Marvel: I Started by Containing SCPs

Chapter 273: Chapter 273

Kayako slowly crawled toward Megumi, her pitch-black pupils peering through strands of disheveled hair, locking onto her with a chilling gaze.

"Stay away!"

Megumi shouted as Kayako crept closer. She immediately drew her handgun and fired.

However, the bullets simply passed through Kayako, completely ineffective!

Seeing this, Megumi's face turned pale. She could only shuffle backward on the ground, desperately trying to put some distance between herself and Kayako.

But in such a confined space, where could she even escape to?

When the base first detected the intrusion, Megumi had been discussing the effects of the Wendigo skull with Reiko Bakumura.

Then, Kayako suddenly appeared, slaughtering many people before her eyes, extracting their souls to turn them into her servants.

She even possessed several researchers and security personnel, turning them into her puppets.

Megumi had been hiding until now, but Kayako had finally found her.

Not only was she terrified, but she was also deeply worried about the safety of everyone else. If this continued, what would become of the base?

Kayako drew closer and closer, her terrifying, emotionless face almost touching Megumi's feet.

"Ahhh!!!"

At that moment, Megumi screamed in sheer panic and unloaded her entire magazine at Kayako.

The bullets continued to pass through the ghostly figure.

Even though it was useless, as the captain of the Victory Team, she would not allow herself to die without putting up a fight!

"Captain!"

Hearing his captain's voice, Daigo immediately realized she was in danger.

Without hesitation, he transformed!

A brilliant light burst forth, illuminating the entire laboratory.

As soon as Tiga's light spread, the possessed individuals began emitting dark ghostly figures, which let out agonized screams before dissolving into countless particles and vanishing.

Those who had been under possession collapsed to the ground, freed from the curse.

The radiant light also reached Megumi's side.

Kayako let out a bloodcurdling scream as the light touched her.

"AHHHHHHH!!!!"

Her shriek was piercing, reminiscent of a cat being stepped on.

Smoke billowed from her body.

The next second, she vanished into thin air, her whereabouts unknown.

The sudden burst of light blinded Megumi, leaving her momentarily disoriented.

When she reopened her eyes, she saw a human-sized Ultraman Tiga standing before her.

"Tiga!"

Megumi was shocked to see Tiga suddenly appear.

Was he here to deal with the ghosts?

"Cha!"

Seeing that Megumi was unharmed, Tiga nodded firmly before scanning the area with his Ultra Vision.

From his perspective, black mist still lingered in the air—a remnant of Kayako's energy.

Without hesitation, Tiga transformed into a beam of light and vanished, pursuing Kayako!

Megumi stood there, dumbfounded as she watched Tiga disappear before her eyes.

Meanwhile, in an unmanned laboratory where the Wendigo skull was being kept, Kayako had inexplicably found her way inside.

"Mm... mm... mm..."

She let out heavy, raspy breaths as she looked around.

While fleeing from Tiga's light, she had suddenly heard a voice calling out to her.

She could sense that the owner of this voice possessed immense power.

Following the call, she arrived here.

Staring at the Wendigo skull before her, her pitch-black pupils locked onto its empty eye sockets as if communicating with it.

The next second, Kayako's eyes widened, and she lunged at the skull.

Her spectral form was instantly absorbed into the Wendigo skull!

Just then, Tiga arrived and witnessed the entire scene.

"Tiga!!!!"

"Consume, consume, consume!!"

"Kill, kill, kill!!"

The Wendigo skull reacted violently to Tiga's presence. It still remembered the humiliation of being defeated and contained by him.

However, its voice now carried a deep, eerie feminine undertone.

Furthermore, Kayako's spectral image flickered across the skull's surface.

"Cha!"

Seeing two anomalous entities merge, Tiga hesitated for a brief moment.

But he quickly made up his mind and unleashed a laser blast at the skull.

After the explosion, an eerie sight unfolded—the skull had completely vanished!

Tiga was momentarily stunned.

At that moment, the lights in the base suddenly flickered back on.

Elsewhere, Munakata and his team were chasing after Crimson Knightmon. Thanks to the knight's presence, they had successfully rescued several people, including Rena and Mayumi.

As they continued following him, the base's power came back on. Everyone, though startled, also felt a surge of relief.

"The communication system is back online!"

Nozomi cheered, holding up his communicator.

"Not good! The main power supply is completely drained! We're running on backup power, but it won't last long!"

After checking the base's energy levels, Nozomi shouted in alarm.

"Ah!"

Rena suddenly screamed in terror.

She pointed ahead—the floor was swarming with countless ghosts rising from the ground.

The group instinctively raised their weapons.

Although they knew firearms were useless against ghosts, they had no other means of defense.

However, the ghosts didn't attack them.

Instead, they all rushed toward the outside of the base.

It was nighttime, and the darkness outside seemed to be the perfect stage for their activity.

In the night sky, the Wendigo skull floated ominously, crackling with electricity.

Ghosts from all over the TPC base were continuously being absorbed into it.

"Uwooooh!!"

"Not enough! Souls! I need more souls!!"

"Shut up!!"

Kayako's face emerged on the surface of the Wendigo skull.

The two entities appeared to be in conflict.

More and more souls were continuously drawn into the skull.

No one could tell whether these were spirits Kayako had captured from another universe or if she had slain more members of the TPC.

When the final soul was absorbed—

Something unbelievable happened!

The skull began growing chunks of flesh.

These masses rapidly expanded, reaching a thickness of 40 to 50 meters!

The flesh then started assembling into humanoid limbs, which were soon covered in thick fur.

Meanwhile, the skull itself enlarged, sprouting black hair, and beneath it, a woman's face emerged.

A towering, 50-meter-tall humanoid creature, wearing the Wendigo skull and covered in fur, had materialized.

The monster descended toward the ocean floor.

Just as it landed, a brilliant light appeared in front of it.

As the light faded, Tiga, having returned to his original size, stood ready for battle!
