Chapter 18: Thor's Arrival, The Hammer's Fall, PI on the Case

The quiet hum of Adam's office was shattered by Jemma's excited shout. "Adam! You need to see this! New Mexico! There's… there's a storm! And something fell from the sky!"

Adam walked over to the holographic display. News footage showed a massive, swirling vortex of clouds, a phenomenon unlike anything seen before. And then, a crater. And in the center of it, a very large, very blonde man, looking utterly bewildered, surrounded by curious locals.

"Oh, boy. Here we go. Point Break has arrived. And with him, a whole new level of cosmic weirdness. Good thing I just got a new consultant gig with S.H.I.E.L.D., because this is definitely above my pay grade as a PI who mostly deals with cheating spouses."

"Thor," Adam murmured, a grin spreading across his face. "And somewhere out there, a very confused Coulson is about to have his day ruined by a very heavy hammer."

He watched as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents swarmed the site, led by a perpetually exasperated Phil Coulson. They secured the area, but the blonde man, Thor, was proving to be a handful.

"Skye, I need you to tap into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s comms in New Mexico," Adam instructed. "I want to know everything they're saying, everything they're doing. Jemma, any unusual energy signatures from the impact site? Anything that screams 'alien artifact'?"

"Already on it, boss!" Skye chirped. "S.H.I.E.L.D.'s comms are tight, but I'm getting a faint signal… it's like nothing I've ever seen. And yes, Jemma, it screams 'alien artifact' in a very loud, very scientific voice!"

Jemma, her face alight with scientific curiosity, zoomed in on the impact crater. "The energy readings are off the charts! It's some kind of… cosmic signature! And there's a massive, unmovable object at the center of the crater. It's… impossible!"

"Impossible is my middle name, Jemma," Adam said, already planning his next move. He knew what that object was. Mjolnir. Thor's hammer. And he knew no one could lift it. Except Thor. Eventually.

He decided to make a subtle appearance. Not to interfere directly with Thor, not yet. But to subtly annoy Coulson. Because some things never changed.

He teleported to a position near the S.H.I.E.L.D. perimeter, invisible. He saw Coulson, looking stressed, trying to coordinate his agents. Coulson took out his phone, probably to call Fury.

Adam focused, a mischievous glint in his eye.

[Illusions & Holograms activated. Target: Optic Nerves. Effect: Phone Screen Glitch.]

Coulson's phone screen suddenly flickered, then displayed a giant, pixelated image of a cat playing a piano. Coulson blinked, furiously tapping the screen.

"What in the…?" Coulson muttered, shaking his phone. "Fury, are you seeing this? My phone's gone rogue!"

Adam, unseen, chuckled. "Oh, Coulson. You and your tech. Always a reliable source of entertainment."

He watched as Thor was eventually subdued and taken into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody. He saw the agents trying, and failing, to lift Mjolnir. He saw Coulson's growing frustration. This was all playing out exactly as he remembered. But he could add his own flair.

He teleported near the perimeter where the local townspeople were gathered, curious and confused. He focused on a particularly skeptical-looking local, who was scoffing at the idea of a "god."

[Illusions & Holograms activated. Target: Optic Nerves. Effect: Fleeting Aura.]

For a fleeting moment, a faint, golden aura seemed to shimmer around Thor, visible only to the skeptical local. The local's jaw dropped, his eyes wide.

"Did you… did you see that?" the local whispered to his friend. "He's… he's glowing!"

Adam grinned. "Planting seeds of belief. Because even gods need a good PR team. And I'm the best there is."

He knew Loki was already at work, pulling strings, manipulating events. The Bifrost was damaged. Thor was banished. This was just the beginning of the Asgardian drama. And Adam and his agency were perfectly positioned to observe, analyze, and subtly influence.
