Four figures dashed through the barrier moving at increasing speeds as if they were running for their lives.
They had escaped the barrier created by Morgrath, but that didn't mean they were safe. His cronies were still on their tail.
At least that's what they thought.
"Hm he's not here?!!" One of the monks frown as he looked to his side and noticed Leon wasn't beside them and panicked. In as much as they believed in their own ability to escape, they knew Leon's presence was extremely important to that cause.
Hearing those words the rest instinctively turned back hoping to catch a glance of Leon's figure approaching. Unfortunately this wasn't the case .
However it wasn't bad either because it seemed like Morgraths men weren't on their tail either.
He sacrificed himself?
Together they all thought the same thing as their eyes soon spotted a figure rushing down a slope opposite them.
Leon was drawing Morgraths men away so they could survive. This was beyond noble. They were touched.
"Focus on getting out, his sacrifice won't be in vain" one shouted forcing his brothers to steel their hearts, they couldn't go back, all they could do was pray he made it out alive.
Meanwhile,
"Fucking hell, why are they following me?!" Leon cursed under his breath as he dashed forward with all his might.
He had used a split second to detach from the monks and used his gate to teleport a short distance away, hoping to lose them.
Contrary to their belief, Leon hadn't actually tried to save them, no he was trying to leave them with a time bomb.
Of course, he didn't take into account how important that grimoire was to Morgrath. He cared little for the monks, apart from Ni'an, Leon was his second target.
"Hm!! Come out!!" Feeling extremely annoyed Leon waved his hand furiously causing three giant figures to appear from the gate beside him.
They were his three corpse puppets
Leon had spent a bulk load of resources creating these three, they were not only cold and unfeeling, they were also ruthlessly obedient.
Sacrificing their lives for Leon was the same as waking up in the morning for them, and so they did.
Charging up all the energy in their body they dashed into the cluster of pursers behind Leon and without a second thought—
—boom!!
They exploded into a massive ball of fire consuming everything in their wake in negative energy and decaying fire energy.
Leon felt the connection between himself and the puppets, he coughed up a mouthful of blood, while still maintaining his speed.
The goal was to create distance between himself and the over 200 great mages. He wasn't so stupid to believe that he could fight this massive number of battle hardened Individuals by himself.
Plus for so reason, he felt like these guys weren't really dying, as their numbers kept rising. If this was the case then he was in a lot of trouble….
Like clock work, several figures rushed through the fire that was made from the corpse puppet explosions rushing extremely fast towards Leon.
"Shit!!" He cursed under his breath increasing his speed by several folds.
He had at least created a distance between them, the sacrifice although painful was necessary. The following minute, Leon was able to cover a distance of 20 kilometers using his gate to change directions occasionally.
It was able to disorient his pursuers enough for them to lose sight of him.
After a while he came to a stop in the middle of the seemingly unending forest and looked around.
Then he sighed in relief and started walking cautiously through the forest, those guys, whatever they were, definitely weren't human. He could swear that they all looked alike at some point, but their auras were vastly different.
He hadn't been in the central continent for more than a day now and strange things were already happening.
"Must forge forward" Leon eyes gleamed with determination as he took long strides through the forest, he had to get out of here as soon as possible.
However after walking a few steps forward in a particular direction he stopped and frown looking around him.
"Someone trapped me in an illusion?" Leon's heart skipped a beat then with a determined snap, his body was brought back to reality where he was strangely still on the run.
Apparently they had used some skill on him causing him to slip into a temporary illusion but for some reason his body never stopped running.
It was like a reflex
"Shit, I can't let that happen again" Leon gritted his teeth, if not for his strong body maintaining his pace while his mind was drawn in, he would have been caught by now and might have even died.
"No choice"
He stopped abruptly causing his body to slide back from the sheer force of his dash, then with a face of his hand he pulled out his dagger and ran towards his pursuers.
They didn't even have the time to react when
—Roar!!!
A gigantic blood red drake appeared beside Leon and released a flurry of fire on them.
"Soul lantern: Soul Pulse!!"
He shouted causing a wave of ethereal energy to bounce from his chest and spread to those around him spreading a wave of pain that shock their very souls .
He was using sorcerer techniques!!
But not only that
"Badurs gates!!"
His gate appeared mid air and shot down several beams of deadly light killing of several of them at once.
"Shit who is this guy??!!" In the sky just behind the main troop, 5 fairly old men in black asked in unison looking extremely worried.
This guy had diminished so many of their men that it seem alarming. He even forced them to use a transcendent treasure but he escaped it in 10 seconds.
If his level wasn't so clearly displayed infront of them right now, they would think he was some extreme talent from the giants of finor.
That was how good he was.
