Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 328: Arcane Witch

"Green blood…" Crouching down, Leon scooped up a pool of blood that had formed at the entrance of the cave, his eyes filled with intrigue.

There was always one thing that bugged him during his stay in Finor, and it was the lack of beasts on the continent. Everywhere he went there were tales of beasts, but no physical presence.

This was strange, especially with the fact that most warlock clans and their rituals demanded the blood of beasts. It made no sense for them to be extinct, as they were like the ancestor race of warlocks.

To the effect of his speculations, Leon came up with two conjectures.

One was that they had indeed been wiped out by one of the races during their numerous race wars. This would be the most common tale, since all parties would naturally want to blame the other for such a horrible thing.

As for the second, it was more likely and rooted in evidence. Leon had seen Tra Fal Ga forest—beasts roamed that area. His encounter with the guardian too was an indication of a hierarchy. Maybe the beasts had gone into hiding, forming their own societies because of humanity and its squabbling.

"This is a good haul."

While Leon was lost in thought, Elara's voice resounded as she made her way down from the cave. In her left hand were three massive beast cores.

Or as she called them… berries.

"Here, hold them." Elara tossed the cores into the air abruptly, causing Leon to scrabble and catch them at a hair's breadth.

"Hehe, you're stronger than you look." Elara, seeing Leon place the cores in his basket, couldn't help but comment.

Those things weighed a shitload. Being able to catch them so casually showed an insane level of strength.

"Sigh, are we going to look for more?" Leon asked. These three already filled up his basket. He had no access to Badur's Gate, so it wasn't really ideal anymore.

"Ahhh yes, leaving is a good idea," Elara said, her gaze drifting to a dark patch that the morning sun had yet to touch.

In that location—

"What was that?" A few young men and women from the School of Elements looked over at a faraway mountain where a cacophony of screams had just resounded.

They had arrived here just a few moments ago to observe some beasts in their natural habitats, as was part of their curriculum—only for them to hear the sound of beasts being attacked.

"All of you stay put. Create a five-star formation while I go investigate," the teacher in charge said to the students, his gaze filled with annoyance as he rose into the air and flashed toward the mountain cave.

(Uhhh, why are we running away?)

Levi's voice resounded as he looked at the figure of Elara on her chair flashing through the mountainous terrain.

She was extremely leisurely when they first came here. Now she was running faster than anyone. It would be kind of funny, if their lives weren't in danger.

"Shut up and hang on tight!!" Leon barked.

The person who had just risen into the sky to give chase was radiating power above level 5.

A Transcendent being… or something more terrifying.

However, that alone wasn't terrifying. Leon could at this moment feel other human presences appearing from out of nowhere.

He knew these mountains were in the territory of one of the Five Giants, but didn't think that Elara would do something to piss them off.

"Keep up," Elara's voice sounded in Leon's ear as she made a silver book appear beside her, absorbing the energy surrounding her.

Seeing this, Leon quickly got out of the way, drifting to the side and allowing her to shoot out a beam of light. The light was terrifying—an energy type Leon had never seen before—and as it barreled past him, he couldn't help but frown.

This was…

"Fucking bitch!! How many times do I have to warn you against coming here? Is it until I burn down that stupid library of yours??!!" A frustrated voice resounded from the air, shaking the mountain range a little.

All the while the running didn't stop, but each other seemed to follow them.

"Don't pay attention to him, he's nowhere near here. Keep pushing," Elara's voice sounded once more in Leon's ear.

Her previous attack had scared the person immediately behind them, forcing him to retreat. Although the chase wasn't quite over, the distance created was now enough for them to visibly escape.

30 minutes later

"Fucking hell, what was that?!!" Landing in an open valley, Leon questioned, feeling breathless.

He had just been chased down by dozens of Transcendent beings.

This was his first time out after the whole situation with Morgran, and it had to be this dangerous?

"Hehe, welcome to the Central Continent, warlock boy." Elara smiled coyly, walking toward a cave entrance that had seemingly opened out of nowhere by the side of the valley.

"Fucking wench, if I get my hands on you… I'll kill you!!!"

As soon as she disappeared into the cave, the voice that shook the mountain range previously resounded once again, causing Leon to quickly follow behind Elara.

Whatever that was, it wasn't something he could handle. It was best to stick by this crazy wench for the time being.

"We lost them, again." Far back in the thick mountain area, a bunch of men in robes of differing colors appeared beside a class of students.

"She's slippery. If even the Headmaster couldn't catch her, who are we?" The main teacher and the one to initiate the pursuit spoke with a bitter expression on his face.

The mountain range was prohibited from entry—no one who wasn't from the Elemental School was allowed in, or else this same thing would happen to them.

They would be chased down and killed.

Of course, this rule only applied to those they could actually kill. That wench Elara had been sneaking into the place for years and killing off beasts for their cores.

Even the Headmaster of the Elemental School had tried to get her—and failed. She was just too powerful and slippery for them.

"Teacher, was that The Arcane Witch?"

While the men from the School of Elements stood around discussing, a girl with pink hair walked over and asked, a glow in her eyes.
