Chapter 39: Chapter 39 : All Men Are Same
Westview Nights
"No, I want to watch a movie."
Wanda noticed the sudden spark of excitement in Finn's expression and immediately sensed trouble. She wasn't going to fall for whatever he was planning.
"I didn't mean right now. I just wanted to prepare for the future."
Finn absentmindedly ran his fingers along Wanda's bare legs. Her skin was impossibly soft, delicate, and smooth, something he never got tired of touching.
He felt like a man who had uncovered a hidden treasure, completely enthralled.
With interest piqued, he reached for the tablet on the bedside table and began scrolling through its contents.
"What are you doing?"
Wanda, lying beside him, glanced at the screen out of the corner of her eye. She immediately recognized the familiar interface of a shopping app.
Why was he looking at a shopping app in bed?
Her mind wandered. Was he planning to buy something unusual?
A distant memory surfaced—something she had accidentally glimpsed in an adult magazine once. Some men used certain... tools to spice things up in the bedroom.
Was he thinking about that?
The thought made her face grow warm. Instinctively, she tightened the quilt around her body, then lightly nudged Finn with her foot, her voice both cautious and accusing.
"I don't agree with whatever you're planning to buy, so don't try anything weird."
Finn let out an amused sigh, lifting the tablet for her to see.
"Relax, Wanda. I'm just buying a few pairs of socks and clothes. Why are you so tense?"
She exhaled a breath of relief, eyes scanning the screen.
"Oh..." She nodded, relaxing. "I thought you were up to something weird."
Finn smirked at her reaction, unable to resist teasing her. He reached out, pinching her soft cheek playfully.
"Comrade Witch, your thoughts are a little dirty. Always imagining strange things."
"I am not! I was just led astray by you!" Wanda argued, frowning.
She wasn't usually like this. She didn't know much about these things—at least, not before she met him. But after spending time with Finn, her thoughts had started to shift, little by little.
Who was truly corrupting whom here? The answer seemed obvious.
"Of course," Finn chuckled, flipping through a few more pages before handing the tablet back to her. "Come on, pick some socks and clothes."
Wanda pouted but took the device anyway, reluctantly scanning through the options.
She hated to admit it, but Finn had a way of softening her resistance with that deep, smooth voice of his. It was warm, rich, magnetic. Sometimes, it made her legs feel weak without him even touching her.
Her mood, however, took a sharp turn when she noticed something unusual about the search results.
The color drained from her face.
Her gaze hardened as she scrolled down further, her brows furrowing in disbelief.
"Finn... what exactly are you trying to buy?"
Finn leaned closer, wrapping an arm around her waist as he glanced at the screen.
"Socks and clothes," he replied smoothly.
Wanda's eye twitched.
"Are you sure?"
With slow, deliberate movements, she scrolled through the page again.
Yes, they were socks... but they weren't just any socks.
Stockings.
Delicate, intricate stockings—sheer black lace, silky white, fishnets, thigh-highs, suspender stockings... all sorts of styles she had never even considered wearing before.
And the clothes?
Her fingers hesitated before swiping down further.
Tight-fitting dresses. Lingerie. And—her breath caught in her throat—a nurse outfit.
The design was scandalous: over-the-knee suspender stockings with lace-trimmed tops, attached to garter straps that hooked onto a dangerously short white skirt.
The whole ensemble was a mixture of innocence and seduction.
Wanda's face turned crimson.
"I'm not buying this!" she declared, practically throwing the tablet onto the bed. Without another word, she yanked the blanket over her head, burying herself inside.
She knew it! Whenever Finn had that expression, nothing good ever followed!
There was no way she was wearing something like that! Those so-called "clothes" barely covered anything!
Sure enough—men are all the same!
Finn chuckled at her reaction, completely unsurprised.
He already knew Wanda wasn't the type to wear revealing outfits. Even her battle suit as an Avenger was a trench-coat-style ensemble, covering her as much as possible.
It was exactly because of that innocence that he enjoyed teasing her.
"Wanda," Finn called out, tugging at the edge of the quilt.
"I'm asleep!" came her muffled response.
Of course, he didn't let her escape so easily. He pulled the blanket down, revealing her flushed face, and pulled her into his arms.
His voice dropped to a coaxing whisper. "Just pick a few, okay?"
Wanda stiffened.
"D-Don't use that voice to seduce me!" she protested weakly.
Finn smirked. He could hear the hesitation in her voice, see the way her body relaxed ever so slightly.
He knew her too well.
"You're only going to wear them for me, Wanda. No one else will see. So why be shy?"
His lips brushed against her ear, voice low and persuasive.
The warmth of his breath sent an involuntary shiver down her spine.
He had too much influence over her.
Her defenses crumbled.
"...Fine," she whispered. "Just a few. And nothing too... revealing."
A triumphant smile spread across Finn's face.
Without wasting a second, he handed her the tablet.
Wanda's entire face burned as she scrolled through the options, forcing herself to pick the least scandalous ones. Every choice felt like a test of her dignity.
She had never been more embarrassed in her life.
Finally, she shoved the tablet back at Finn as if it carried a contagious disease.
"Done!" she announced, face still red.
Finn examined her choices with an approving nod. "Good taste."
Wanda groaned, hiding her face in her hands.
She didn't want to know what he was thinking.
"Just fill in the address," he instructed, "Westview. They should arrive in two days."
Finn confirmed the purchase, then turned his attention back to her, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Wanda, you're too good to me."
Wanda only mumbled something incoherent, too flustered to respond.
Her body was exhausted, her mind foggy. It had been a long morning, and with everything that had happened since they got back, she was completely drained.
Snuggling deeper into Finn's arms, she let out a small yawn.
"I'm sleepy..." she murmured, her voice soft and drowsy.
Finn stroked her hair gently, letting her drift into sleep. He watched her for a moment, content, before slowly getting up and walking toward the study.
There was still unfinished business to take care of.
Inside the study, Finn's eyes darkened as he focused his thoughts.
"Time to finish this."
"Konoha S-rank Jutsu : Spirit Transformation Technique"
For the past two days, he had allowed himself to enjoy a peaceful vacation with Wanda, pushing everything else aside.
But after this morning's encounter with Agatha, he realized he couldn't afford to delay any longer.
According to the system's rules, if someone who knew his true power exposed him—either directly or indirectly—his hidden mission would fail.
And once that happened, the only way to restart it was to ensure that everyone who had learned the truth forgot about him completely.
Failure was not an option.
Finn took a deep breath.
Above him, the air shimmered.
A swirling sea of stars formed overhead.
It was time to act.
