Chapter 140: Chapter 140: The Journey Begins
King shrugged. He was well aware of his own abilities—or lack thereof. Now that he had discovered his immense potential in mental energy, he wasn't about to let this opportunity slip away. He also wished to develop strength befitting his reputation, so he wouldn't have to rely on Saitama every single time.
Once everyone made their decisions, Han Yu pulled out four location-binding teleportation scrolls from his general store system and handed one to each of them.
"These can only be used once. Just find a place you think works as the teleportation point and press the scroll against the door. Oh, and one more thing..."
Han Yu retrieved four brand-new smartphones from the general store system. They were ordinary touchscreen devices, nothing fancy. Green light glowed faintly from his fingertips as it flowed into the charging ports of each phone.
Soon, a contact appeared in their address books marked with a lantern icon and labeled as "Han Yu."
"These phones will allow you to contact me from this world. If anything comes up, use these to reach me."
Without hesitation, Fubuki and the others accepted the phones and pocketed them.
Fubuki spoke up, "Hey, why don't we visit your school now? I'd like to check out the work environment."
The others nodded in agreement. It would be much better to have Han Yu accompany them than to show up on their own and risk feeling awkward.
Hearing this, Han Yu thought for a moment before nodding. "Sure, that works. I haven't been to the school in a while either."
"Let's go!"
Saitama's excitement was palpable. After all, they were heading to an entirely different world. Who wouldn't be thrilled about that?
"Hold on a moment. Let me make a call," Han Yu said, taking out his interdimensional phone. He dialed Charles and waited for the other side to pick up.
"Charles, are you at the school?" Han Yu asked when the call connected.
"Yes, why? Is our esteemed Principal Han finally planning a visit?" Charles teased, his tone light.
Rolling his eyes, Han Yu replied, "Yes, I found three teachers and a student to bring over. I want them to check out the school."
"Are you serious? Fantastic! Come over right away. I'll send you the coordinates and prepare a few rooms!" Charles exclaimed, hanging up immediately to send Han Yu the school's exact location.
"That guy..." Han Yu shook his head with a wry smile. Charles was overly eager, but it showed just how invested he was in the school's growth.
After confirming the coordinates, Han Yu turned to the group. "Pack a change of clothes. You might as well stay for a few days and explore."
The suggestion made sense to everyone. Visiting another world was an opportunity to take in new sights and experiences.
In a flurry, they all rushed home and returned within fifteen minutes, each carrying a small bag.
"Alright, let's go!"
Han Yu activated one of the teleportation scrolls. With a firm squeeze, the scroll vanished, and a portal shimmering with blue energy appeared before them.
Without hesitation, Han Yu stepped through. Saitama and the others exchanged glances before following him one by one.
Emerging from the portal, they found themselves standing on the main road of a vast estate. A grand mansion loomed ahead, surrounded by rows of neatly trimmed box-shaped trees.
From the front of the opulent building, Han Yu could be seen chatting with two men. Spotting the group, Han Yu waved them over with a warm smile.
As the group approached the entrance, Han Yu gestured to the men standing beside him and said, "Let me introduce you. This is Charles and Erik—they're teachers here."
Turning to Charles and Erik, he continued, "These are the new teachers I've brought for you: Fubuki, Saitama, and Genos. And this one here is King, a new student."
However, the moment they began speaking, a language barrier became apparent. Fubuki and the others spoke Japanese, while Charles and Erik spoke English.
Han Yu suddenly realized the issue. In his general store, people from different countries could communicate freely because of its built-in language translation feature. But now that they were outside the store, only Han Yu, as its owner, retained that ability.
"There's a language barrier," Fubuki said, feeling a bit awkward.
"Hello, I'm Genos," said Genos confidently. Unlike the others, he didn't face this problem—being a cyborg, his system already included English in its language library.
"Hold on a moment; this can be fixed," Han Yu reassured them.
Addressing his system silently, he requested, "System, give me three translator jellies—permanent ones."
As soon as he finished, three palm-sized jelly-like objects materialized in his hand. He handed them to Saitama, Fubuki, and King.
"These are called translator jellies. Just eat one, and you'll be able to understand other languages instantly," Han Yu explained.
"Really? Something like this exists?" Fubuki took one and inspected it closely. It looked like an ordinary piece of jelly.
"Go on, eat it. You'll see if it works," Han Yu encouraged with a grin.
Trusting him, the group ate the jellies. Saitama, in his typical hurried manner, choked a bit and started pounding his chest.
"Do you need some water?" Han Yu asked, amused.
"No, no, I'm fine… I already swallowed it," Saitama replied, waving his hand. He looked up and realized something surprising: the person who had just spoken to him was Charles.
"This thing really works—and so quickly!" Saitama exclaimed. "I could understand him immediately. This is amazing!"
Seeing the effect, King worked up the courage to speak. "Um… hello. You can call me King. I'm here to study. I hope you can understand me…"
Erik chuckled and nodded. "Nice to meet you, King. I'm Erik."
Erik didn't find it strange that King was here as a student. Instead, he smiled warmly and shook his hand, leaving King slightly relieved.
With the translator jellies proving effective, the group began introducing themselves to Charles and Erik, bridging the gap and easing the initial awkwardness.
Han Yu stood by, smiling as he watched the scene unfold.
"Come on, let's chat as we walk. Standing in the doorway isn't ideal," Charles suggested.
He waved his hand, and the large double doors of the mansion opened effortlessly. The display left Saitama and the others wide-eyed. The flair, the seamless grace—it was undeniably cool.
Inside the mansion, there were numerous rooms, and Charles told them they could choose any they liked for their stay.
