Chapter 388: Chapter 388: Ivanka's Website

Marvel's Ultimate Universe movie plan sounds simple, but it's far from easy to execute. Without even considering issues like funding and talent, the abilities of Marvel's heroes themselves pose a significant challenge. To perfectly represent them on the big screen, CGI effects are heavily relied upon. Today's special effects can achieve it, but the cost is extremely high.

Additionally, it's not easy for Marvel's writers to come up with a suitable overarching storyline. If they don't want to end up like DC and Warner Brothers in the past, hastily piecing things together, they must do considerable groundwork in this area.

After three days of board meetings, Duke stayed with Stan Lee and Kevin Feige at Marvel to exchange more ideas. When it comes to movies, Duke is an absolute expert, but he doesn't know much about the comics industry, so he could only communicate with them from the perspective of film.

Originally, Duke had planned to finish his trip to the East Coast in one week, but he ended up staying at Marvel for ten days.

It wasn't until the first snow of the winter started to fall in New York that he left Manhattan and headed to Philadelphia's Wharton Business School to check on another investment of $300,000.

"You finally made it," Ivanka Trump's voice greeted Duke as he got out of the car at the entrance to Wharton. "I thought you'd forgotten about our appointment!"

"Sorry, darling," Duke smiled, brushing off the snowflakes on his head. "Something came up unexpectedly."

With that, he opened his arms and gave Ivanka Trump a light hug. Together, they walked into Wharton Business School amidst the falling snow.

"You're dressed too lightly!" Ivanka removed her scarf and wrapped it tightly around Duke's neck to protect him from the cold wind.

The weather was indeed cold, and the East Coast of North America is frequently hit by snowstorms. It seemed that one was unfolding at this very moment. Duke tightened his woolen coat and buttoned it all the way up.

"The snow is getting heavier," Duke remarked, looking up at the thick snowflakes.

Ivanka looked back at him, her curly blonde hair peeking out from under her hat. She smiled and said, "What did you say?"

The wind and snow mixed as Duke leaned closer to Ivanka's ear and repeated, "Where are we going?"

"Library!" Ivanka answered, "They have public computer rooms and even offer hot coffee. We can drink coffee while checking out our new website."

After about five minutes of walking against the snowstorm, Duke and Ivanka finally arrived at the library. As they approached the glass doors, the warmth from inside felt like a return to Los Angeles after the cold of Philadelphia. They shook off the snow from their clothes, pushed open the doors, and entered the library. Following Ivanka, they quickly found a public computer room.

After getting two cups of hot coffee, Duke and Ivanka sat in front of a computer in a cubicle and waited for the Microsoft Windows system to load.

Ivanka held the coffee cup and briefly explained some details to Duke. Since they had been in frequent phone contact over the past six months, she kept it simple.

"The website is temporarily hosted on a campus server. It officially launched on the 22nd of last month, and there's a dedicated link on the school's BBS."

Once the computer was ready, Duke opened the browser and, following Ivanka's instructions, entered the website address. The page quickly loaded, revealing a simple and straightforward website. At the top-right corner, there were prompts for registered users, and above them, visitor counts and registered users—though the numbers were quite low.

The website had 856 visits and only 293 registered users.

Duke glanced at the top-left corner, where the website's name was simple and direct—Instant Share!

"This is just a temporary name..." Ivanka pointed to the address bar and explained, "Right now, it's just a campus network, but once we expand and get a primary domain name, I'll think of a catchier name."

She turned to Duke, "You're a shareholder, so you can come up with one too."

"Really?" Duke seemed thoughtful.

Ivanka winked playfully, "If you come up with a name I don't like, I have veto power."

Duke shrugged, "Such a tough task is better left to you."

He then changed the subject, "It seems the promotion of the website will be a difficult task."

"It's only been less than a month since the launch, so it's normal for the numbers to be low." Ivanka wasn't discouraged. "I'll promote it through various events at the university and the University of Pennsylvania."

After thinking for a moment, she moved one hand and pointed to the registration section of the website, saying, "You're the major shareholder, so register an account. It would be great if you could upload a picture of your daily life. If a big director like you joins the site, it will definitely attract a lot of people."

Duke followed her suggestion, registering with his real name. While this website wasn't like the social platforms he had used before, it surprisingly supported instant photo uploads.

"Uploading videos is still just a plan. If we can't even upload pictures, then there's no need for us to have this website," Ivanka added.

Hearing this, Duke glanced at her. She looked extremely serious, almost as if she treated it as an important startup venture.

Social networking sites are a crucial part of the future internet, and nearly everyone online will depend on them and related apps.

What will become of this website in the future? Right now, it was hard to tell.

Duke had worked with Ivanka for quite a while, and he knew she was a highly capable young woman—lacking only practical experience. Perhaps under his influence, she would walk a completely different business path than she had originally planned.

Due to the extended trip on the East Coast, Duke had work waiting for him in both New York and Los Angeles. After the snowstorm subsided, he planned to leave Philadelphia and head back to New York.

"Darling, I'll wait for you to make the website bigger, take it public, and see our stocks soar. We'll become super-rich together," Duke joked as they left Wharton Business School.

Ivanka was confident, "Wait and see, Duke. You're ahead now, but I'll catch up with you eventually."

Back in New York, Duke went straight to the headquarters of Victoria's Secret, where he met with Vice President Rebecca Fein. She led him to the design studio, where preparations for next year's big show were underway, specifically related to their agreement regarding The Lord of the Rings.

Next year's Victoria's Secret Angel Show would have a theme closely related to elves!

The angels had already been sent to a training camp in Florida for intense training to ensure their bodies matched the elegance and slenderness of elves.

Soon after, Duke's art director, Hannah Selina, arrived from out of town in New York, and she would assist with the related work at Victoria's Secret.

Before returning to Los Angeles, Duke met with Irene lauder, who had just returned from Europe. Since she launched her personalized makeup brand, her schedule had been incredibly busy. She was now a prominent figure, flying back and forth across North America for commercial promotions and even traveling to Europe to expand her brand there.

This East Coast trip took Duke half a month to complete, but once he returned to Los Angeles, he went straight to the Lord of the Rings studio to continue post-production on The Fellowship of the Ring. After finishing the special effects for the opening battle at Weta Workshop, he edited the first trailer and sent it to Warner Brothers.

This 30-second trailer would be shown during the upcoming Super Bowl!
