Chapter 15: Children of Moon.
Madara walked around Chicago city, that's not yet a city of steel but it's starting to show little by.
His next destination is to go to Romania because he wants to meet the Children of the Moon.
They are the true werewolves who transform from human form into wolves during full moon, not at will.
Unlike the Quileutes who can shift whenever they choose, their transformation is involuntary.
They are more violent and unpredictable and once transformed they lose their human consciousness which makes them more dangerous.
His old "friends", Volturi, considered them enemies and have hunted them almost to extinction which means they are very rare but for Madara?
With his abilities he can find the remains of the extinct werewolves, they are natural enemies of vampires and that makes Madara curious.
And during 1851 they should exist some of them, but maybe only on fingers and he did not waste time.
Romania, Winter of 1851
The Carpathian forest lay under snow, the cold sharp and the skeletal trees creaked under the wind.
The moon hung low, a pale crescent casting a faint but eerie light that barely penetrated the shadows.
Madara Uchiha had been stalking these woods for days.
His crimson Sharingan eyes marked by three tomoe glowed in the darkness, red seeing every shattered twig, every footsteps in snow and movements.
The Children of the Moon were cunning and stealthy but Madara, centuries of battle experience especially as shinobi specialized in stealth.
The villagers spoke of them in hushed tones.
Creatures twisted between man and beast and cursed to prowl the night in hunger, they were said to stand between seven and eight feet tall, their limbs full of matted fur and color from dirty gray to black as night.
Their faces were horrifying masks of beasts lined by rows of jagged teeth and glowing eyes like embers and ears sharply pointed like wolves.
Their hands were fusion of claw and finger with nails black and curved like scythes capable of rending flesh and bone with ease.
For nights Madara tracked them easily by following their bloodstained trail through the frozen wilderness and now, beneath the moon he finally found their lair, a clearing scarred by claw marks and scattered bones of humans and animals.
A dozen of werewolves stepped forward as they sensed his... scent... that was dangerous.
Their leader was unmistakable by Madara.
A hulking beast cloaked in black fur standing taller than the others, its eyes glowing crimson orange, its face terrifying as it was said, their jaws snapping and lips curled in a permanent snarl.
Madara's lips curled into a faint interest in the night at their intimidating appearance.
"I have hunted you long enough," he said, voice calm and cold as ice as always, "Now, the hunt ends."
The pack launched at him without hesitation with claws and teeth as Madara moved like ghost.
One werewolf, gray-furred and lithe, lunged at him with terrifying speed for humans but Madara sidestepped and caught its claws mid swipe checking it out. "Quite sharp." His Sharingan read every muscle twitch and every intent.
With a practiced twist he snapped the creature's wrist gaining a howl of pain but he did not kill, instead he released it watching as it stumbled back snarling in frustration.
Two more charged simultaneously, black and gray fur flashing in the moonlight, Madara spun striking with rapid palm strikes that landed precisely on ribs and pressure points. His strikes were brutal yet measured enough to incapacitate but not to finish.
Suddenly flames erupted from Madara's mouth, a roaring Fire Release Fireball jutsu.
Bursting forward lighting the clearing with heat as it melted the nearby snow as the werewolves scattered some shrieking in annoyance and some pain as their fur smoldered others narrowly avoiding the flames.
But Madara restrained his power holding back lethal force obviously.
A massive werewolf, the leader, lunged next teeth bared like sabertooth but Madara sidestepped with effortless effort as the leader claws tore through the empty air as it did sound Whooshhh in the air, missing by inches but not that Madara barely dodged but that he moved with only necessary movement.
Madara countered immediately with a sharp upward palm strike that drove into the beast's exposed abdomen forcing air from its lungs and before the creature could recover Madara twisted low sweeping a leg around to knock the werewolf's massive legs out from under it.
The leader crashed into the snow with crunching and thunderous impact but rolled experiencedly to his feet snarling through the pain.
Without pause Madara dashed forward attacking his broad shoulders with hammer fist sending ripple of shock through the massive frame as the beast grunted his muscles tensing to absorb the assault.
Madara's elbows snapped forward with precision jabbing sharply into the thick furred chest of the leader each strike perfectly timed and elegant.
The leader growled its red eyes blazing with fury but Madara's Sharingan was faster predicting each desperate wild counterattacks before it fully appeared.
Then with fluid movements Madara spun on one foot launching a spinning back kick that connected solidly with the werewolf's ribs. The impact resonated with a sickening crack as the beast lurched backwards momentarily dazed.
Seizing the moment Madara's fingers flashed through a precise and fast hand seals as flames ignited at his fingertips coalescing into the Fire Release Phoenix Flower jutsu.
The orange petals exploded in controlled spiral wrapping the leader of werewolves in a fiery cage.
The searing heat burned werewolf fur and flesh causing it to howl in agony and pain yet Madara restrained the blaze as since the start he did not intend to kill them.
"Remember this night," Madara said neutrally as he released him from the flame technique and in Body Flicker jutsu he disappeared in instant in few seconds already hundreds meters away.
The reason he spared them was because there were only few of werewolves and they are natural enemies to vampires which he hunted for hundreds years so why kill them?
While some will die probably in next 200 years nonetheless they have the power to kill vampires as they have more strength and speed but their limited intelligence limits them unlike vampires who have full control of their actions, probably.
Madara Uchiha sat cross legged beside a warm campfire the smoke curling above the fire as his onyx eyes watched the fire neutrally.
For the past few days madara stayed in the remote corner of romania observing the foresh harsh and cold beauty.
The crunch of snow beneath the footsteps and the trees that had Snow as their blanket.
he reached for a small piece of dried meat from his pack and ate slowly savoring the simple sustenance and drinked water and got to sleep in the Winter Forest..
and if Werewolfes think that this is their Chance,to kill Madara Uchiha then they are greatly Mistaken and he will Kill them Without hesitation.
