Chapter 326: Untitled
"Sigh, this is so annoying!!" Leon muttered his hand firmly gripped on a mop stick infront of him.
After diagnosing him with the weirdest pregnancy in history, the lady whom Leon later got to know as Elara The Liberian gave him a mop and a bucket and told him to get to work.
Apparently having a strange syndrome didn't mean he could leech off of her as long as he could. He had to earn his keep to stay in her library.
It wasn't so bad though, at least he had a place to lay his head.
Plus, because of the time he spent here he was able to discover something that might have been determental to him if he actually left.
He was powerless.
Yes, for some reason, he couldn't use negative energy or life Energy.
For the part with life energy, it was quite obvious and easy to understand. The Drake within him was constantly draining his energy disallowing him from using an ounce of it. So it wasn't that he couldn't generate it…it was that it was being swallowed by a hungry baby.
As for negative energy….
It had a lot to do with badurs gate. Normally he could muster a bit of negative energy without badurs gate, but because of the nature of negative energy a conduit was needed.
Badurs gates was his conduit and for some reason it was sealed.
So in essence he could only muster mana….in small
Amounts.
"I'm really in a bind here" Leon smirked bitterly.
He couldn't think of a solution for his predicament right now, so it was in actuality better that he stayed here. For now at least.
Weeks went by and Leon basically became a cleaner, taking care of everything within the library. The upside of the entire thing was that he had access to books.
Lots of books
And this library didn't just contain random and ordinart books, these books some of them traced to thousands of years back and talked about individuals a powers that shook him to his core.
The five giants of finor, the ancient dimensions within, the emperors of old….it even had books related to the human emperor and even Altor.
If someone told him such was the norm in the libraries of the central continent, he would call them a bloody liar.
He had stumbled upon a very special place and he knew it so he took the opportunity to read everything he could find engulfing it into his brain.
After a while though.
"Hey warlock boy, I'm going to get some fruits, would you like to come with?" Elara came to him one fateful day and inquired.
She thought the kid would sooner be bored of his mind when she gave him the job. The state she found him in was all too similar with the brutish nature of warlocks .
Who would have thought that they kid would be such a nerd? Through the weeks he had been here he would constantly have at least one book open before him each time she saw him.
On one hand it surprised her on the other it kinda of ticked her off.
The kid was paying for rent by sweeping, he didn't pay the price to read in her library!! Of course, she couldn't tell him this.
What kind of librarian would she be to throw out a seeker of knowledge?
"Ehnn, sure why not?" Leon after hesitating for a few minutes finally nodded.
It wasn't really good to stay indoors for such a long period of time. Plus, he hadn't seen the outside world for quite a long time. He didn't even know where he was. So without second thoughts he donned on a gray robe that covered not only his body but also his head and followed behind her.
Following her tightly Leon couldn't get lost, they followed the complex tunnel system slowly but surely emerging in the outside world.
"Hmm, so refreshing" Leon sighed taking in the fresh air pouring into his lungs from the environment.
The landscape infront of him was Lucious, with greenery mixed into mountains and caves that stretched long and wide.
"These are the western mountains?" Leon raised his eyebrows in an instant. Geography was one of Leon's favorite topics to read through while scanning the libraries books.
He was oblivious about the central continent after all so he tried his best to know the most important places in the continent.
This place was the western mountain, it was a prominent earthly structure the stretched all the way north from the west. The western Mountains was home to no man, a no go zone for ordinary people.
This was simply because it housed one of the three giants of finor, the Elemental school.
"Hmm apparently" Elara mused a squint in her brows. She seemed to also be a bit confused.
"What do you mean by apparently? You don't know where you built your own library?" Leon looked confused.
He did not want to come into contact with the five giants just yet. This was extremely frustrating if you asked him.
"Never mind, we're far away from those academy bastards. We're just picking berries so no need to worry" Elara smiled, then with her floating chair she moved forward slowly prompting Leon to follow.
Behind them, the doors to the library closed behind him and disappeared not showing a sign that it was even there before.
"Have you any knowledge on berries? Like what to pick, what's ripe what's posionous? Stuff like that…."Elara asked Leon as they moved forward.
Although she said they were going to pick berries, they had about now passed like seven berries scrubs but she picked no interest in any. Yet she was asking him such absurd questions.
One would be more sane to ask if 'she' knew how to
Pick good berries.
"Yes, I have some experience" Leon nodded.
"Figures, you are a warlock after all" Elara commented floating forward without second thoughts.
"Hm what's that supposed to mean?" Leon was a bit taken aback, was that a racist joke or something?
