Chapter 12: CH 12: Gift Packs(1)
Elliot and Sicilia watched their son run excitedly up the stairs.
"Be careful with your steps," Sicilia shouted, her voice laced with worry that Ragnar might trip
"I know," Ragnar answered but his footsteps became much slower and more careful as he got back in his room slamming the door shut from excitement.
"That kid," Sicilia whispered, shaking her head in amusement. She was about to take the plates to the sink when she noticed Elliot turning towards her with a serious expression as he put down his spoon.
"I need you to do something for me," Elliot said looking at his wife in the eyes seriously, as he reached out to her hand.
"What is it?" Sicilia frowned, her worry growing. She put the plates back down and held her husband's hands, sensing from his tone, he was about to say something important.
"I need you to remove my memory," Elliot whispered, tightening his grip on her hand and offering a reassuring smile.
"We both know how dangerous it is if someone finds out what our son can do."
Elliot wasn't even fazed that he was the one getting his memories removed or changed.
"I know, that's why we're going to be careful," Sicilia said glaring at her husband already knowing what he wanted to convey.
"We both know that won't be enough," Elliot said patting his wife's hand, comforting her, "There are people in this world that can read our minds, maybe you won't have a problem as a psychic, but we both knew I can't resist telepathy like you do," he whispered with a wry smile, he too didn't want his memory remove or change but there are no other options.
"I..." Sicilia wanted to argue, but she knew he was right. "I really wish he had lied," she said bitterly, acknowledging that she couldn't blame her son for telling the truth.
"Huh," Elliot scoffed, letting out a small laugh and shaking his head.
"I wouldn't blame my son. It just means I raised him right, and he loves us enough to share his deepest secrets," Elliot said proudly, looking in the direction of his son's room.
Sicilia returned a bright smile, though her eyes flickered with sadness before she masked it. She walked over to her husband and hugged him tightly. "Let's just enjoy this day, okay?"
"I know, let's tell Ragnar our plan as well," Elliot said hugging back his wife, as he kissed her on the head, "when you do it, I need you to make sure, the both of you can keep it a secret well," he whispered to Sicilia's ears jokingly.
"I know, I'll make sure you won't ever find out," Sicilia whispered as she couldn't help but let out a tear, feeling sad that she needed to remove and change her husband's memory, "I'm sorry," she whispered weakly.
"No need," Elliot said smiling not caring about it, he looked up towards the ceiling like he could see through the floors and walls as he looked towards Ragnar's direction.
"I'll remember, he would become stronger, strong enough not to hide from anyone," Elliot said confidently, he knew his son was destined for something big, something great and he wasn't the one that was going to hold him back.

"I forgot about that," Ragnar muttered, glancing at his wrecked bed. "Well, the mattress is still good," he added, walking over to sit on it and opening the chat group system. Then he started scrolling hrough the group's ongoing conversation.
[Shitori Sona]: Dragons?! You need help to fight dragons?! How many are there?
[Viking Warrior]: I think there are about fifty dragons attacking our village!
In her room Sona was sitting in her bed, as she pushed her glasses up with her fingers looking at the person asking for help in the group chat in shock, 'Impossible! Are there still many dragons alive today!' she thought about how terrible the dragons were, just from the story of the Red dragon Emperor Ddraig and the White dragon Emperor Albion.
Although there are dragons that can be seen in the familiar forest it was weak from being just a kid or a new born it was almost impossible to see a dragon in the wild and now, this person was telling her that her village is being attacked by fifty fully grown dragons, of course Sona wouldn't believe it.
[Shitori Sona]: impossible! Where are you?!
[Viking Warrior]: What do you mean impossible? Berk is always attacked by dragons at night! Can you help or not?!
Astrid frowned although she was a kid, she didn't lie as she looked at the frozen dragon in front of her.
Then suddenly someone interrupted their conversation making Astrid and Sona eyes widened in disbelief.
[Loony Lovegood]: Dragons? I saw them once when we visited a sanctuary. They're all mean, but they rarely attack people.
Luna replied, tilting her head as she recalled the dragons they saw at the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary during a family trip.
[Shitori Sona]: ?????
[Viking Warrior]: I think we're talking about different kinds of dragons.
'Rarely attack people huh,' Astrid looked at the dragon In front of her, before looking at the flaming front of her house and the destroyed door, she could even see outside, she even saw someone already getting carried by a dragon away, if it wasn't frozen in time she bet that guy was already been dinner.
[Shitori Sona]: Sanctuary, you kept dragons? And protect them?!
