Chapter 86: (The wedding.)
Chapter eighty six:
Today was the wedding day and I wasn't nervous at all I was so excited to be married to Jean Grey. I didn't get much sleep though I can't sleep without Jean Grey. God I really was a romantic sap. I went downstairs to make breakfast and knocked for Pietro on the way.
"How are you feeling?" Said Pietro.
"Really excited. No nerves no doubts. I just want to be married now." I replied.
"I'm glad. I must warn you my speech is going to overshadow your vows." Said Pietro.
"Carol is already hyped them up so if they're not the best speech I've ever heard then it's going to be a let down. No pressure." I replied.
Pietro then started to panic. "Seriously Pietro I'm joking relax ok. I want you to enjoy the day." I said.
"Ok. Now you better go and get ready." Replied Pietro.
While I wait for the makeup and hair people to arrive I put on some comfortable clothes. They don't do anything to fancy which is what I wanted. I wanted to be comfortabile and natural. I thank them graciously and put on my outfit. This was all so very real. I then walked out and Pietro smiled.
"You look good." Said Pietro.
"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself. Here are the rings." I replied before giving them to him.
When then walked downstairs and Pietro went to see if the limo was outside. So it could take us to the ceremony. I waited at the top of the aisle and greeted everyone.
"Looking good Travis." Said Bucky Barnes.
"It's good to see you." I replied.
"Look after Jean. I know you will but just keep making her happy." Said Hank McCoy.
"Always and forever." I replied.
Nate then ran over to me but Pietro stopped him.
"Hey uncle Trav, you look good." Said Nate.
"You look very handsome Nate. Are you ready to walk Jean down the aisle?" I replied.
"Yes. Will you dance with me at the party?" Said Nate.
"Of course I will. What song do you like and we can see if the DJ can play it for you?" I replied.
"I like this song but I'm not allowed to say the first two words because it's rude but it's the dance with me song. Do you think we can dance to that?" Said Nate.
"We'll have to ask your mom first but I don't see why not." I replied.
Laura then took his hand and kept him to the side while Tommy and Billy sat beside them.
"You look good Travis. Clint would've loved you and how happy you Jean. Thank you for looking after her." Said Laura.
"I always will. And I guess we're family now so I'll look after you too. We will be gone for a while but when we come back I'll make sure to come over and help you with anything you need. Whether it's pouring you a glass of wine while Jean and I take care of the kids or using my red chaos magic to create something for you and the kids." I replied.
"Thank you Travis." Said Laura.
Everyone took their seats as Pietro took my arm in his. The music started to play as I walked down the aisle smiling. I faced the front waiting for the music to start before I turned around. Looking up the aisle I saw Natasha. There are no words left to describe her beauty. Not enough words left in my vocabulary to try and capture my soon to be wife.
I couldn't take my eyes off of Jean Grey. I didn't want to blink as I was afraid to miss something. Tears started to build up but I fought them not wanting to ruin my make up. Nate then let go of her.
"Good job buddy." I said.
I then looked at Jean Grey and I was speechless. "I love you Jean." I replied before kissing her gently on the lips.
"I love you too Travis." Said Jean Grey.
The pastor then did a beautiful reading:
(Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens. A good marriage must be created. In marriage the little things are the big things. It is never too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say I love you at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is at no time taking the other for granted. The courtship should not end with the honeymoon. It should continue through the years. It is speaking words of appreciation and gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is not looking for perfection in each other. It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humor. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow. It is finding room for the things of the spirit. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is establishing a relationship in which independent is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal. It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner.)
After saying our vows to each other. Jean Grey and I began to cry.
"By the power in me by the state of Hawaii I pronounce you wife and wife you may now kiss." Said the pastor.
I then wrapped my arms around Jean's red ponytail and waist to kiss her long and passionately on the lips.
"Hi Mrs. Maximoff." I replied.
"That sounds so good." Said Jean Grey.
Jean Grey and I then walked down the aisle together.
