Hela completely ignored Arthur's words, her angry gaze fixed on the sky.

Arthur thought for a moment before he said, "Actually, the current mess is partly my fault. Sure, you stole the wood, but I used that as an excuse. I thought that if things got bad enough between us, your father would decide that this was a lost cause and give up. I never expected that he'd rather strip you of your powers than let me go."

Hela turned to him abruptly. "Not let you go? Why are you even here?"

"You finally asked something important, huh?" Arthur grinned. "Your father thought it was time for his precious daughter to get married. And guess who was chosen? Lucky me! He decided to marry you to me."

"...You're delusional!" Hela erupted in anger. "And since when does 'he' get to decide anything about me?"

"You'll have to take that up with him. How the hell should I know?" Arthur rolled his eyes. "And don't think I'm eager to marry you. If I was, I wouldn't have bothered to fight you. If you end up killing me, who am I supposed to complain to?"

"So you did it on purpose?" Hela's face darkened as she stood. "No one makes a fool of me."

"And your father forcing me to marry you - are you okay with that?" Arthur asked back.

"That will never happen!" Hela sneered coldly. "You are not worthy!"

"Well, aren't you something," Arthur muttered, shaking his head and brushing off her words. "Whether I'm worthy or not doesn't matter, because I never intended to marry you anyway. You'd better keep that straight."

"You dare..."

Hela's eyes widened. It was acceptable for her to say he wasn't worthy, but for Arthur to say he didn't want to marry her?

What was that supposed to mean? Did he think she wasn't good enough for him?

"What's so daring about it?" Arthur looked around and sighed. "So, what now? Your father is being unreasonable. He dumped me here and said it was just a meeting. Well, we met, but now he won't let me leave. Sealing your powers - what is his plan? To make me stay here and keep you company for a while?"

"I'm taking my powers back."

Hela gave him a cold look. "And you needn't worry. The first thing I'll do when I get my powers back is kill you. That way, you won't have to marry me or worry about the future... because you won't have one."

After making this declaration, Hela turned and walked away, laughing maniacally.

But after taking one step, she lost her balance and fell to the ground with a loud thud.

For a moment, the world was silent.

Hela remained sprawled on the ground, seemingly reflecting on her divine life and wondering what karmic wrongs she must have committed to suffer such humiliation in front of someone like Arthur.

Arthur looked at the fallen goddess and raised an eyebrow. "Don't think you're all that just because you have a big butt. And don't think falling on your face is cute either..."

Hela grabbed a handful of black mud from the ground and threw it at Arthur with all her might.

Arthur's wings spread and gave a quick shake, sending the mud flying right back at Hela. She exploded in anger. "How dare you!"

"What have I done?"

Arthur grinned shamelessly. "What, you can bully me, but I can't fight back? Look around you. Who's the one whose powers are sealed? Is it me? Or is it you who can't even walk properly without falling on your face?"

"..."

Hela gritted her teeth. "He can't keep my powers sealed forever. The strain will wear him out. He's old... dying. I'll recover soon enough, and the first thing I'll do then is kill you."

Arthur thought for a moment. "So you're basically daring me to take advantage of the fact that your powers are mostly sealed right now and finish you off while I still can?"

"Would you dare?"

Hela sneered coldly. "He wants you to marry me, not kill me. If you go against his wishes, he'll kill you too."

"So the math is pretty clear, right?"

Arthur raised a finger. "Option one: I don't fight back, your powers return, and you kill me. Option two: I resist now, kill you, and then Odin kills me. Either way, I die. So why don't I just kill you now while I can enjoy it?"

With that, Arthur stood up, a sword suddenly appearing in his hand. "Alright, let's talk - sword to sword."

"What are you doing?" The expression on Hela's face changed as she saw it.

If both options meant that Arthur would die, then he really had nothing to fear. And as for herself... she might not leave alive either!

This outcome was unacceptable. She had so much left to do, so much unfinished business. She couldn't let herself die at the hands of this despicable man.

"Stop! I understand..." Hela gritted her teeth, forcing herself to swallow her pride as she spoke. "None of us have any feelings for each other, right? We don't want to be together! So in that sense, we're on the same side!"

"You've learned to think?"

Hearing her words, Arthur stabbed his sword into the ground in front of her, crouched down and smiled. "Go on, keep talking..."

When had Hela ever been so humiliated?

Even being sealed in this cursed place, enduring endless ages of loneliness, hadn't broken her like this. For a moment, she was on the verge of exploding again.

But when she saw the gleaming blade in front of her, she gritted her teeth and continued, "So there's no need for us to kill each other! If you're willing, we can work together. Once we escape this place, we can take revenge on Odin! The two of us together-"

"Would definitely get killed!"

Arthur nodded emphatically.

"Right, we'd definitely—" Hela, caught up in her own thoughts, nodded along instinctively before pausing, realizing something was off. She looked at Arthur, confused. "What did you say?"

"As long as Odin's around, you wouldn't dare make a move," Arthur said with a shrug. He glanced around. "Otherwise, do you really think a place like this could actually hold you?"

Hela's expression shifted subtly.

Arthur's grin widened. "Besides, we don't even need to escape together. If you help me get out, this whole mess will be solved. You can stay here and wait for the old man to kick the bucket, and I can leave. Sure, he might throw me back in here later, but since neither of us is interested in romance, we could just keep playing the same game. You get me out again, and after a few rounds of this, even he'll give up. Sound like a plan?"
