relieved to have this matter sorted out with him.
"You should thank me for not killing you earlier," Lucifer said with an evil smirk on his face, but his tone was lighthearted.
Ethan chuckled, realizing that Lucifer was joking with him, and decided to play along with it. "Yeah, I know. You really could have snapped my neck like a toothpick, so I consider myself lucky to still be alive and able to stand here now."
Hearing their exchange, James sighed and looked at Nathan beside him, who had a relieved look on his face. "Well, it seems like Lucifer is more mature than us in dealing with this kind of situation," he commented with a small smile on his lips. "If he hadn't taken the initiative to come here, I don't know how long it would have taken for us to resolve the conflict."
"Yeah, I guess he is a lot better than us," Nathan agreed and looked at Lucifer, who was talking with Jack now.
"Jack, I know you're not pleased with the fact that I joined your trip without any invitation. But I am not the one who decided to do so. It was my sister's idea to have me come along with you all. And I think you would agree with me if I say that Layla is too stubborn to take 'no' for an answer. Am I correct?" Lucifer asked with a smile on his face. "Besides, it's not like I am trying to cause problems with anyone, so I hope we can get along from now on."
"Uhhh... Well, you are right about that." Jack rubbed his neck and scratched the back of his head awkwardly as he recalled how he failed to persuade Layla into kicking him out of the trip. "And I have nothing against you. It's just that the situation earlier pissed me off, but I guess I can forgive you since it's all settled now."
'Forgive me? Why are you talking like you're the victim here when you're the one who should be apologizing to me for being so hostile? You should be thanking me for not kicking your ass earlier, you fucking bastard. I am not doing this because of your fucking forgiveness.' Lucifer thought as he stared into Jack's eyes with a smile on his face, maintaining a friendly demeanor. "Great. Then everything is sorted out, and we can move forward to enjoy our trip."