Sona asked in surprise as she began to wonder if the viking was right, if they're really talking about the same thing, and if it wasn't, 'It means only one thing,' she thought as Sona eyes brightened but she needed to make sure her guess was right.
[Shitori Sona]: can you guys tell me, where you live?
[Viking Warrior]: I already told you it's berk!
[Loony Lovegood]: I live on the hill near Ottery St Catchpole village, you can come if you like.
Luna said calmly. Inside, she was secretly thrilled, believing these people might be the friends the chat group system had promised her.
When Sona saw their answers, she grabbed her phone and began to search for the locations they mentioned. She silently thanked Lord Beelzebub for making the internet accessible in the Underworld.
When Sona's search turned up nothing, she confirmed her suspicions. 'They were in different worlds.' Just as she was about to share her findings, another person responded, resolving her last doubt.
[Son of Plane]: I lived in a shack beside the duke manor in Star Lou city. Can anyone please help my mother?
Huo Yuhao answered, looking worriedly at his mother. That was the primary reason he'd joined the chat group system to find a way to improve his mother's condition.
[Wyrmling]: Ahem, Welcome everyone, have you guys opened your welcome gift packs, maybe that will help you in your situation.
Ragnar began to talk seeing some other members getting into trouble, knowing they are going to be the ones he's most likely going to spend time with, he could offer his help if he can.
Reading the Wyrmling's words they began to focus on the gift pack that they ignored when using the chat group.
[Loony Lovegood]: I'll open my gift pack first. Thank you for reminding me, little dragon.
Luna said innocently, knowing the term "Wyrmling" referred to a baby dragon.
[Viking Warrior]: Dragon?!
•-----•-----•-----•-----•
'Interesting, is it the first one to join the group chat?' Sona wondered, watching the Wyrmling appear as she checked out the gift pack.
[Do you want to open the chat group gift pack?]
[Yes/No]
'Let's see what surprises you have for me,' Sona thought, a smile playing on her lips as she chose to open the Gift pack.
[Opening Gift Pack...3...2...1]
[You got Hydrokinesis]
[Evil Pieces Mutation]
[Evil Pieces Connection]
[Identification]
[Do you wish to accept?]
Sona's eyes sparkled. Though her clan was already skilled in water magic, that was the problem – only water.
Hydrokinesis would allow her to control any liquid imaginable. Maybe, if she used it right, she could even manipulate it as solid ice or a wispy mist.
Then, her attention turned to the Evil Pieces. Sona understood the significance of mutated pieces, but she was most intrigued by the Connection. Even though the Evil Pieces reincarnated humans or other supernatural beings into devil servants, it didn't mean she had complete control over them.
'Accept,' Sona thought, filled with anticipation.
[Evil Pieces Mutation Starting..3..2..1]
[Evil Pieces Connection Starting..3..2..1]
[Hydrokinesis Turning On..3..2..1]
[Identification Turning On..3..2..1]
Sona extended her hand, summoning the Queen Piece. 'It's different from before,' she realized, examining it closely. Then, she used Identification on the chess piece.
[Mutated Queen Evil Pieces: Two times Enhance over all abilities of the chosen host]
[Connection: Sona Sitri] : Allow Sona Sitri to share 10% of the chosen host strength.
Sona's eyes gleamed. She knew the Queen Evil Piece could enhance a chosen host's capabilities, but two times? She could even select a weak person to be her Queen, though she wouldn't waste such an opportunity.
'It seems this isn't just a simple mutation,' Sona mused, remembering that the mutation of the pieces was supposed to simply allow reincarnating strong individuals into devils without any complications.
Sona made the chess piece vanish and attempted to utilize Hydrokinesis, trying to conjure water without a magic circle, simply by collecting the moisture from the air.
A small water sphere materialized on her hand, growing larger before it plopped onto her bed, revealing her inefficient control.
Sona wasn't disheartened by her failure. She knew her potential had greatly expanded just from this test.
"Hahahaha," Sona couldn't help but laugh, covering her mouth with her hand. She felt an uncontrollable surge of happiness at her newfound strength. 'With this, I can make my sister proud,' she thought.
Even though Sona often displayed a facade of disdain for her sister's childishness, deep down, she always craved her sister's recognition through hard work.
Just as Sona became lost in her thoughts, a knock echoed at her door. The door swung open, revealing Serafall.
"It's time to eat– So-tan, did you wet your bed?" Serafall asked, a teasing grin spreading across her face as she noticed the wet patch on Sona's bed.
"Onee-Sama.." Sona said slowly, clenching her fist. Veins pulsed on her forehead. 'Yeah, when I get strong, I'll knock some sense into her,' she thought, managing a stiff smile at Serafall.
